Abstract

This study aimed to describe (1) the increase in activity of students in reading comprehension with Think-Pair-Share (TPS) learning model and (2) describe an increase in the ability of students in reading comprehension with TPS learning model At VII B  rade Students of Junior High School 2 Nglipar Gunung Kidul Academic Year  2013/2014. This study is  an action  research which  is implemented in cycles. After cycle II, more than 80% students finish individually. Methods of data collection in this study using observation, test, and interview. The results of this study indicate that (1) TPS learning model can improve student learning activity of reading comprehension in the learning process and (2) TPS  learning model  can improve  the ability  of students  in teaching  reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research aimed at (1) describing the kinds of adjective phrase in Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang, (2) describing the categories of attribute filler words in the adjective phrase in Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang, (3) explaining the structure of adjective phrase in Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang, and (4) explaining the syntactic function of adjective phrase in Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang. This research was classified as a descriptive qualitative research. This research data is a sentence that contains an adjective phrase in Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang. The data source of this research is Cerpen Pilihan Kompas 2013 Klub Solidaritas Suami Hilang which contains 23 short stories. The methods and techniques used during the data collection process were the methods of referring to the skillful dan free listening technique dan note it. The data analysis method and technique used is the agih with techniques for direct elements, slipping techniques, reverse techniques, expanded techniques, and constituent sentence analysis techniques. The method of presenting the results of data analysis is done with informal presentation methods. The results of this research are as follows. (1) the classified of adjective phrase based on the core consistent of (a) adjectival attributive phrase and (b) coordinative adjectival phrase. Filler word categories adjectival phrase attributes consist of verbs, adverbs, nouns, pronouns, and adjectives. Abstract

The objectives of the research are to find out: (1) the use of figurative language, (2) the function of each figurative language to build the essence of the novel. The research is descriptive qualitative. The research data are the series of events using figurative language. The source is a novel entitled ‘Anak Semua Bangsa’ by Pramoedya Ananta Toer published by Hasta Mitra Jakarta. The research instrument is independent research concentrating on the types and the functions of figurative language. The technique of collecting data is observation; meanwhile, the technique of analyzing data is descriptive qualitative. Based on the analysis, research results can be drawn. Firstly, 70 (97.2%) of 72 figurative languages are a figure of speech. Secondly, 35 (50%) of 70 figure of speech, are simile and epic simile, 6 (8.6%) hyperbolic, and 1 (1.4%) synecdoche. The functions of simile are to express purity, surprise, and description. The functions of metaphor are to raise internal emotion and build concrete sense. The dominant functions of personification are to revive imagination, explain elaboration, and reflect the inanimate objects. The functions of hyperbolic are to strengthen the meaning and empower the impression. The function of synecdoche is to point out the essential part of an object.

Abstract

            The objective of the study is to describe Riffaterre semiotika’s meaning of “Bulan Kuning Sudah Tenggelam” based on: 1) indirect expression, 2) reading of heuristic and hermeutik (retroactive), 3) finding matrix, model, and variant, 4) finding hipogram of ‘Bulan Kuning Sudah Tengeelam” short story. The research data were analyzed by qualitative techique. The source of the data was “Bulan Kuning Sudah Tenggelam” short story by Ahmad Tohari. The population of the data was sentences and paragraphs of an event that contained meaningful sign in “ Bulan Kuning Sudah Tenggelam”. The research instrument was researcher who were armed with the concept of meaningful sign system by semiotic theory. The data collecting method of this study was hermeneutika method and  the data collecting techniques were read, write, and book. For the data analysis techinque, the researcher used descriptive qualitative and descriptive analysis method. The results of this research were: 1) the indirect expression consisted of (a) change of meaning, such as kiri-kanan (metomini) replaced by neighbour (b) deviation meaning, such as Oh that was a deviation meaning of admiration, apologetic, wonder, and understanding (c) the creation of meaning, such as //Apabila//, //Apabila//, //Apabila//, //Apabila// that was ended by same vocal //a// //a// //a// 2) reading of heuristic could be found by explicit and reading by hermeneutik could be found by implicit 3) the matrix was rebellion: the model was moon: the variants were the main problems in the story 4) the hipogram was Roman Bumi Manusia novel by Pramoedya Ananta Toer.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the structure of the myth of the kyai Panjala cupu, (2) the meaning of the ritual of the cupu kyai panjala, and (3) the mindset, the view of life, and the worldview of the Mendak community. This research is a type of qualitative research with an ethnolinguistic approach. This research data is in the form of words in the myth kyai cupu panjala. Data analysis uses an etnosains model and is presented through formal and informal methods. The results of this study are (1) the structure of the myth of the Kyai Panjala Cupu which is divided into four episodes; (2) the meaning of denotation and the meaning of leksi in the kyai cupu panjala ritual; and (3) the mindset of the people of Menduk seen in the form of their daily behavior, namely hard work, caution, guarding, and being in harmony with nature. The public view that humans were created as individual beings and social beings. The world view by the Mendak community that this world does not exist with its inheritance, but there are those who hold and who control as the supreme ruler, namely God.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe (1) the characters, characterizations, and background, (2) a form of Islamic morals in the Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) by M. By Husseyn Umar. The research is a qualitative research. The research data is qualitative data in the form of dialogue phrases, sentences, paragraphs or units in Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) by M. Husseyn Umar. The primary data source is the Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) by M. Husseyn Umar issued by PT. Fikahati Aneska cooperation with BANI Arbitration Centre in 2013. The research instrument is the researchers themselves are equipped with a set of theories about the characters, characterizations, background, theoretical form of Islamic moral and pragmatic theory of literature. Data collection methods using a reading method, record, and library. Analysis data was conducted using the qualitative descriptive technique. The results of the study are as follows. (1) Figures, characterizations, and background in the Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) consists of, the main character is Hamid, he is a hard-working (short story "Antara Manusia dan Hukum"), Sudaraman is discipline (short story "Pelantikan"), Harun is a religious (short story “Perkawinan”), Kaharudin is a candor (short story "Menjual Bantuan"), Mr. Sharif is a hard-working (short story "Lembah Kehidupan”). The background used in the Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) that is setting of the place, time, and social background. (2) a form of Islamic morality contained in the Lembah Kehidupan (Collection of Short Stories) by M. Husseyn Umar includes a) a form of Islamic morality based on human relationship with yourself is hard work, courageous, patient, b) a form of Islamic morality based on human relationships through others that responsibility, honest, firm establishment, shame, trust, love and attention to her husband, between friends, respect, superiors and subordinates, parents advices to children, the love of parents to children, the love child of parents , the love between friends, the responsibility of parents advices to children, the responsibility between friends, c) moral form of Islam based on human relationship with God is grateful, pray to God, pray, and faith.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the result of the students listening short story ability and to describe the student's activities by using  Jigsaw learning Method. This research belongs to Class Action Research. The Subject of this study are the science students 1 grade XI of State Senior High School 1 of Pleret Bantul in academic year 2012/2013 and there are the amount of 29 students. This research is conducted in two actions cycle. In this research, the writer used instruments to measure the learning goal of students listening abilities are quiz and observation worksheet to describe the students learning activity. The result of this research shows that (1) Jigsaw type can improve the students listening ability. The improvement of the student's ability in listening short story can be seen from the short story identification understanding and KKM achievement outcome in each cycle. Understanding of short story identification in theme increase 7%, from 75% in cycle I become 82% in cycle II. Understanding of characters identification increase 14%, from 79% in cycle I become 93% in cycle II. Understanding of plot identification increase 14%, from 68% in cycle I become 82% in cycle II. Understanding of setting identification increase 5%, from 85% in cycle I become 90% in cycle II. The result of KKM achievement can be seen by the improvement of student success in listening a short story. KKM achievement in 18 students (62%) who succeed in precycle, increase 3 students (10%) become 21 students (72%) who succeed in the cycle I and increase 8 students (25%) become 29 students (100%) get succeed in cycle II. Jigsaw type can increase the student learning activity. Percentage average of the student's activity increases 20% from 41% in precycling become 61% in cycle I and increase 25% become 86% in cycle II.

Abstract

Study aims to describe (1) the reading achievement of the understanding of fable text which is learning using the lecture method (2) the learning achievement of reading the understanding of fable text which is learning using the two stay two stray model of class VII SMP Negeri 1 Paliyan. This type of research is in the form of quasi experiments (Quasi Exsperimental). The sample was taken by selected cluster random sampling class VII A with total 31 students as experimental class and class VII B total 31 students as experiment class. Data collection techniques use pretest and posttest. The validity of the question items was calculated using the correlation formula of moomen products, from 35 items obtained 22 valid matter and 13 fallen questions. Reliability calculated using Cronbach's Alpha, obtained 0.344 so that the instrument is reliable. The data analysis technique uses the t-test and the homogeneity of the variant. The results of this study show (1) learning achievement reading comprehension using lecture method in high category with average 14,645 (2) learning achievement reading comprehension using two stay two stray model in very high category with average 17,741. F-count = 64,449 (f-tabel 4,00), so it can be concluded that there is influence of learning achievement reading comprehension text of fable by using two stay two stray model in grade VII student of SMP Negeri 1 Paliyan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) the development of online-based learning assessment text material description of Indonesian subjects in class VI; (2) strengths and limitations experienced in developing online-based learning assessment text material description of Indonesian junior high school subjects. This research is a type of development research (R n D) assessment using Quizcreator software / applications. Taking the place of research in SMP Negeri 1 Bantul, Bantul City, Yogyakarta Province. Sources of data in this study are assessment instruments, informants, and documents. Data collection techniques are done by observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data validity test is done by method triangulation, source triangulation, and informant review. Data analysis techniques with interactive analysis which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The steps to obtain the results of the development of online-based learning assessment text material description Indonesian subjects in grade VII Junior High Schools are carried out through the stages: (1) The process of studying the curriculum and textbooks so that the scope of questions can be determined namely KI / KD 3.1, 4.1 and 3.2, 4.2 ,; (2) Formulating instructional goals; (3) Writing questions based on a grid with Quiz Creator software which includes 12 steps; (4) Making an answer key. Making the answer key in the fifth stage has been carried out simultaneously with the fourth stage; (5) Making a grid or blueprint assessment tool obtained as many as 30 multiple choice questions and 2 essay questions can be sorted in the following indicators. Work on the problems begins by clicking Continue and Submit. Then choose the answer that is considered correct. The last stage, it can be seen how many responses are correct and will be seen in the column. The column consists of total questions, overall scores, percentage level scores, middle scores, scores obtained and time spent. Abstract

Research aims were 1) describing the learning process of Indonesian language using picture media in order to improve skill of writing slogan or poster; 2) describing the improve of learning result after the using picture media in writing lesson of slogan or poster. Research method: this research was done in two cyclus, cyclus I and cyclus II. Data was retrieved from observation, test, field, and documentation. Results: The result shown1) In the cyclus I, the writing lesson of slogan or poster by using picture media makes the student become active to follow and focus than before. In the cyclus II, the ability of the student to write slogan or poster look improve than before. 2) The scoring analysis shown that the skill of write slogan or poster of the student improve 67,21 score compare with pra cyclus. In the cyclus I has 78,33 score and in the cyclus 2 improve become 92,77.
