Abstract

Indonesian language textbooks in junior high schools consist of various genres, one of which is genre description. It is hoped that the description genre will be able to instil character education in students. This study aims to determine the cultivation of character education in Indonesian textbooks, especially genre descriptions. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The data of this research are in the form of phrases, words, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and discourses that contain the cultivation of character education in Indonesian junior high school textbooks. The data were obtained from Venda Margareta's research (umbrella research) and Indonesian junior high school textbooks. In this study, the research instrument is a researcher who has been equipped with a set of theories and data cards that contain a study of operational verbs in a textbook. The instrument was validated with content validation by experts carried out by language teaching experts. Data collection techniques in this study using documentation techniques and literature study. The validity of the data was carried out by peer checking techniques through discussion or Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Analysis of the data in this study through the process of reduction, data presentation, and leverage. The results of the seventh-grade research show that the application of character education is found in text descriptions and is able to increase the character values ​​of students. The planting of character education found, namely the values ​​of honesty, discipline, responsibility, caring, polite, and confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Tri-N in Indonesian Literature textbooks for SMP VII Class Curriculum 2013 in an effort to improve writing and speaking skills. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a scientific approach. The results of class VIII research show that the application of the niteni, nirokke, and add processes to each process in literary texts as an effort to improve students' writing and speaking skills so as to improve more creative and productive cognition. The application of niteni in an effort to improve writing skills is found in words or clauses, such as note down the rules, while speaking skills, such as present and explain. The application of nirokke in writing skills, such as note-taking and serving, while speaking skills, such as staging and reciting. The application of increment in writing skills, such as making sentences and making reports, while speaking skills, such as speaking and reporting.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe social character education in Indonesian Junior High School Curriculum 2013. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and discourses that contain the planting of social character education in Indonesian textbooks. The results of the study show that one of the attitude values contained in the Indonesian language book for junior high school students in the 2013 Curriculum is social attitudes which include caring and polite attitudes. Caring and polite attitudes are found in textbooks for grades VII, VIII, and IX. The value of social attitudes in Indonesian junior high school students' textbooks is reflected in the introduction to chapters and sub-chapters, materials, discourses, introduction to activities and exercises, exercises, and activities.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pendidikan karakter sosial dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan data berupa kata, frasa, klausa, kalimat, dan wacana yang memuat penanaman pendidikan karakter sosial dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitan menunjukkan bahwa salah satu nilai sikap yang terdapat dalam buku Bahasa Indonesia untuk siswa SMP Kurikulum 2013, yaitu sikap sosial yang meliputi sikap peduli dan santun. Sikap peduli dan santun terdapat dalam buku teks kelas VII, VIII, dan IX. Nilai sikap sosial dalam buku teks siswa Bahasa Indonesia SMP tercermin dalam pengantar bab dan subbab, materi, wacana, pengantar kegiatan dan latihan, latihan, dan kegiatan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe (1) the structure of the novel Mempelai Naga according  to  Lévi Strauss, (2)  conflict, (3)  preservation  of cultural heritage, (4) the values that can be applied as subject matter of Indonesian at high school. This research is qualitative and descriptive. The results of the study are (1) a novel  structure   according   to  Lévi Strauss  has   relationships,   opposition,  and transformation, (2) conflicts of conflict between man and man, man and nature, man and God, man and conscience and, (3) preservation of heritage  Chinese culture-Jambi done by Naga who chose his bride and a number of elements relevant to the community, and (4) the value of which can be applied to learning Indonesian language and literature in high school are the value of cultural, moral, educational, religious, and social.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) the structure of the myth of the kyai Panjala cupu, (2) the meaning of the ritual of the cupu kyai panjala, and (3) the mindset, the view of life, and the worldview of the Mendak community. This research is a type of qualitative research with an ethnolinguistic approach. This research data is in the form of words in the myth kyai cupu panjala. Data analysis uses an etnosains model and is presented through formal and informal methods. The results of this study are (1) the structure of the myth of the Kyai Panjala Cupu which is divided into four episodes; (2) the meaning of denotation and the meaning of leksi in the kyai cupu panjala ritual; and (3) the mindset of the people of Menduk seen in the form of their daily behavior, namely hard work, caution, guarding, and being in harmony with nature. The public view that humans were created as individual beings and social beings. The world view by the Mendak community that this world does not exist with its inheritance, but there are those who hold and who control as the supreme ruler, namely God.

Abstract

Learning Indonesian in K13 is communicative, CLIL, scientific, and genre-based. Indonesian material in junior high school is integrated in one genre. Textbooks as a learning tool compiled nationally consist of student books and teacher books. Bloom revised taxonomy, the highest ability is to create / creativity. Ki Hadjar Dewantara has long coined Tri-N (niteni, nirokke, nambahi) which is relevant to the scientific approach and the process of creating a revised edition of Bloom. Textbooks as a principal guide for teachers and students in learning must apply a scientific approach. Tamansiswa teachings are known as Tri-N. Niteni is the process of marking by paying close attention, using all the senses, digging deeper information, and reasoning by connecting knowledge already possessed from excavated products. Nirokke is imitating what is taught through a model / example / example from the teacher / learning resource by involving the mind, sensing, feeling / conscience and spirituality integrally and harmoniously. Nambahi is the process of adding to what he has learned in developing his creativity and ideas through the activities of designing, creating, and improvising. This study aims to describe the application of the niteni, nirokke, and supplementary processes in genre-based Indonesian SMP textbooks. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis of interactive models Miles Huberman. The genres representing this research are description, explanation, procedure, exposition, and narrative genres. The results showed that in these genres the process of niteni, nirokke, and nambahi always appeared.

Abstract

School is the place where younger generations are educated both intellectually and characteristically. Through schooling, students are projected to able to develop their potential so that they are capable of living independently in society and pursue higher education. To achieve this objective, students are required to establish, among others, the character of discipline and responsibility since both knowledge transfer and character building are inseparable in teaching-learning processes. During the pandemic, however, the teaching-learning process is facing a new challenge by which both teachers and students must carry the process through online courses. Alternatively, the character of discipline and responsibility can be introduced to students through procedure texts. Procedure text is a type of text whose purpose is to instruct in how to do something through a sequence of steps. Procedure text requires students to ‘get something done’ by the mean of strictly following the steps prescribed in the text. This qualification demand students performing the character of discipline and responsibility so that the goal could be achieved accordingly. Moreover, the teacher are to build the character of discipline and responsibility from an early age. Students' discipline and responsibility improvement necessitate students' awareness as well as both parents' and teachers’ guidance.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di sekolah pada masa new normal ini masih menyisakan tantangan tersendiri bagi sekolah dan para siswa. Hal ini masih dirasakan salah satunya oleh siswa-siswa SD kelas VI di SDN Pengkok-Gunungkidul. Para siswa masih kesulitan untuk menulis karya sastra dengan kreatif. Tujuan PkM ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kreatifitas menulis sastra siswa SD berbasis kearifan lokal dengan metode Tri-N.  Kegiatan PkM dilakukan dengan model ceramah dan Tri-N, bertanya jawab, dan unjuk kerja. Lokasi PkM ini bertempat di SD Negeri Pengkok, Patuk, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Waktu kegiatna dilaksankaan pada Senin, 7 Februasi 2022. Peserta PkM sebanyak 15 anak kelas VI SD. Kegiatan PkM dilakukan bersamaan dengan pelaksanaan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN). Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara tim antara dosen pembantu lapangan (DPL), dosen, dan mahasiswa. Hasil yang tercapai dalam kegiatan ini yaitu; siswa mampu membuat karya sastra berbasis kearifan lokal dengan mengimplementasikan ajaran Tamansiswa (Tri-N).

Abstract

The aim of this service activity is to improve the ability to promote products by creating advertisements in English that are easy to understand. Advertising is a way to market goods or services with the aim of making customers familiar with the goods or services. Marketing products in English via websites or blogs is part of this activity. This service is provided through training methods to MSME residents in Cokrogaten, Bimomartani, Ngemplak, Sleman. Thursday, July 13 2023, training was carried out in residents' homes. One of the results of this activity is that the training participants gain a better understanding of entrepreneurship and the appropriate choice of language to use in advertisements made in English for product marketing. Apart from that, this training also improves participants' skills in making advertisements using English.
