Abstract

The mutation division is one of the BKPSDM divisions that has main service to help realize the implementation of personnel affairs. These services include managing formation, completing promotions and submitting employee layoffs. However, there are still some problems that hinder the running of the service, such as difficulties in collecting the entire record of employee data for the preparation of formation and long processing on completion of promotions and employee dismissal. Therefore, analysis, evaluation and improvement of business processes are needed to overcome the problems and optimize the running of the business process. In this research, business process modeling is carried out using Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN), analyzing and evaluating each activity using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and improving business processes through the Business Process Improvement (BPI) method. After that, the simulation is run between the current business process model and the recommendation to determine the validity and results of the time analysis. Based on the simulation results through Bizagi Modeler, it was found that each business process has a valid value and an increased time on business process recommendation. Business process in managing the formation there was an increase in time 12.09%, completion of promotion 53.68% and submission of employee layoffs 2.41%.

Abstract

Gapura UB is an academic portal mobile application to access academic information and services in the Brawijaya University campus environment. Based on the results of interviews with the developers, stated that the application has never been evaluated usability by testing usability to its users or conducted an inspection by an expert. Even though usability evaluation is an important element that makes it possible to add insight into usability problems in the application. This study aims to identify the usability problem of the application and compare the effectiveness of four evaluation methods used in this study: usability testing, interviews, surveys, and heuristic evaluation. Data is collected from users in the student category and expert evaluator. Details of the number of respondents used are usability testing (N = 10), interviews (N = 10), surveys (N = 110), and heuristic evaluation (N = 3). The four methods together identified a total of 44 usability problems: 45% through heuristic evaluation, 24% through surveys, 17% through interviews and 14% from usability testing, with a few similar findings. These problems are then categorized using Usability Taxonomy Problem (UPT) which divides the problem into 5 categories with details of 17 categories of visualness, 6 categories of language, 3 categories of manipulation, 11 categories of task-mapping and 7 others including the category of task-facilitation. The results of this study prove that the four methods are complementary, each method provides a unique insight to improve the usability of the application user interface. The researcher recommends using a multi-method approach when evaluating application usability because it can provide a more comprehensive representation of usability issues.

Abstract

An ad blocker extension is an ad solution that interferes while surfing in cyberspace but this extension has drawbacks, namely its limited use which is only limited to a web browser or users have to download an ad blocker separately and block ads that are limited customization. An ad blocker using DNS Sinkhole is a solution to filtering advertisements by filtering traffic on a network by checking the presence or absence of DNS queries from the ad server so that adblocker usage is not limited to every application but on every network access the user uses. Ad-blocking customization is also more flexible with the Blacklist mechanism using lists, Regex and Wildcards which expands the feature in which Regex will block ads by identifying certain patterns of any domains you want to block and also Wildcards which block the domain and its subdomains by using only names its main domain. This study uses a cloud architecture to expand access from the DNS Sinkhole and to increase security, users access the cloud network using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) mechanism so that if users want to activate an ad blocker on the network they are accessing, they only need to access it by activating VPN. As a result, users get a better internet experience with no annoying ads from a site or mobile application with a 53% reduction in total requests, 57% faster load time, and less content received by the browser with Total Transfered Resources decreased by 48%.

Abstract

Elecomp Software house is a software development company in the city of Malang. Elecomp Software house accepts the creation of applications in the form of websites and mobile. In carrying out its daily activities, elecomp software house encountered several problems. These problems include the lack of integration of hosting account and domain data used in client-owned projects that are being worked on, domain payment reminder according to the time request from each client one by one, monitoring project progress that is still need manual work as well as revision of the project from the client and progress reporting that take a long time. The purpose of this research is to build a system that can integrate hosting account, domain and project data, remind domain payments to clients automatically, facilitate the distribution of resources and monitoring in project work, and can facilitate clients in monitoring and revising their projects. . This research was carried out using SDCL Waterfall as the method, and OOP or object-oriented programming as the design and programming method. After the system is finished, testing is done. There are three tests, unit tests on three methods that produce a total of 19 test cases, the test results are 100% passed. Integration testing resulted in 2 test cases, the results were 100% passed. Validation testing tests 78 functionalities and produces 115 test cases, the results are 100% valid.

Abstract

Zona Tamasya as one of the travel agency provides a variety of tour services. The most popular and best seller service is the open trip tour package. Customers who want to take an open trip can book or reserve a place in advance by contacting Zona Tamasya (admin) via the Whatsapp application. When there is an increase in the number of customers, especially during the holiday season, the admin of Zona Tamasya is quite overwhelmed to respond to any messages that come from customers, both from customers who only ask for information to confirm payment. This weakness makes Zona Tamasya plan to improve the quality of its services by utilizing the website as a medium of information and transactions (reservations). In this research, a web-based application was developed that can be used to make travel package reservations. This application was developed using MERN stack technology (MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js) and integrates online payment systems. Development is carried out following the principles of software engineering in a linear fashion. The results of the study are web-based applications with the main features of package tours and online payment that have been tested for their functionality.

Abstract

Fokus Solusi Utama is a company engaged in information technology that uses the website as a marketing medium. Based on observations and pre-research interview results there are shortcomings of the website, including content structuring problems, inconsistencies between content, image size, and others. Excavation of the problem is also done to the web design, where the company needs an improvement of the website in terms of appearance. This research aims to evaluate the current website as well as provide improvement recommendations to improve the company's branding. The methods used are usability testing and heuristic evaluation. The usability testing method was conducted on 5 respondents based on work background and age. The heuristic evaluation method is done to 4 expert level double and 1 expert level regular, the results obtained from this study are complete because it is obtained from experts and users. Based on the evaluation results, the problems found were 62 problems. The improvement recommendations follow U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines and expert solutions, after prioritizing recommendations produced 33 recommendations using prototypes and 10 functionality recommendations, a much-changed section that is website navigation and home page. After the improvement recommendations are given, a final test is conducted to compare the value before and after the evaluation, the results obtained are the learnability, efficiency, and satisfaction components have improved, and the error component has decreased.

Abstract

It's important to find out information related to early childhood development.Early childhood development is the responsibility of parents as a family that is the beginning in the development of children before entering a higher level, namely school. However, parents' knowledge and experience of information on the development of young children is very minimal. These problems the authors found in parents who are actively conducting care and supervision of early childhood in conducting interviews. Based on existing and valid problems, it is necessary to do a new innovation solution that can improve the experience of parents in solving problems and the needs of prospective users, namely parents in providing information and activities of early childhood. To realize and enhance parents experience of innovations and new solutions that have good value and usability value in accordance with the problems of parents, user experience design is needed. The design of this user experience uses the human-centered design (HCD) method. The human-centered design method is an interactive approach that aims to make the system usable and useful by focusing on the needs of users by increasing aspects of user effectiveness and efficiency and satisfaction. The design of user experience parenting applications with human-centered design methods results in the design of user requirements, interaction designs, lowfidelity interface designs, screenflow designs, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes. The results of the design evaluation using Monroy's heuristic evaluation method produced 18 problem findings on 5 heuristic principles from 9 principles and produced information that the highest average severity rating was found in the heuristic make System Status Visible (MA01) principle, with the most problems found in heuristic principles have the app remember important stuff and not the user (MA06) as many as 7 problem findings with a minor rating severity level. Thus the results of the evaluation produce aesthetic design and minimal design so that prospective users (parents) are comfortable when using the application. The design results also produce a consistent design because the use of location, coloring and shape both menus and icons remain on the design system.

Abstract

Competition is an event that is made to be able to facilitate a person or group in improving the quality of their interests and talents. Competition can be divided into three stages as a whole, namely the stage of administrative registration, administrative selection, and the event itself. In general, the developed system has four important processes as solutions to existing problems. The important process includes making a competition conducted by the organizer, registration of the competition for participants who wish to take part in the competition, management of the competition who can determine the competition mechanism following the rules of the organizer organizing the competition. The model used in system development is using SDLC waterfall. The developed system consists of 32 functional requirements that are divided into three different actors. In developing the thesis system, several supporting technologies are used to make it easier to work on the system. Supporting technologies used include the PHP Programming Language, MySQL Database Management System, and the PHP Laravel Framework. The process of developing the system is divided into several structural phases which form the basis of this thesis research method. These phases consist of requirements analysis, system design and implementation, to testing. The testing method used in this research is to use the white box testing method at the unit testing and integration stage, and the black box testing is used in the validation testing stage. The system testing carried out has overall valid results on the test cases that have been made. The test case created is based on the previous stage, namely the needs analysis and system design.
