Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine how the concepts within Muʿtazilite uṣūl al-fiqh, particularly as formulated in Kitāb al-Muʿtamad fī Uṣūl al-Fiqh by Abū al-Ḥusain al-Baṣrī, can offer a theoretical response to contemporary issues concerning LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) behavior. The study employs a qualitative method based on library research, using a thematic analysis approach to explore normative ideas in the aforementioned text. The primary focus is directed toward the exploration of two foundational uṣūl principles in Muʿtazilite thought: the classification of human acts (al-Afʿāl) and the method of legal analogy (al-Qiyās al-Sharʿī), both of which are grounded in the principles of rationality and justice. The findings suggest that LGBT behavior, within the framework of al-Muʿtamad, can be categorized under the spectrum of qabīḥ (morally reprehensible) actions. Nevertheless, the rationalist nature of the Muʿtazilite approach opens up possibilities for a contextual re-evaluation of this legal classification, taking into account modern developments in social norms and human rights discourse. This study does not intend to render a rigid legal verdict but rather proposes a reflective space for developing a more inclusive and adaptive fiqh. Accordingly, the main contribution of this research lies in strengthening the discourse of uṣūl al-fiqh based on reason and universal values, thereby creating a bridge between classical texts and contemporary socio-religious challenges. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah bagaimana konsep-konsep dalam ushul fikih Muʿtazilah, khususnya sebagaimana dirumuskan dalam Kitab al-Muʿtamad fī Uṣūl al-Fiqh karya Abu al-Husain al-Bashri, dapat memberikan respons teoretis terhadap problematika kontemporer mengenai perilaku LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, dan Transgender). Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berbasis studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan analisis tematik terhadap gagasan normatif dalam kitab tersebut. Fokus utama diarahkan pada eksplorasi dua perangkat ushul utama dalam pemikiran Muʿtazilah, yaitu klasifikasi tindakan (al-Af‘āl) dan metode analogi hukum (al-Qiyās al-Syarʿī), yang keduanya dibangun di atas asas rasionalitas dan keadilan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku LGBT dalam kerangka al-Muʿtamad dapat dikategorikan ke dalam spektrum perbuatan qabīḥ (tercela). Namun demikian, sifat rasionalistik dari pendekatan Muʿtazilah membuka peluang untuk mempertimbangkan ulang kategori hukum tersebut secara lebih kontekstual, dengan memperhatikan perkembangan sosial dan wacana hak asasi manusia masa kini. Penelitian ini tidak bertujuan untuk memberikan vonis hukum yang kaku, melainkan mengusulkan ruang reflektif bagi pengembangan fikih yang lebih inklusif dan adaptif. Dengan demikian, kontribusi utama studi ini terletak pada penguatan diskursus ushul fikih berbasis nalar dan nilai-nilai universal, yang dapat menjembatani teks klasik dengan tantangan sosial keagamaan modern.

Abstract

AbstractQasidah Al-Burdah by Imam Al-Busiri is a masterpiece of classical Arabic literature, renowned for its spiritual values and aesthetic linguistic qualities. This study aims to describe the forms of tashbih (simile) found in Qasidah Al-Burdah, analyze their symbolic meanings, and explore the function of tashbih as an imaginative medium for conveying religious and Sufi messages. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with stylistic and literary symbolism approaches. Data were analyzed through identification, classification, and interpretation of the verses containing tashbih. The results reveal that tashbih in Qasidah Al-Burdah plays a significant role not only as a rhetorical device, but also as a poetic symbol that enriches spiritual values, prophetic love, and Sufi experiences. These findings highlight the contribution of tashbih as a bridge between language, imagination, and spiritual messages within the aesthetic framework of classical Arabic poetry.AbstrakQashidah Al-Burdah karya Imam Al-Busiri merupakan salah satu mahakarya dalam sastra Arab klasik yang memadukan nilai spiritual dan keindahan estetika bahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk tasybih yang terdapat dalam Qashidah Al-Burdah, menganalisis makna simbolik yang dikandungnya, serta mengeksplorasi fungsi tasybih sebagai sarana ekspresi imajinatif dalam menyampaikan pesan religius dan sufistik. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan stilistika dan simbolisme sastra. Data dianalisis melalui identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi bait-bait qashidah yang mengandung unsur tasybih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tasybih dalam Qashidah Al-Burdah berperan penting tidak hanya sebagai ornamen retoris, tetapi juga sebagai simbol puitis yang memperkuat nilai-nilai spiritual, cinta profetik, dan pengalaman sufistik. Temuan ini menegaskan kontribusi tasybih sebagai jembatan antara bahasa, imajinasi, dan pesan spiritual dalam kerangka estetika sastra Arab klasik.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine the transformation process of educational management at Madrasah Aliyah Istiqlal Jakarta in responding to the challenges of the digital era. The transformation is carried out as a response to the rapid development of information technology, which requires educational institutions to adapt swiftly and effectively. The research employs a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that Madrasah Aliyah Istiqlal has implemented various innovations in educational management, including the integration of technology in the learning process, enhancement of teachers' digital competencies, and the provision of supporting facilities such as multimedia rooms and computer laboratories. Although there are still obstacles, such as limited internet access and shared facility usage schedules, these transformation efforts demonstrate the school’s strong commitment to creating a modern, adaptive learning environment aligned with 21st-century educational needs. Therefore, the transformation of educational management at Madrasah Aliyah Istiqlal Jakarta serves as a model of best practices in developing a digital-based madrasah that upholds Islamic values.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses transformasi manajemen pendidikan Madrasah Aliyah di Madrasah Istiqlal Jakarta dalam menghadapi tantangan era digital. Transformasi dilakukan sebagai respon terhadap perkembangan teknologi informasi yang menuntut lembaga pendidikan untuk beradaptasi secara cepat dan efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Madrasah Aliyah Istiqlal telah melakukan sejumlah inovasi dalam manajemen pendidikan, meliputi integrasi teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran, peningkatan kompetensi guru di bidang digital, serta penyediaan sarana pendukung seperti ruang multimedia dan laboratorium komputer. Meski masih terdapat kendala, seperti akses internet yang terbatas dan sistem penggunaan fasilitas yang bergiliran, upaya transformasi ini membuktikan komitmen madrasah dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang adaptif, modern, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan peserta didik di abad ke-21. Dengan demikian, transformasi manajemen pendidikan di Madrasah Aliyah Istiqlal Jakarta menjadi contoh praktik baik dalam membangun madrasah berbasis digital yang tetap menjunjung nilai-nilai keislaman.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to examine the challenges of character education in the digital era, focusing on the synergy between families and schools in addressing the influence of technology. The research employed a qualitative method through literature review, observation, and interviews with teachers, parents, and students at SDN Total Persada, Tangerang City. The findings reveal four main challenges: disruption of family communication due to excessive gadget use, value conflicts between moral teachings and digital content, declining effectiveness of conventional methods in the face of digital-generation learning styles, and unequal access to technology. Gadget use, predominantly for gaming and social media, hinders the internalization of values such as patience, honesty, and empathy. Parental supervision strategies including structured schedules, online controls, and intensive communication have proven helpful but require consistency and mediation skills. Schools play a crucial role through a whole-school approach integrating collaborative learning and behavioral assessment, although differing views on total bans versus wise gadget use at school remain a dilemma. This study recommends strengthening parents’ digital literacy, integrating character education methods with 21st-century skills, and implementing collaborative policies that minimize technological risks while maximizing its potential to shape a generation that is virtuous, resilient, and digitally literate. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji tantangan pendidikan karakter di era digital dengan menyoroti sinergi keluarga dan sekolah dalam menghadapi pengaruh teknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, melalui studi kepustakaan, observasi, dan wawancara dengan guru, orang tua, dan siswa di SDN Total Persada Kota Tangerang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter menghadapi empat tantangan utama: disrupsi komunikasi keluarga akibat penggunaan gawai berlebihan, konflik nilai antara ajaran moral dan konten digital, penurunan efektivitas metode konvensional di hadapan gaya belajar generasi digital, serta ketimpangan akses teknologi. Penggunaan gawai yang dominan untuk game dan media sosial menghambat internalisasi nilai kesabaran, kejujuran, dan empati. Strategi pengawasan orang tua, meliputi jadwal terstruktur, kontrol daring, dan komunikasi intensif terbukti membantu namun memerlukan konsistensi dan keterampilan mediasi. Sekolah memainkan peran penting melalui pendekatan whole-school yang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran kolaboratif dan evaluasi perilaku, meskipun perbedaan pandangan mengenai larangan total atau penggunaan bijak gawai di sekolah tetap menjadi dilema. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penguatan literasi digital orang tua, integrasi metode pembelajaran karakter dengan keterampilan abad ke-21, serta kebijakan kolaboratif yang meminimalkan risiko teknologi dan memaksimalkan potensinya untuk membentuk generasi berkarakter, tangguh, dan cerdas digital.

Abstract

AbstractThis article examines the concept of istidraj in Hamka’s Tafsir al-Azhar and its relevance to the religious behaviour of Generation Z within digital ecosystems. Drawing on a literature-based study that employs thematic and hermeneutic analysis of Q 3:178, 6:44, and 7:182 alongside recent scholarship on digital culture, the study advances a clear novelty: an operationalised framework of istidraj indicators tailored to social-media contexts. The framework highlights indulgences that foster heedlessness, visible in binge-scrolling and the postponement of worship; the broadening of pleasures that dull ethical sensitivity, reflected in impulsive consumption and digital flexing; and an illusion of success or safety from moral consequences, manifest in performative narcissism and religious overconfidence. Findings show that this mapping functions as a theological evaluation tool for diagnosing erosions of piety online while also guiding educational interventions. Practical implications include integrating verse-based digital-ethical literacy modules into Islamic Education courses, designing campus da‘wah content such as short videos and podcasts that internalises the signs of istidraj, and employing a digital self-accountability rubric for student mentorship. The study is limited by its non-empirical scope and reliance on a single tafsīr corpus, which precludes direct behavioural measurement. Future work should involve field research through surveys or in-depth interviews, the development of a psychometric scale for istidraj indicators, and experimental tests of digital da‘wah materials built on this framework. AbstrakPenelitian ini menganalisis konsep istidraj dalam Tafsir Al-Azhar karya Buya Hamka dan relevansinya terhadap perilaku religius Generasi Z di ekosistem digital. Berbasis studi pustaka dengan analisis tematik–hermeneutik atas QS Āli ‘Imrān 3:178, Al-An‘ām 6:44, dan Al-A‘rāf 7:182 beserta literatur mutakhir tentang budaya digital, penelitian ini menonjolkan kebaruan berupa kerangka indikator istidraj yang teroperasionalisasi untuk konteks media sosial. Kerangka tersebut ditandai oleh pembiaran kenikmatan yang melalaikan yang tampak pada binge-scrolling dan penundaan ibadah, pelapangan kesenangan yang menumpulkan kepekaan etis yang tercermin dalam impuls konsumsi dan praktik flexing digital, serta ilusi keberhasilan atau rasa aman dari konsekuensi moral yang hadir sebagai narsisme performatif dan overconfidence religius. Temuan memperlihatkan bahwa pemetaan ini efektif sebagai alat evaluasi teologis untuk membaca degradasi kesalehan di ruang daring sekaligus memandu intervensi pendidikan. Implikasi praktis meliputi integrasi modul literasi digital-etis berbasis ayat dalam pembelajaran PAI, perancangan konten dakwah kampus seperti video pendek dan podcast yang menginternalisasikan tanda-tanda istidraj, serta penggunaan rubrik muhasabah digital untuk pembinaan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini terbatas pada pendekatan non-empirik dan fokus pada satu korpus tafsir, sehingga belum mengukur perilaku secara langsung. Ke depan, disarankan studi lapangan melalui survei atau wawancara mendalam, pengembangan skala psikometrik indikator istidraj, dan uji coba efektivitas materi dakwah digital yang dibangun dari kerangka ini.

Abstract

AbstractThis study analyzes the effectiveness of developing madrasah principals’ leadership based on local assets and Islamic management values through the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach in Bandung, Indonesia. A qualitative applied method was employed using the five-phase ABCD framework like Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. Participants included the Head of Madrasah Affairs at the Bandung Ministry of Religious Affairs, four supervisors, and ten principals representing RA, MI, MTs, and MA levels. Data were collected through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), structured observations, and document analysis, and validated using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results show that the ABCD approach effectively strengthened principals’ leadership capacities by systematically leveraging human, social, natural, infrastructural, and financial assets. All madrasahs produced validated asset maps; nine action plans achieved feasibility scores ≥70, and seven madrasahs implemented over 70% of their priority actions. The values of amanah (trust), adl (justice), shura (consultation), itqan (excellence), and ihsan (benevolence) served as ethical foundations guiding consistent and collaborative leadership. This study concludes that asset-based and value-driven leadership through small, high-impact actions enhances managerial effectiveness and can be replicated in other urban madrasahs.AbstrakPenelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas pengembangan kepemimpinan kepala madrasah berbasis aset lokal dan nilai-nilai manajemen Islam melalui pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) di Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif terapan dengan tahapan Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, dan Destiny. Partisipan meliputi Kepala Seksi Pendidikan Madrasah Kemenag Kota Bandung, empat pengawas, dan sepuluh kepala madrasah pada jenjang RA, MI, MTs, dan MA. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, FGD, observasi, dan analisis dokumen, serta divalidasi melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ABCD efektif memperkuat kapasitas kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dengan memanfaatkan aset manusia, sosial, alam, infrastruktur, dan finansial secara terarah. Seluruh madrasah menghasilkan peta aset tervalidasi; sembilan rencana aksi mencapai skor kelayakan ≥70, dan tujuh madrasah merealisasikan lebih dari 70% aksi prioritas. Nilai-nilai amanah, adil, musyawarah, itqan, dan ihsan berfungsi sebagai landasan etis yang menuntun konsistensi dan kolaborasi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan berbasis aset dan nilai Islam melalui langkah-langkah kecil bernilai tinggi mampu meningkatkan efektivitas manajerial kepala madrasah serta layak direplikasi dalam jejaring madrasah urban
