Abstract

Disclosed generally the impact they have caused to the life of society intense seismic activity in the area, especially the tectonic situation of Ecuador and particularized on stage at the coastal territory, given its proximity to the Ring of Fire. a balance of the most intense earthquakes occurred during the twentieth century and in the time of this century and is particularized in the consequences resulting therefrom for society is shown. An analysis related to the vision deployed by the UN related to resilience as a capacity to prevent disasters and crises are addressed, as well as to foresee natural disasters, minimize them, take them into account or recover from them on time and in an efficient and sustainable including protection. The results of an assessment of the resilience evacuees at Camp “Los Tamarindos” Portoviejo city where the SV-RES scale methodology that evaluates twelve dimensions developed offered.

Abstract

Contemporarily identity reproduction at Pasek clan’s ancestors of Hindus in Mataram resulting a number of impacts such as Hindus unification based on genealogical similarity, strengthening militancy based on primordial bond called soroh, Hindus polarization, conflict in Hindu religious practice, genealogic identity reification, development of critical force, deconstruction of established religious practices, orthopraxy of religious practices, empowering member of the clan, entrance of politic and power into religious practice, priesthood status transformation, opening the opportunity to reproduce symbolic power, and developing economic capital power.

Abstract

The local culture is an important issue to be investigated since it gives much interesting process and great values. Before wedding party, there are several rites that must be done by Muna ethnic. They are feenaghoo tingguno karete, kafeena, and karompua. Feenaghoo tingguno karete is a delegation of man’s parents visits the woman’s house to ask about the status of woman. Kafeena is man’s parents delegate their relatives to bring something to woman’s house. Last, karompua is meeting of both families to discuss the time and procedures of the marriage settlement. Data of this study collected through observation and interview and analyzed based on descriptive qualitative approach. The result of this study shows that three rites have several character education meanings as follow: (1) careful; both man and woman evaluate each other before deciding to get marriage; (2) respectiveness; both families respect each other; (3) togetherness; both families help each other in holding wedding party as one family and eating together; (4) social norm; man’s family always gives something before visiting the woman’s house and the woman’s family also welcome the man’s family attendance with various dish services, and (5) philosophy meaning; in those rites conveyed several Muna’s philosophical principles.

Abstract

Indian culture has dominantly influenced the Indonesian people, particularly in the western part of the archipelago. This, which started centuries ago, can still be seen in the peoples’ daily lives in social, cultural, economic and political matters. Both the Hindu and Buddhist lessons have been practiced in Bali, although it is argued that the Buddhist lessons had been developed earlier than the Hindu ones. These developments have strongly characterized Balinese daily life, so, it is very important to understand how the people anticipate and solve some crucial issues regarding the processes of modernization and globalization. There are some important questions that need to be addressed on the Indian influences in strengthening the Balinese culture from the earlier periods until the modern and even postmodern times. In this case, the specific questions are: Firstly, how did the Balinese accept these two lessons in their daily lives in the context of Balinization processes? Secondly, what kinds of tangible and intangible cultures of the Hindu and Buddhist lessons can be seen in the present day Bali? Thirdly, how do they strengthen the Bali identity or Balinization,  known as “Ajeg Bali”? Through this analysis, it is expected to have a better understanding of the issues of social, cultural, economic and political changes in Indonesia in general and Bali in particular in modern and postmodern times.

Abstract

The most important strength in today’s volatile financial market is information. Investors always confused on the information as to where to invest, when to invest and how much to invest their money. Generally, the information derives from market or some different sources. To act on this information, analysts, experts, and researchers start researching whether the information has positive or negative impact. At individual level, an investor can also do the fundamental analysis, which will give him a better foundation for his investment decisions. This analysis helps investors in taking decision. If investor will take decision based on wrong information, the losses incurred could be tremendous and harmful and the recovery of the investment can take a lot of time or sometimes it can be irrecoverable. Hence, investors should spend a sizable amount of time for scrutinizing financial position of the company, shares of the company and calculating estimations of the same. The fundamental analysis helps to understand the patterns in company’s financial performance. One can easily predict the future performance based on fundamental analysis by using financial statements. It is generally useful for long-term investment. As quoted by John Forman, “Fundamental analysis is very powerful in terms of determining long-term direction, but lacks short-term applicability”. The researchers used some of the important key variables for a period of 10 years i.e. from 2006-07 to 2015-16 for top five automobile companies (Car-Indian Manufacturing) namely TATA Motors DVR, Mahindra CIE Automotive, SML-Isuzu, Force India and Maruti Suzuki India. The researchers also compared the fundamentals of these 5 companies and applied different statistical tools.

Abstract

Javanese lurik is weaved fabric with striped motives, and it has very simple appearance. In the past, lurik only used two colors, namely: black and white. But, as it develops, some of lurik fabrics use more than two colors, and one of the colors usually still consists of black or white color. After lurik becomes one of the prosper trading commodities, the artisans attempt to make lurik more appealing and varying in term of appearance so that it will be favored by consumers. The objective of this research is to investigate how the artisans can develop lurik patterns to stay appealing. This paper used the qualitative research with the case study strategy and phenomenological approaches. The study aims at understanding the methods employed by artisans in Cawas Klaten in developing lurik patterns. The result of the study show that (1) lurik pattern has been developed by using various alternatives of line composition and color coherence; (2) the idea of development comes from traditional lurik patterns which already existed long time ago; and (3) line and color composition used a minimum of three colors so that it looks like a rainbow, and this kind of lurik pattern becomes the characteristic of modern weaved fabric from Cawas.

Abstract

The study assessed the contributions of entrepreneurship Education course in enhancing management/ entrepreneurial skills of informal entrepreneurs and diversity management. Informal entrepreneurs are those who passed through the technical/vocational schools and have certificates with which they are carrying out their entrepreneurship as a result of the fact that they are not able to move forward academically. Two research questions guided the study. The population, which was used as the sample for the study because of its small size, was 41 informal entrepreneurs in Delta North Senatorial District of Delta State. The instruments for data collection were a 140 item questionnaire. The mean was used for data analysis. Results showed that the entrepreneurship knowledge given to these informal entrepreneurs were adequate but are not re-enforced and some of the trade areas get less of what they are supposed to get. Attention also should be given to the technical aspect. The informal entrepreneurs in their fields of business have seen the entrepreneurship education as very important. Based on these, recommendations were made.

Abstract

Women who prepare early will be better prepared both physically and psychologically to breastfeed exclusively. The purpose of this research was to determine whether the motivation variable as a mediator of the relation between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding with readiness to exclusive breastfeeding. The study was observational, A total of 150 respondents, These three variables, namely knowledge, motivation, and readiness in exclusive breastfeeding, measured by the enclosed questionnaire. Correlation between variables was analyzed with path analysis. The relation between variables in all three models was significant (p <0.001), whereas the relation between knowledge and preparedness in exclusive breastfeeding is not significant (1b = 0.142; p = 0.092). The relation between knowledge and preparedness in exclusive breastfeeding changed from the first model, into the fourth model. Besides there is a decline in the path coefficient of 0,302 became 0,142, the relation also becomes insignificant. This shows that the fourth mediation relationship condition is fulfilled. Pregnant women motivation exclusively breastfed mediates the relationship between knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding with maternal readiness in exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

The study aimed at establishing an assessment of hygiene maintenance factors effects on employees’productivity. The hygiene/maintenance factors play vital role in employees’ productivity. They do not motivate employee in organization, yet they must be present or dissatisfaction will arise. . The study is aimed to pursue the following objectives: To determine the extent to which working conditions improve the performance of employees, to ascertain the effect of interpersonal relations within the organization on firms’ profitability and to assesthe extent to whichcompensation improve the performance of employees.The study was conducted using the survey approach. The geographical scope of the study was Mobile telecommunication network (MTN), located within Enugu metropolis. Two sources of data were utilized in the study: they included primary and secondary sources. The primary source wasthrough the administration of copies of designed questionnaire to a total of forty one respondents that made up the sample size for the study.
