Abstract

Poor drainage conditions, such as clogged and damaged channels, cause flooding problems. The research was conducted on Jalan Letjend Suprapto, Batam City, which has rainfall data from 2014 to 2023. The results of the analysis showed that the existing drainage system could not accommodate high rainfall that could cause flooding. The peak discharge of 0.2733 m3/s and the rain intensity of 127.24 mm/hour were obtained using hydrological and hydraulic analysis methods. Simulations using HEC-RAS 6.0 revealed that the current capacity of drainage channels is inadequate, resulting in water overflow. Therefore, this study suggests the need to normalize channels or create drainage channels with larger dimensions to reduce the risk of flooding in the future.

Abstract

Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in local government is an infrastructure financing innovation introduced as a crucial solution for infrastructure procurement and improving public services in the regions. However, the adoption of the PPP scheme in various regions is considered less than optimal, where several structural obstacles hinder the potential for private investment in supporting regional development. This problem indicates the need for a deeper understanding of the factors that influence the adoption of PPP. This study aims to analyze the context of PPP adoption and develop an adoption model using the approach of three main theories: the Diffusion of Innovation Theory, Institutional Theory, and Stakeholder Theory. Through a systematic literature review of 23 publications, it was found that the majority of PPP research focuses on the post-adoption and implementation phases. More critically, all articles using a theoretical approach (Diffusion of Innovation, Institutional, and Stakeholder) were found to examine implementation at the Central Government level, and none focused on the Local Government context. This review provides in-depth insight into the drivers and barriers of PPP adoption. The implication is that these findings serve as a vital foundation for Local Governments to formulate targeted policies, thereby accelerating PPP implementation and fostering sustainable regional development.

Abstract

Public transportation is vital in sustainable urban mobility by enhancing accessibility, reducing congestion, and minimising environmental impact. In Batam, Indonesia, the Trans Batam bus service is an affordable public transport option but faces challenges such as limited route coverage, inconsistent scheduling, and a lack of digital services. This study assesses passenger satisfaction with Trans Batam by evaluating key service factors, including route coverage, punctuality, cleanliness, comfort, affordability, driver attitude, safety, and overall reliability. A quantitative approach was adopted, utilising structured surveys with a 5-point Likert scale to measure satisfaction levels among 250 respondents along the Sekupang route. Results indicate improvements in cleanliness, comfort, affordability, driver attitude, and overall reliability, while route coverage and punctuality have declined due to route reductions and increasing traffic congestion. The study highlights the need for strategic improvements, such as expanding route coverage, optimizing scheduling, and leveraging digital tracking systems to enhance service quality. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and transport authorities to improve Batam's public transportation network and ensure long-term sustainability.

Abstract

The development of construction management is increasingly rapid along with technological advances, replacing conventional methods with a systematic software-based approach. One of its main innovations is Building Information Modeling (BIM), which was introduced in Indonesia in 2017. Autodesk Revit is a Building Information Modeling (BIM)-based design software developed by Autodesk. Revit is a popular software that supports BIM-based planning, design, and construction. One of the main challenges is preparing the right Cost Budget Plan (RAB). Budget inaccuracy is often the cause of project failure, with 30% of construction failures in Indonesia caused by budget problems. The purpose of this article is to analyze the implementation of BIM using Revit software when preparing the RAB for residential projects. This article uses a quantitative research method, with a simulation-based approach. The data needed in this article are primary data and secondary data. Based on the calculation results of the RAB using Autodesk Revit on a 2-story house, the estimated total cost obtained is IDR 97,203,000.00. While the total cost estimate using the conventional method is Rp100,065,000.00. With a difference of Rp2,862,000.00. The use of Revit in 3D modeling is more effective than the conventional method.

Abstract

A measure for evaluating the state of road pavements, including airport runways, is the Pavement Condition Index (PCI). Based on the kind, extent, and location of damage, PCI offers an unbiased assessment of the degree of road surface deterioration. Better circumstances are indicated by higher PCI values, which range from 0 to 100. PCI is necessary for runway maintenance management in order to guarantee both flight safety and the effectiveness of airport operations. PCI can be used to assess runway damage, which can be influenced by outside variables like explosive loads, and to schedule necessary maintenance. The study must account for variables that impact the degree of damage, such as the weight of the explosive charge, distance from the point of detonati on, and material quality, PCI has limits when it comes to assessing the structural state of the pavement's deeper layers, despite its considerable advantages in assessing surface damage. Therefore, to give a more comprehensive picture of runway conditions, PCI should be used in conjunction with other techniques such layer thickness testing or load testing. All things considered, PCI is a crucial instrument for managing and maintaining runways to guarantee both aviation safety and efficient airport operations.

Abstract

According to BPS Pekanbaru City Year 2023, the urbanization rate of 2,99% per year increases the volume of motor vehicles, especially at Panam Intersection which is the meeting point of Jl. Hr. Soebrantas, Jl. Raya Pekanbaru, Jl. Kubang Raya, and Jl. Garuda Sakti. The traffic light cycle time reaches 208 seconds, exceeding the PKJI 2023 threshold for 4 phases (80-130 seconds), triggering congestion of up to 200 meters on Jl. Hr. Soebrantas and Jl. Raya Pekanbaru. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the signalized intersection at Panam Intersection with alternative fly over construction. The research method uses PKJI 2023 with analysis of existing conditions and alternative scenarios. The results showed existing conditions with a degree of saturation (DJ) of 0,92> 0,85, an intersection delay of 67,26 seconds /mp, and a maximum queue length of 399 meters with category F level of service. After the construction of the flyover, the DJ decreased to 0,71, the delay to 13,54 seconds / smp, and the maximum queue length dropped to 99 meters with a category B level of service. A combination with road widening or signal phase changes is recommended to optimize traffic management.

Abstract

The Jlantah Dam is a random fill dam with a vertical core zone. One of the potential hazards of the Jlantah Dam is slope failure caused by the rapid drawdown of the reservoir water level. During a rapid drawdown event, the pore water pressure does not decrease in tandem with the rapid drop in water level. This condition can be a critical factor in slope stability due to the pore water pressure within the dam body. This study aims to analyze the stability of the Jlantah Dam under rapid drawdown conditions using three daily water level reduction scenarios: 2.3 m/day (10 days), 1 m/day (23 days), and 0.75 m/day (31 days). The rapid drawdown is conducted from the normal water level (+685) to the minimum water level (+662), with a total elevation drop of 23 meters. The analysis results show that the percentage reduction in pore water pressure under rapid drawdown conditions is 48.673% for the 2.3 m/day (10 days) scenario, 57.979% for the 1 m/day (23 days) scenario, and 60.309% for the 0.75 m/day (31 days) scenario. The minimum safety factors obtained for each scenario are 1.74023, 1.67292, and 1.6783, respectively. These values remain above the acceptance criteria for stability during rapid drawdown from normal to minimum water levels.

Abstract

Simpang Ayam Village is located in Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. This coastal area consists of peatland and faces the Malacca Strait, making it vulnerable to wave-induced abrasion. At the end of 2022, a significant landslide occurred in Simpang Ayam Village, causing substantial shoreline changes and resulting in the loss of dozens of hectares of land to the sea. Conducting manual investigations in the landslide-affected area is not feasible due to continuous land movement towards the sea, posing serious safety risks. Remote sensing technology offers an effective method to analyze shoreline changes using the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI) and vegetation density changes through the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). This study utilizes Sentinel-2 medium-resolution satellite imagery to assess these changes. The results indicate a noticeable shift in the shoreline, marked by landward advancement, and a decline in vegetation density, as evidenced by a vegetation index decrease of more than -0.1. Furthermore, the total landslide-affected area was 36.89 hectares, with the largest landslide occurring at Location 3 (15.96 hectares) and the smallest at Location 9 (0.49 hectares).
