Abstract

Jalan Lingkar Tuban is a national strategic route on the north coast of Java that serves as an alternative to overcome various obstacles. It is expected that this road can encourage the overall growth of the city, improve the convenience of vehicle accessibility, and encourage economic growth without causing congestion. To achieve this, good pavement is essential. Given the high traffic volume and overloading that will be travelled on the Tuban Ring Road, rigid pavement planning is highly recommended. The method used in this research is the AASHTO 1993 method, as it has been widely adopted by many countries abroad. The result of this research is 390 mm thick rigid pavement, 100 mm foundation layer (LMC), and 150 mm drainage layer.  The cost budget plan obtained results worth Rp 128,804,000,000 (One Hundred TwentyEight Billion Eight Hundred Four Million Rupiah).

Abstract

Earthquakes are vibrations caused by the movement of tectonic plates and volcanic activity, earthquakes that occur due to the activity of tectonic plate movements are earthquakes that cause great damage and casualties. This massive damage and loss of life occurred as a result of being crushed by the debris of buildings that collapsed due to vibrations caused by the movement of tectonic plates, Existing buildings are currently designed not to follow earthquake-resistant building standards that refer to SNI 1726: 2019. SNI 1726: 2019 there are several criteria for earthquake resistant buildings, namely the influence of the P-Delta effect, horizontal irregularities in the structure and vertical irregularities in the structure, there are two types of structures that are commonly used, namely Single System and Dual System. Single System is a Moment Bearing Frame Structure (SRPM), This type of earthquake load on the building will be carried by the columns and beams, Dual System is a Moment Bearing Frame Structure (SRPM) and Structural Wall Structure (SDS), This type combines columns, beams and shear walls as the structure to carry the earthquake loads that occur in the building. The research aims to analyze the effect of structural irregularities on Single System and Dual System structures and the level of structural performance, the results obtained Single System and Dual System structures experience several horizontal and vertical irregularities in the structure such as torsion irregularities, inner angle irregularities, weight (mass) irregularities, weak level irregularities due to discontinuities in the lateral strength level and the level of performance of Single System structures at Damage Control and Dual System at Immediate Occupancy.

Abstract

This study evaluates the outlet system design for the Budong-Budong Dam, with a focus on optimizing downstream water delivery for irrigation purposes, calculated at 410 liters per second. The outlet structures are categorized by their discharge pathways: river outlet channels, channel outlet channels, and pressurized pipe outlets. A bottom outlet is proposed to aid in meeting irrigation demands, with hydraulic analysis conducted to determine the optimal diameter for efficient water flow. Two diameters (0.4 m and 0.6 m) were analyzed for total head loss, factoring in head loss from the trash rack, entrance, and friction. Results show that a 0.4 m diameter produces a head loss of 4.2905 m, while a 0.6 m diameter produces a head loss of 1.8599 m, consistent with Bernoulli’s Principle that smaller cross-sectional areas increase head loss. Both diameters meet the required downstream discharge of 0.705 m³/s, with head loss remaining within safety limits across hollow jet valve openings. The study concludes that both diameters are feasible for downstream discharge requirements, with the installation of the bottom outlet coordinated in parallel with diversion tunnel excavation for project efficiency.

Abstract

During the construction of Tiu Suntuk Dam, the existing design could not be directly applied to construction implementation. This was due to limitations in planning scale related to space, cost, and time, necessitating a design review of several design parameters throughout the dam construction. The data required for this method includes design and embankment construction data, covering laboratory test results of material samples, dam geometry data, and quarry and borrow area locations. This review utilizes these three data sets to generate a comparison between the design from the planning stage and the actual conditions in the field, encompassing location characteristics, physical and mechanical properties of materials, and available embankment volume.

Abstract

Trains are a mode of transportation with kinetic energy used to transport goods and people. The increasing demand for the use of train transportation makes the capacity of the railway track inadequate, because the existing conditions on the Boharan - Sepanjang track still use a single track. Thus, there is a plan for a double track railway on the Boharan - Sepanjang track to reduce the risk of accidents, delays in arrival and departure. In the planning of double track railways using the method of calculating the loading of the railway track, geometric planning of the railway track, calculation of the railway structure based on Service Regulation No. 10 of 1986 concerning Railway Construction Planning and Ministerial Regulation No. 60 of 2012 concerning Railway Track Techniques. The main focus of this study is to plan a double track railway track at the Boharan station - Sepanjang station (KM 33 + 867 - KM 24 + 167). In the double track structure of the railway in the Boharan plot - Throughout the review of this double track planning, the geometric planning of the railway track is divided into 2, namely horizontal alignment using SCS (Spiral-Circle-Spiral) type curves. The output of this study is to review the safety factor of dead load collapse on the railway structure, the safety factor of slope and lateral derailment against the reinforcement of the layer has met the requirements.

Abstract

Soil shear strength is an important component in infrastructure design. Many tests can be carried out to determine the shear strength of soil. The Cone Penetration Test (CPT) is a test commonly carried out to predict the shear strength of soil. Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) is often used to predict the value of soil shear strength in the form of the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) to determine the thickness of highway pavement. The shear strength of clay soil for building design purposes is usually expressed in undrained cohesion (cu) which can be obtained from CPT testing. With DCP and CPT tests carried out at the same location, the relationship between the shear strength parameters from these tests will be obtained. The results obtained were CBR = 0.2504 qc(kg/cm2) and cu (kPa) = 14.455 CBR (%). It is hoped that these results will be a rough estimate for road pavement design because DCP testing is limited in its use (only 1 m subgrade depth).

Abstract

Deformation monitoring is carried out during each stage of the dam's lifecycle, including the construction phase, initial reservoir filling, and the post-construction phase. The construction stage is particularly crucial, as rapid structural shifts may occur, which could compromise the dam's stability due to significant soil settlement or displacement. The Pidekso Dam, situated in Giriwoyo District, is a project initiated by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), with its planning process starting in 2015. Reservoir filling began on 14 October 2021. This study utilises a descriptive analysis method based on data from multilayer settlement instrument readings at the Pidekso Dam. The research aims to examine the deformation behaviour observed during the construction phase, as indicated by the instrument readings. Measurements taken between 21 July 2020 and 14 October 2021 at Sta +179.00 revealed a settlement of -3.091 mm during construction. At MS 8, the deformation was found to exceed normal limits.
