Abstract

PT. Macmahon Mining Service Batang Toru maintains the quality of telecommunications services and fleet management through the activities of Fleet Management System by IT / FMS Department. Based on the results of interviews with FMS Senior Engineer, said that the FMS department governance had never been evaluated, FMS activities had not all been documented in a company document, lack of SOPs that discussed actions in dealing with problems, and inability of FMS departments to assist services and assessment quickly in the field. Capability analysis of IT governance in the internal control process using the COBIT 5 framework will produce an overview of the current level of IT governance capabilities and recommendations for future improvements. The first step is doing data collection through questionnaires to selected respondents based on the RACI Chart, then conducted observations, interviews, and documentation. Then conducting a self-assessment process that resulted in the capability level of IT governance in the internal control of IT / FMS department is at level 1 at 84%. Furthermore, doing a gap analysis, where the target level is 2 so as to produce a gap is 1. The last stage is to prepare recommendations for improvement that focus on planning and making standard internal control documents, comparing results of performance with other departments, documenting every main risk and nom-main risk, and increase the number of personnel.

Abstract

MPLS is a forwarding method to forward a package together with the label attached to each package, this process is called label switching. Routing protocol mechanism to distribute label on MPLS is divided into two types; those are Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) and Traffic Engineering (TE). LDP is a basic routing protocol used in MPLS network, using label switching. TE is a technique to manipulate network traffic to control the traffic load on the network. With the differences of MPLS mechanism using LDP and TE, indubitably the way of working and the performance of those routing protocol are also different. Graphical Network Simulator 3 (GNS 3) is employed to simulate MPLS using LDP and TE with Brawijaya University (UB) topology. Examination scenario are performed by sending package between 2 local networks outside the main network of UB's topology. The parameters are round trip delay to find out delivery speed and convergence time to know the speed of choosing the best route to reach destination when dead link occurs at delivery process. The purpose of this research is to compare the performance of MPLS using LDP and TE on the computer network routers. The results are, MPLS using TE has better performance because the delivery uses the explicit route on the tunnel. There's no need to search for designated router as used in MPLS LDP that makes the router looking for the best path when branching occurs. Using backup route also helps MPLS using TE to reduce convergence time when failure occurs at the delivery of the package.

Abstract

The Faculty of Computer Science, Brawijaya University (FILKOM) has public and equipment affair sub section, which is responsible for handling complaints and maintenance services at FILKOM. In handling these responsibilities, public and equipment affair sub section have difficulties due to a mechanism that has not run optimally. This resulted in complaints come from various sources so that it could not be recorded properly and complainants often complained about the handling of complaints that had been reported. In handling maintenance, the data collection history of an inventory is still not maximal. In order for the implementation of these functions to run optimally, a container for complaint complaints and maintenance scheduling is needed. One solution is develop an Android-based service complaint and maintenance (PLM) application. This development starts with requirement engineering that makes 18 functional and 2 non-functional requirement and 3 actor roles. In development process, the PLM application applies the waterfall method because the requirements have been defined as a whole at the beginning. The design process is done by object-oriented modeling and program implementation using java language on Android Studio and implementing data using Firebase. Based on the testing, the results obtained 100% for unit testing, validation, and compatibility and obtained usability testing with value of 100% for the task scenario and 97.2% for the USE questionnaire method.

Based on the observations, interviews, and several responses in the Playstore comment column, various problem were found on the application that could make the user experience worse. To reduce any issues related to user experience, therefore an evalation is required to improve its user interface. This research is conducted with the UEQ (User Experience Questionnaire) method to measure the quality of the user experience level and HE (Heuristic Evaluation) to specify a problem(s) for the evaluator. The first evaluation is found that the BMKG app has a neutral user experience level and ”bad” rank resulted from the UEQ benchmark in 4 scales which are Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, and Novelty and acquired a ”below average” category in 2 scales which are Dependability and Stimulation. Besides that, as much as 17 issues have been discovered by the evaluator and a list of design fix recommendations have been provided. The design fixes are then re-measured where it is discovered that there is a significant rise in the user experience level that results in a positive level and the UEQ benchmark category for Attractiveness, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation and Novelty is raised to a ”good” category, while the Perspicuity scale is measured in the ”above” category.

Abstract

The functional position of the lecturer is the position of the lecturer based on the , responsibilities, duties, rights and authority in Higher Education based on certain expertise and individual nature. While rank is a position that shows the level of an employee based on his position in a series of staffing and is used as a base for payroll. In the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya (FILKOM) from the field findings of several FILKOM lecturers that the lecturer had many activities. Then when the file validation and verification process in the FILKOM employee proposed a frequent error so that it did not have time to process further revisions in collecting files in 4 fields and administrative files for proposed promotions and / or functional positions. Coupled with the lecturer still doing the AK calculation manually by looking at the guide so that it allows even fatal calculation errors can be mistaken in the calculation of AK in each activity. In this study aims to help FILKOM lecturers in collecting 4 fields of files, assisting in the validation and verification of 4 fields of files, monitoring the status of proposals, and also assisting lecturers in calculating AK lecturers' activities automatically based on AK assessment guidelines. In this study using a prototyping approach. And in its implementation, it applies dummy webservice to retrieve BKD file data, Universitas Brawijaya staff and lecturers, especially FILKOM. The results of this study were obtained twenty-eight functional requirements and one non-functional requirement obtained from 1 prototyping iteration process. From the results of unit testing, integration and compatibility testing of the browser environment, the results are 100% valid.

Abstract

Hate speech is a form of expression that is done to eliminate hatred and commit acts of violence and oppose someone or a group of people for various reasons. The cases of hate speech are very often encountered on social media, one of which is on Twitter. The goal to be achieved is to create a system that can classify a tweet on Twitter into a class of hate speech (HS) or non hate speech (NONHS). The method used is Naive Bayes and Information Gain feature selection with word normalization. Word normalization is used to solve problems on Twitter such as the number of words abbreviated, the use of slang, misspellings, and the use of languages that are not in accordance with existing standards.Word normalization comes from Indonesian Natural Language Processing REST API. The data used supports 250 data tweets of hate speech in Indonesian with a ratio of 80% for training data and 20% for testing data. The threshold used is 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 90%. Threshold is a limit that is determined to store a collection of terms or a collection of words with the aim of selecting a word that has a high value in the Information Gain feature selection. The best accuracy results obtained by using word normalization in the pre-processing stage and using Information Gain feature selection with an 80% threshold. The best accuracy result is 98%, precision result is 100%, recall result is 96.15%, and f-measure result is 98.03%. Based on the analysis of the results and testing obtained, it can be concluded when doing hate speech classifications in Indonesian on Twitter using Naive Bayes and Information Gain feature selection with word normalization can improve better accuracy of the results.

Abstract

Software maintenance is a software development phase that requires more effort, time, and cost. One of the causes of maintenance problems is the high value of software complexity. Developers will find it difficult to understand the software when doing maintenance or if there are changes. In the Object Oriented approach (OO) the use of inheritance, encapsulation, coupling, polymorphism, etc. can facilitate developers in building software. However, the use of high inheritance can also result in high values of complexity. Manually calculating the complexity of a lot of software requires a lot of time and resources. Therefore, it is easy to help calculating software complexity using the Cognitive Weighted Inherited Class Complexity (CWICC) metric. CWICC metrics are OO metrics that function to calculate the complexity of software based on an understanding of the attributes, methods, and inheritance of a class. This system has been built on the programming language of Java and also has been tested using unit testing and integration testing that uses whitebox testing and validations testing that use blackbox testing. This system has an accuracy of 100% and the time for calculating with system is 356 times more faster than with manually.

Abstract

The compulsory usage of E-Toll Cards is a new policy introduced by the Indonesian government as a method for paying toll fee. Although the usage of E-Toll Cards are known to improve time efficiency of transactions, but it cannot be exactly pinpointed what affects time efficiency factor. If a factor can be identified, then that factor can be that intensified to improve efficiency of E-Toll Cards. The purpose of this research is to identify the values that are involved in usage of E-Toll Cards in 5 variables which are functional values, emotional values, epistemic values, conditional values and social values with 97 respondents. Results show that the functional value variable is the most significant, respondents agreed that using E-Toll Cards is the right solution to solving traffic jams on toll roads which is caused by long paying queues, and the results from paying services utilizing E-Toll Cards are as expected by the respondents. The findings from the epistemic value variables toward the current topic of research is that respondents agreed that the usage of E-Toll Cards for paying toll fares are a new method which was never implemented previously and the procedure of acquiring an E-Toll Card is relatively easy as it is readily available for purchase in bank branches all across Indonesia. The findings from the social value variables is that he needs of the respondents can be fulfilled with using E-Toll Cards and using E-Toll Cards because they want to give a good impression that they are law abiding citizens. Emotional value and conditional value variables are discovered to have no significance.
