Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Majelis Ta’lim Al-Muttaqun in enhancing the community’s religious understanding, particularly in the aspect of fiqih ibadah in Bungtiang Village, Sakra Barat District. The main focus is to analyze the contribution of the majelis ta’lim to improving the community’s understanding of daily worship practices and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the learning process. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and documentation. The research informants consist of religious leaders, majelis ta’lim participants, community leaders, and academics relevant to the study of fiqih ibadah. The findings indicate that Majelis Ta’lim Al-Muttaqun plays a significant role as an effective medium for religious learning by delivering fiqih ibadah materials that are adapted to the community’s level of understanding. Supporting factors include the active involvement of preachers, the availability of relevant teaching materials, and the high level of religious enthusiasm among community members, while inhibiting factors comprise participants’ limited time, a lack of variety in teaching methods, and low religious literacy among some segments of the community. The study concludes that the presence of the majelis ta’lim provides a positive contribution to enhancing understanding of fiqih ibadah; however, optimization of learning strategies and strengthened institutional support remain necessary to broaden its impact on the development of the community’s religious understanding.

Abstract

Education is a strategic means of acquiring knowledge and shaping human quality, including the enhancement of cognitive abilities and self-esteem. This study aims to describe the implementation and implications of teaching the Kitab Akhlak Lil Banin in shaping the personality of santri at Pondok Qur’an Dakwah NW Montong Mas. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that instruction using the Kitab Akhlak Lil Banin is conducted three times a week at dawn (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) for approximately 30 minutes, led by ustadz Hambali Watahani and attended by all male and female santri. The learning process is organized into three stages—preparation, implementation, and closing—using the wetonan method. The implications of this learning are evident in two main aspects: an increase in students’ knowledge of ethics and observable changes in daily behavior that more strongly reflect a morally grounded personality. These findings affirm that teaching the Kitab Akhlak Lil Banin plays an important role in strengthening the personality development of santri within the pondok pesantren environment.

Abstract

The quality of teachers’ academic competence in madrasah is often suboptimal due to weak implementation of educational supervision and limited integration of organizational values as the basis for professional development, as reflected in MA NWDI Wakan, which continues to face challenges in lesson planning, variation of teaching methods, classroom management, and authentic assessment. This study aimed to analyze how the madrasah principal implements NWDI value-based educational supervision to improve teachers’ academic competence. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, using in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis, which were analyzed qualitatively. The findings show that supervision is systematically designed through an analysis of teachers’ needs and the reinforcement of the values of sincerity, trustworthiness, deliberation, and togetherness as the foundation for conducting clinical supervision. Supervision is implemented through non-authoritative observation, reflective dialogue, coaching, and mentoring, while evaluation is holistic and followed by follow-up actions in the form of workshops, team teaching, and re-supervision. The results indicate a significant improvement in the quality of lesson plans (RPP), the variety of active learning methods, classroom management, and the use of authentic assessment rubrics. The study concludes that value-based and collaborative supervision is effective in strengthening teachers’ professionalism and improving the quality of instructional services in madrasah. The implications highlight the need to reinforce the integration of organizational values in supervision, expand continuous training for madrasah principals, and consider replicating this supervision model in other Islamic madrasah contexts.

Abstract

East Lombok, a district in West Nusa Tenggara Province, has substantial marine and fisheries potential, particularly in the southern coastal areas of Jerowaru and Keruak, yet this potential remains underutilized due to limited access to financing mechanisms that match the socio-economic characteristics of fishing communities. Persistent poverty among small-scale fishermen is largely driven by difficulties in obtaining business capital from formal financial institutions because they do not possess the collateral required by conventional financing systems. This study aims to analyze an alternative microfinance model for fishermen based on Islamic law by employing qualitative field research that is conceptually grounded in Jasser Auda’s systems approach with its six epistemological dimensions: Cognitive, Purposefulness, Holism, Openness, Multidimensionality, and Dynamic. The analysis focuses on how a microfinance scheme structured through murabahah can address the technical constraints faced by fishermen and support the construction of legal provisions that realize jalb al-mashalih wa daf'u al-mafasid, thereby fostering stability, justice, and welfare in their lives. The findings underscore the potential of a systems-based Islamic microfinance model to better align financing schemes with the lived realities of coastal fishing communities, contributing to more equitable access to capital and to the broader objectives of social justice and economic well-being within the framework of Islamic law.

Abstract

Religious traditions are an integral part of rural community life and play an important role in preserving Islamic culture, including in Pandan Wangi Village. This study aimed to describe and analyze the implementation of Yasinan and Al-Barzanji recitations within the religious traditions of the Pandan Wangi Village community. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic approach through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentary study. The findings show that Yasinan and Al-Barzanji recitations function not only as religious rituals but also as a medium of social cohesion, a means of moral education, and an instrument for preserving Islamic cultural values. This tradition is carried out regularly in various events, such as the commemoration of the Prophet’s Mawlid, tahlilan, and other religious activities, and it continues to be maintained amid the challenges of modernization as a collective identity and spiritual heritage transmitted across generations. This study affirms the importance of preserving local traditions as a form of cultural resilience and strengthening religious values in rural community life.

Abstract

Although the development of communication and leadership skills in student organizations has been widely studied, research that specifically analyzes the strategic management approaches of HIMMAH NWDI as a youth organization grounded in religious values remains limited. This study aimed to explore the strategic management model of HIMMAH NWDI Komisariat STIT Palapa Nusantara in enhancing members’ communication competence and leadership capacity. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design and involved four key informants, namely the Komisariat Chair, Secretary, Head of Cadre Development, and a senior member. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and analysis of organizational documents during 2024–2025. Thematic analysis identified five main strategic patterns: (1) strengthening communication through public speaking training, scholarly discussions, and dakwah rhetoric; (2) leadership formation through WAPA I, managerial training, and decision-making simulations; (3) strategic planning through Rapat Kerja and periodic evaluation; (4) implementing social activities as a medium for applied leadership; and (5) religious-ideological development through halaqah, Maulid, and internalization of NWDI character. The findings show that HIMMAH NWDI applied a hybrid strategic management model that integrates religious, intellectual, and managerial values in cadre development, indicating that strategic management plays an important role in sustaining continuous improvements in cadre quality. The study recommends strengthening digital communication training and collaborative leadership programs, provides a conceptual contribution to youth leadership studies in religious organizations, and offers a practical framework for developing a more structured, competency-oriented cadre system.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited empirical research on the religious and socio-legal perspectives of local Islamic authorities regarding virtual marriage, despite its growing relevance in the context of digital communication and transnational mobility. The study aims to analyze how ulama and Muslim intellectuals in Keruak perceive the validity of long-distance marriages conducted via virtual media, to identify the legal and theological foundations underlying their views, and to examine the social implications of these perspectives. The research adopts a qualitative case study design, with 28 participants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of ulama, Muslim intellectuals, and community-administrative informants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that virtual marriage discourse remains at a normative–theoretical level, with no empirical implementation in Keruak. Although participants acknowledge jurisprudential flexibility when essential pillars of marriage are fulfilled, they emphasize legal certainty, identity verification, and evidentiary reliability. Religious reasoning integrates classical fiqh munākahāt with maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, leading to a conditional, risk-sensitive stance prioritizing the protection of lineage, dignity, and social order. The study concludes that the absence of virtual marriage practice reflects regulatory ambiguity, institutional caution, and strong communal ritual norms rather than categorical theological rejection. Theoretically, the study contributes to socio-religious legal scholarship on digital mediation in Islamic family law. Practically, it highlights the need for regulatory clarification and technological safeguards. Future research should explore comparative contexts and institutional pilot implementations.
