Abstract

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most common childhood neurobiologic disorder with main symptom of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity and minimal occurrence in two different place settings, for example at home and at school. ADHD disorders will last sustainably from adolescence to adulthood. Mothers of ADHD children tend to be anxious, tired and desperate because they are often blamed by the environment for failing to educate children due to opposing children's behavior, disobeying orders that result in ADHD children being rejected and experiencing low learning achievement. Mothers are also often must lose his job due to having to take care of his own ADHD child.Methods: Observational analytic study with cross sectional design of 30 mothers of ADHD children aged 6 to 12 years of Bina Karya primary school Surabaya by random sampling method. Assessment of ADHD by mothers using SPAHI (Skala Penilaiana Anak Hiperaktif Indonesia) and maternal anxiety assessment using Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale questionnaire Results: there was significant correlation between maternal anxiety level and severity of ADHD with score p = 0.003 and r = 0.530 Conclusion: The degree of maternal anxiety is related to the severity of ADHD. Abstract

Pneumonia is respiratory infection disease which effects lungs and there are many cases on under five children. Prevalence period of pneumonia case in Mempawah district the fourth highest of 3.6% of other districts. The purpose of this study was to prove family behavior that are risk of pneumonia in under five children in Mempawah district. This study used case control design. Subject of the study was 100 respondents which consisted of 50 cases and 50 controls meeting the criteria of inclusion. This research use consecutive sampling techniques. Data analysis uses logistic regression. Data were analysed by logistic regression method. Result of analysis shows that history of not exclusive breastfeeding (OR=11.391; 95%CI: 3.087-42.028), habits of not opening room windows (OR= 9.528; 95%CI: 2.699-33.640), existence of pets (OR= 7.871; 95%CI: 2.381-26.019) dwelling density (OR=6.623; 95%CI=1.770-24.785) are proven as risk factors of pneumonia in under five children. Family behaviors as history of not exclusive breastfeeding, habits of not opening room windows, existence of pets, and dwelling density are proven as risk factors of pneumonia in under five children.Keywords: Family behavior, Pneumonia, Under five children

Abstract

Children are next generation for a nation. It is expected that the children have high quality, which is indicated by healthy growth and development. However, many things were occurred in line with the children’s growth and development. People’s independence for caring their children’s health could be improved by using KIA book (mother and children’s health book). Government had organized a program for improving the use of KIA book, which was through coordinating parenting class. Moreover, this research aimed at knowing the effectiveness of parenting class against the change of mother’s behavior in stimulating 2-5 years aged toddler’s growth and development at Poncol Village, Poncol Sub-district, Magetan District, East Java Province, Indonesia. This research was pre-experimental research with one- group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was all mothers who had 2-5 years aged toddler at Poncol Village, Poncol Sub-district, Magetan District, East Java Province, Indonesia in June 2017 and they were 59 mothers. Data collection was conducted through pretest and posttest. The research instrument utilized questionnaire. Meanwhile, data analysis utilized statistic test of paired sample t test with α 0,05. The result of data analysis for the knowledge regarding stimulation that was obtained p= 0.000 was concluded that there was a significant difference of mother’s knowledge regarding stimulation of 2-5 years aged toddler’s growth and development between before and after joining parenting class. P value for stimulation practice that was obtained p= 0.000 was concluded that there was a significant difference of mother’s practice in stimulating her 2-5 years aged toddler between before and after joining parenting class. Furthermore, the conclusion was parenting class changed effectively the mother’s behavior in stimulating 2-5 years aged toddler’s growth and development at Poncol Village, Poncol Sub-district, Magetan District, East Java, Indonesia. However, it was expected for either Poncol Village or other villages in Public Health Center of Poncol area to be able to conduct parenting class continuously in order to improve mother’s behavior in stimulating her toddler’s growth and development.Keywords: Parenting class, Stimulation, Growth, Development

Abstract

Noise exposure with high intensity on working environment during long time exposure could induce physic and physicologycally disorder, giving feeling of uncomfortable and would affect stress and worker quality of life. In other side, social environment at working places that consist of social capital, family support, and good style of leadership phsyicologically giving feeling of comfortable and would reduce phsycologycal burden of workers. Aim of this study was to knew effect of environmental noise and social environment simultaneously toward quality life of workers. This study was conducted on workers of PT Kusumahadi Santosa, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java Province, Indonesia. Samples were 250 workers, selected by simple random sampling method. Exogenous variable consist of environmental noise, social capital, family support, leadership style, workers status and age. Endogenous variable on this study was quality of life. Data from all variables collected by using questionnaire and analyse with Path Analysis. Result of this study showed that environmental noise on weaving department affect quality of life by stress. Good social capital on working places affect quality of life of workers. Good works support affect quality life of workers. Keywords: Noise, Social environment, Quality of life

Abstract

Midwives are part of one health worker who has a strategic role in health development in Indonesia, so that standardized preparation efforts are needed since their education. In connection with the above, continuously efforts have been made to standardize the implementation of midwifery education in Indonesia, which in turn aims to produce midwives who are truly ready to play a role in playing a role in health development especially maternal and child health. Abstract

Changes in the elderly due to the aging process caused decrease physical abilities and health conditions. These natural changes may cause depression and lower quality of life in the elderly. Spiritual experience may improve appraisal, reduce depression, and enhance the quality of life. This study aimed to estimate the relationship between spiritual experience, appraisal, depression, and quality of life in the elderly. A randomly selected sample of 100 elderly from 18 villages in Mojokerto East Java. An interview-based questionnaire was used to obtain information about spiritual experience, appraisal, psychological well-being and social relationships. The Index Barthel has used measure activities daily living among elderly. The rate of depression was measured by Geriatric Depression Scale. The relationships among variables were estimated using Structural Equation Model (SEM) run in AMOS program. Spiritual experience had the negative effect of depression (p=0.004). The appraisal was not significantly effected on the level of depression (p=0.13). Depression had the negative effect on quality of life (p=0.03). Spiritual experience had the positive effect on quality of life (p=0.000). Spiritual experience, appraisal, and depression have the positively significant influence on the quality of life, but appraisal was not as the determinant to depression. If the spiritual experience of elderly good, the elderly do not occur depression without any perception of elderly appraisal to a stressor.Keywords: Spiritual experience, Appraisal, Depression, Quality of life, Elderly

Abstract

Specialist clinic of Obstetric and Gynecology care of Mitra Keluarga Waru Hospital is a service that needed by the community and contributes to the decreasing of Maternal and Infant Mortality Rate. Health and growing fetus was very important care service, it needs to be monitored its growth during pregnancy. Based on these conditions, Mitra Keluarga Waru Hospital should always maintain and improve the quality of service. One of the steps is to measure the level of patient satisfaction. The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of service quality based on Gronroos Method that consisting of professionalism and skills, behaviour and attitudes, accessibility and flexibility, reliability and trustworthiness, recovery, reputation and credibility to patient satisfactionin Mitra Keluarga Waru Hospital Sidoarjo. The population was outpatients who use services, and sample of 30 people. Collecting data using questionnaires and documentary study. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics with Frequency distribution, all dimension was on “Very Satisfied” category. Then the research showed: Professionalism and skills Score 671 and Average 4.47; Reliability and trustworthiness Score 654 and Average 4.36; Behaviour and Attitudes Score 763 and Average 4.24; Accessibility and Flexibility Score 665 and Average 4.43; Service recovery Score 381 and Average 4.23; and Reputation and Credibility Score 524 and Average 4.37. Abstract

Cervical cancer is currently ranked top among the various types of cancer that causes death in women in the world. The majority of women who diagnosed with cervical cancer did not do screening tests or did not follow up after abnormal results were found. The purpose of this research was to know how path analysis between motivation variable, self efficacy and trigger in the implementation of screening cervical cancer using Visual Inspection With Acetic Acid (VIA). This research used case control design. Sample size was based on the calculation of rule of the thumb. There were 410 respondents that were divided into 205 cases and 205 controls. The sample used multi stage random sampling method. The data were analyzed by using Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). There was a positive influence of trigger variable to self efficacy and motivation variable. There was positive influence of self efficacy variable toward motivation variable and the implementation of early detection of cervical cancer VIA. There was a positive influence of self efficacy variable and motivation to the execution of early detection of cervical cancer VIA. Abstract

Introduction: Leukemia is one of the conditions of chronic disease in children. Families of children with chronic health conditions often feel helpless in meeting their child's health care needs. Powerlessness experienced by the family will affect the ability of families in providing care to their children. Many factors can affect the empowerment of families in providing care to their families. Method: This study aims to analyze family factors that affect family empowerment in treating children with leukemia leukemia. The research design used is explanation survey. The population in this study were families with children suffering from leukemia in Pediatric Ward RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya. Result: The results showed that there was the influence of family factor to family empowerment in caring children with leukemia equal to t: 3.801. Discussion and Conclusions: Family factors need to be taken into account in family-centered empowerment, so families can improve their ability to care for leukemia children. Increased family-based health involves the strength and ability of families in coping mechanisms, the role of nurses, to encourage families to provide support in health care. More research is needed on family-centered empowerment models in the ability to care for children with leukemia. Factors that affect family empowerment in caring for child leukemia, can be considered nurse in giving nursing intervention especially child nurse in empowering parent at the time care of child leukemia.Keywords: Leukemia, Children, Family, Factor, Empowerment

Abstract

Facilitative supervision by coordinator midwife of Public Health Center (PHC) to the midwife of village in Lumajang District carried out since 2009, but until now the implementation has not been effective. This can be seen from the secondary data Lumajang District Health Office 2016 are 56% of PHC reported results late facilitative supervision MCH program. Preliminary study shows the results of 70% of midwives in the villages do not get facilitative supervision by a midwife of PHC regularly; 60% of midwife of PHC did facilitative supervision visits to the midwife in accordance with the agreement stipulated period; and 60% expressed no real follow-up from the supervisors to the problems faced. This study was conducted to determine the variables that affect the implementation of facilitative supervision MCH program in Lumajang. The study design was an observational analytic. The sampling technique study determined through proportional cluster sampling. Based on the survey results revealed knowledge (r = 0.625), motivation (r = 0.658), perceptions of leadership (r = 0.711) had a strong relationship to the performance center midwife in the implementation and supervision facilitative MCH programs, while the workload (r = 0.585) had moderate level relationship to the dependent variable.Keywords: Supervision, Midwives, Performance
