Abstract

Islamic boarding school Sidogiri is one of the school which has 8.400 male students. The sanitary conditions of Islamic boarding school are closely related to the contagion rate of contagious environment-based diseases, one of which is Hepatitis A. Islamic boarding school Sidogiri experiencing Hepatitis A outbreak in 2014, attacked as many as 111 students. This research was conducted to find out the correlation between students behavior (knowledge, attitude, and action) with incident and prevalence of Hepatitis A. The type of research was analytic observational research by analyzing behavior with the occurrence of Hepatitis A (IgG and IgM). The study was conducted in Islamic boarding school Sidogiri Kraton subdistrict in Pasuruan district from July 2017 until March 2018. The population in this study were all students in Islamic boarding school Sidogiri. Sample selection was done randomly so that got sample amount 38 people. The result of this research mentioned that attitude and action factor have significant influence to the occurrence of hepatitis A (IgG) with p-value equal to 0.017. The lower the attitudes and actions, the higher the prevalence of IgG. While the action factor has a significant effect on the incidence of Hepatitis A (IgM) with p value of 0.001. The lower the action, the higher the prevalence of IgM. Socialization, promotion and health education needs to be done to reduce the risk of contracting hepatitis A. Abstract

The prevalence and death due to low birth weight (LBW) is still high in Kupang. There are multifactorial causes of LBW which can be categorized into: physical and social environment, mother, fetus, placenta and umbilical cord, and health service. From maternal factors, there are sub-factors of maternal characteristic such as knowledge of pregnancy, maternal health status, and the behavior of pregnancy care. The behavior of pregnancy care can be in the form of a traditional pregnancy care, which may lead to LBW. Most researches on the risk factor of LBW are related to clinical medical factors. This research aimed to determine the socio-demographic and cultural factors which are related to the occurrence of LBW in Kupang. This research used analytic observational method with case-control design, on 50 mothers giving birth to LBW and 50 mothers who delivered normal babies, through interview and tracing of maternal and infant medical records. To eliminate the clinical factors of medical causes of LBW (anemia, hypertension, pre-eclampsia, and infection), inclusion criterion was applied, as follows: mothers who give birth to normal childbirth, single infants, and have received integrated Antenatal Care (ANC) service. Exclusion criteria were: mothers give birth to twisted umbilical cord, placental weight <500 grams, infant with congenital defect, and incomplete medical records. This research took place at Prof. DR. W.Z. Johannes Hospital, Dedari Hospital and 2 Public Health Center in Kupang. Data analysis used logistic regression. The final results of logistic regression model of this study founded 5 variables that affect the occurrence of LBW in Kupang, beside the medical clinical factors, such as: maternal age, maternal education, BMI, increase the body weight during pregnancy, and heavy work during pregnancy. Abstract

One of midwifery student’s competences is can handle postpartum haemorrhage. Thus, it is needed learning of ideal laboratory practice through learning media of uterus model, which it resembles the real uterus organ. Meanwhile, the available learning media of uterus model is still less sufficient, hence, it needs to be conducted a research regarding learning media of uterus model that resembles its original uterus organ so that it will be easier to be understood by the students. Moreover, this research aimed at conducting evaluation of the available uterus model, arranging learning development through uterus model media, and conducting field experiment I. Design of this research was experimental research, which the research was conducted through experiment of making learning media in form of uterus model. Afterwards, it was analyzed by utilizing Test. The result showed evaluation against available uterus model, which most of them were not appropriate with uterus structure (73.16%). Development of learning media resulted uterus model product, which afterwards, it was conducted field experiment I and it showed that there was a significant difference of understanding between available uterus model and developed uterus model (p-value = 0.000). Therefore, it was suggested to conduct further research in stage II that involved test against uterus model function of development result and to recommend the development result to users and professionals. Abstract

Not only the health promotion about Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) examination and servical cancer but also free for VIA examination have been held in Polindes Tanjunganom, but the scope of VIA examination is still in low grade. Health Belief Model (HBM) theory is used to evaluate and explain the differences of individual perception towards preventive behaviors. This study was aimed to analyze the factors correlating with VIA examination in women by HBM. Design used in this study was cross sectional. The population was all child bearing women in Tanjunganom Public Health Center. Total sample was 50 respondents, taken according to simple random technique. The independent variabels were perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, and cues to action. The dependent variabel was VIA examination. Data were collected by using structured questionnaire and analyzed by using chi square test with level of significance of ≤ 0,05. Results showed that perceived susceptibility had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,026), perceived seriousness had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,004), perceived benefits had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,016), perceived barriers had correlation with VIA examination (p=0,016), and cues to action (p=0,000) had correlation with VIA examination. It can be concluded that HBM has correlation with VIA examination and cues to action has the strongest variabel related to VIA examination. Further studies should involve larger respondents and better measurement tools to obtain more accurate results. Abstract

The important period of the child growth and development is the time when a child is at the age of 0-5 because the abilities in language, creativity, social awareness emotion, and intelligence develop very rapidly and function as the base for the next developmental stages. Approximately 5-10% of children experience developmental delay. This observational analytical study was conducted in a cohort design using longitudinal or time period approach. Questionnaires were used to collect the primary data. The method used to choose the samples was consecutive sampling. Moreover, data analysis was done by using multiple logistic regression test. The results of this study showed that the dominant developmental disorder happening to the children under five was speech delay. The results of analysis using multiple logistic regression test showed that there were significant effects of stimulation on gross motor p = 0.034, on fine motor p = 0.037, on speech and language p = 0.036, and on social independence.p = 0.036. Thus, there were significant effects of stimulation on developmental disorder. Keywords: Stimulation, Developmental disorder, Children
