Abstract

This article sheds light on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s ideas of inclusive theology in his phenomenal work, Tarjuman al-Qur’an, especially his commentary on surah al-fatihah. It is also aimed to describe its significance as education for religious pluralism in India in particular and in global world in general. Azad’s inclusive theology can be analyzed from his understanding on the concept of God, religion and unity of religion. This study mainly uses hermeneutical and philosophico-theological approach because inclusivism can be dealt with in philosophy, especially philosophy of religion. The finding is that God as the “cherisher” and “flourisher” (rabb) transcends all fragmentations and divisions of humanity in race, color, and religion. The path of universal God (rabb al-‘alāmīn) is “the right path” (sirāt al-mustaqīm) which belongs to no particular religion. For Azad, all religions in origin contain the truth and are pervaded with the same spirit the existing and variations in religions do not affect the essentials of religion. The outward path (shari’a, minhāj) may vary according to the circumstances. The difference between one religion and another are not differences in dīn, the basic provision, but in the manner of giving effect to it.

Abstract

Tafsir al-Azhar is one of the many exegesis books written by Nusantara scholars. Authored by Hamka, this book includes products come in the contemporary era and has attracted many researchers to analyze deeply all of the secrets contained in them. Tafsir al-Azhar contains a number of information related to the elements of Indonesia cultures. But not many of the readers are aware of this fact because of its relatively small capacity. It is the main attraction to be studied in depth in order to know how the construction built by a Hamka related to his Indonesian cultural thoughts contained in Tafsir al-Azhar. Using George Herbert Mead's social communication theory, this research will formulate the construction of the Indonesian cultural commentary constructed by Hamka in Tafsir al-Azhar and prove that the use of elements of Indonesian culture in interpreting the Qur'an is one of the effective strategies to teach about the Qur’anic interpretation to the Muslims in particular, and the Indonesian people in general.

Abstract

Various problems possessed by students often become stressors and symptoms of spiritual diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to resolve these issues using teaching of Sufism. This study aims to know morals education practice of Sufism and Adversity Quotient (AQ) of IAIN Salatiga students as well as contributions of learning behavior against Mysticism Adversity Quotient. This type of research is qualitative; the techniques of collecting data are interviews, observation, and documentation. Results from this study showed that, first, learning morals Sufism at IAIN Salatiga including the category of learning that meets the learning component morals mysticism, of which approach direct experience using project methods, equipped with media and learning resources that are relevant, motivating students to develop ma'rifatullah potential and has a purpose. Second, intelligence adversity of the students showed high category. This is evidenced by the high average score of students in the assessment of appropriate attitudes and behavior indicators AQ. Third, the moralteaching of Sufism contributed to the adversity quotient of IAIN Salatiga students evidenced by the formation of attitudes and behavior optimistic, confident, capable heartened, able to withstand reproach, aspire big,accept criticism and able to hit the target.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out about the subject of Islamic Education which contains tolerant values, the implementation of Islamic Education in building the tolerant characters through multiculturalism perspective, and its impacts in SMPN 1 Kaloran and SMPN 2 Kaloran. The method used in the research was qualitative research, and case study for the approach. The subjects of this research were the head master, Islamic Education teacher, and also the students in SMPN 1 Kaloran and SMPN 2 Kaloran. For the data collection technique, I used observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis technique was descriptive in analyzing contents implementation and the impact of Islamic Education implementation in shaping the tolerance character through multiculturalism perspective in SMPN 1 Kaloran and SMPN 2 Kaloran. As the results of the research, the content of tolerant values of Islamic Education in SMPN 1 Kaloran and SMPN 2 Kaloran can be found in: core competence, based competence, syllabus, and instructional books. The implementation of Islamic Education in building the tolerant characters through multicultural perspective is realized in forms of extracurricular activities, Memorial Day’s commemoration, various habits at school and learning methods used. The impact of Islamic Education in shaping the student tolerant characters are the awareness of diversity and reductions of negative prejudices of other religion’s followers resulted in the realization of the student’s harmony, one another.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of learning PAI to improve the behavior of intra-religious tolerance. This type of research is qualitative, using observation data collection techniques, interviews, and documentation. Implementation of learning PAI in SMK Karya Nugraha Boyolali has been using curriculum 2013. While SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Boyolali still not fully use the curriculum 2013. If the PAI in SMK Karya Nugraha Boyolali taught in one subject, unlike the case in SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Boyolali, subjects PAI taught separately. In addition, there are differences from Strategy, Method, Learning Resources, Media, Material, and Evaluation of Learning. Factors supporting intra-religious tolerance in SMK Karya Nugraha Boyolali is the teacher explains the various streams, without vilifying; while for the inhibiting factor is the diverse background of student organizations. Factors supporting intra-religious tolerance in SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Boyolali an open understanding, the inhibiting factor is the lack of understanding of religious knowledge related to khilafiyah which raises the most correct personal views. Efforts to increase intra-religious tolerance in SMK Karya Nugraha by conveying various kinds of schools, schools within Islam. For SMK Muhammadiyah 04 Boyolali emphasize on the explanation of the arguments khilafiyah.

Abstract

This research was aimed to give an understanding to stakeholders at educational institution especially Islamic institution in order to manage their institution by optimizing the potency they have. It is because a statement that a high quality school is a school that emphasize on good management within its insititution, administration, and human resource management. It was a descriptive qualitative research and used ovservation, interview, and documentation as the method of collecting data. To analyze the data, the researcher used data reduction because this research applied qualitative approach that was aimed to describe role of management at Muhammadiyah Vocational Scool of Bandongan Magelang Regency. Based on the result of research, Muhammadiyah Vocational School of Bandongan Magelang Regency used ISO 9001:2008 to manage the institution, it assummed that a good quality school will be reached easier and faster. Some attemps have been carried out for instance the alumni of this school have been transferred to interpreneurship or factories. Other attemps to reach high quality also have been tried by this institution to have better management by giving transparancy on every organization management, giving some sustainable training to improve professionality of personel management, and the whole quality of islamic school.

Abstract

Ruang lingkup penelitian ini kelas IV SD Negeri 02 Candirejo Kab. Semarang Tahun 2016. Fokus permasalahan dalam kajian ini adalah upaya meningkatkan kemampuan Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an (BTA) dengan menggunakan metode Yanbu’a, dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI khususnya di bidang Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian yang telah dilaksanakan selama dua siklus, melalui pendekatan metode yanbu’a terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar secara keseluruhan, yang terjadi pada nilai terendah maupun pada nilai tertinggi, sebelum tindakan, nilai terendah 10, setelah siklus I meningkat menjadi 70 dan setelah siklus II meningkat menjadi 72. Sedangkan nilai tertinggi sebelum tindakan 86, seteleh siklus I nilai tertinggi meningkat menjadi 88, sedangkan pada siklus II nilai tertinggi meningkat menjadi 100. Peningkatan ini dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya nilai rata-rata kelas pada tes awal sebesar 55,84, sedangkan pada siklus pertama nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 78,72 dan pada siklus kedua nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 90,10. Untuk siswa, nilai ketuntasan belajar yang harus di tempuh adalah (KKM ≥ 70). Pada tes awal prosentase ketuntasan sebesar 52,63%, sementara pada siklus pertama prosentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 66,66% dan pada siklus kedua prosentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 88,88%. Hasil penelitian ini berimplikasi pada guru PAI dalam mata pelajaran Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an untuk menerapkan metode yanbu’a dalam prose pembelajaran, sehingga membuat siswa lebih aktif, suasana belajar menyenangkan dan siswa mampu menjawab pertanyaan, mengerjakan soal dan pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar. This research aimed to improve Baca Tulis Al-Qur’an (BTA, Read and Write Al-Qur’an) ability by using Yanbu’a method so that the achievement of PAI lesson  will be better, especially in reading and writing al-Qur’an (BTA). This research took place in SD Negeri 02 Kab. Semarang, fourth grade. Based on the assesment of  two cycles , the method of yanbu’a can  give improvement, for the lowest and the highest assesment. Before doing research the lowest was 10, in the first cycle became 70 and the second cycle 72. For the highest, before researching was 86, in the first cycle became  88 and the second cycle 100.  The improvement of the score can be seen from the average score of the students, the first test 55, 84, the average score in the first cycle 78.72 and the average score in the second cycle 90.10.  The minimum learning mastery for the students ≥ 70. The first test the students achieved 52.63% of minimum learning mastery, the first cycle the students achieved 66,66% of minimum learning mastery and the second cycle the students achieved 88,88% above minimum learning mastery, 70. The result of this research can be applied by PAI teachers, by using Yanbu’a Method in reading and writing al-Qur’an so the students will be active, enjoyable, cheerful and have the ability to answer and do the test, so it can improve the result of the assestment. Kata kunci: kemampuan BTA, Metode Yanbu’a, hasil belajar

Abstract

Textbook has a strong influence on the formation of children’s attitudes and value system. Therefore, Islamic textbooks as the main learning source for Muslim children in Indonesia need to consider the gender equality. This is very important to note, because feminists often view that Islam contains teachings of gender inequality. Islam places men in the higher position, while women are placed in the lower position. For example, men can be imam for women in prayer, but women cannot be imam for men. It is easier for children to learn textbook material presented in pictures. Therefore, the pictures presented in Islamic textbooks ideally do not contain gender bias. So, a research is needed to know if there is gender bias in the pictures presented in Islamic textbooks taught to Muslim children in Indonesia. To prove it, a literary research is conducted on the Islamic textbooks taught to the first grade Muslim student of Islamic Elementary School/ Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Indonesia which includes pictures in their teaching materials. Islamic textbooks studied in the research include Fikih, Akidah Akhlak, and Arabic textbooks. The results of this study conclude that the pictures presented in Islamic textbooks taught in Muslim children in Indonesia contain gender bias. The man favor pictures are more than those of woman favor. Based on the conclusion, this study recommends an improvement of pictures presented in Islamic textbooks taught to Muslim children in Indonesia.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a miniature of social reality for students to play a role in society. The program is expected to develop social competence and personality competence, especially as candidate teacher of PAI (Islamic education). This research is conducted on PAI UIN Walisongo Semarang students who follow KKN activity in academic year 2016/2017.  Data collection is done by interview, observation, anddocumentation. The results of the study explained that social competence during the Community Service Program (KKN) as a whole shows the development. On the personal competence of PAI students during theCommunity Service Program (KKN) shows most of the progress. This is evidenced by the suitability of field data with indicators of personality competence, including (1) Steady and stable personality; (2) Adultpersonality; (3) Wise personality; (4) Authoritative Personality; and (5) Personality that reflects noble character. Based on the findings of researchers, there are student who have not shown progress on these fourindicators. As for factors that affect the development of students’ personalities PAI, including internal factors in the form of motivation in the activities of the Community Service Program (KKN), and externalfactors such as environment.

Abstract

AbstractCulture and language are like two sides of a coin, it cannot be separated witheach other. Therefore, when we learn a language, we cannot ignore the culture underpaining the language. However, the problem happened, when the culture of the language being learned is contradicted with our culture. English is a language mostly spoken by western people that has different culture from us (moslems). Thus, there should be a way to protect the language learners from negative foreign culture. One of ways to solve that problem is intergrating Islamic values in English language learning. Finally, this research was case study that was conducted in IAIM NU Metro Lampung, especially first semester students of English departement in speaking class. Moreover, the data obtained from interview with the lecturer, observation of teaching and learning process as well as document analysis. The  interactive data analysis used to analysis the obtained data. Moreover, the integration of islamic values was conducted by adding islamic terms, place, name, expression in teaching and learning process. Keywords: integrating; Islamic values; speaking class AbstrakBudaya dan bahasa ibarat dua sisi mata uang yang tidak dapat dipisahkan satu dengan yang lainnya. Oleh karena itu, ketika kita belajar suatu bahasa, kita tidak dapat meninggalkan budaya bahasa yang kita pelajari. Kemudian, yang menjadi permasalahan adalah, ketika budaya dari bahasa yang kita pelajari tidak sesuai atau bertentangan dengan  identitas atau budaya kita. Dalam hal ini adalah pembelajaran  bahasa Inggris, bahasa yang notabene berasal dari budaya barat yang tetunya berbeda dengan nilai-nilai budaya kita khususnya budaya atau nilai-nilai Islam. Sehingga, harus ada jalan tengah agar para pembelajar bahasa Inggris tidak kehilangan identitasnya ketika mempelajari bahasa tersebut. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tesebut dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.  Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif khususnya studi kasus yang dilaksanakan di IAIM NU Metro Lampung, khususnya pada mahasiswa semester satu Prodi Pendidikan bahasa Inggris pada matakuliah speaking1. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan dosen pengampu matakulaiah speaking1, observasi pelaksanaan pembalajaran, serta analisa dokumen. Kemudian, data yang diperoleh dianalisa menggunakan analisa data interaktif. Sehingga ditemukan bahwa pengintegrasiaan nilai-nilai keislaman pada pembelajaran speaking dilakukan dengan menambahkan istilah-istilah, tempat, nama, ekspresi-ekspresi keislaman. Kata kunci: integrasi; nilai-nilai keislaman; mata kuliah speaking
