Abstract

Bundung plants (Actinuscirpus Grossus) are widely spread in Borneo and used by society empirically as antimicrobials. Nevertheless, the use of Bundung plants as traditional medicine has not been equipped with convincing data, because there is no research that is related to the plants. In order to the use of the plants accountable, it is necessary to conduct research about phytochemical screening studies and tests the antimicrobial activity of ethanol extract of Bundung plants to staphylococcus aureusandEschericia Coli bacteria. Moreover, extraction does with maceration method. Secondary metabolite groups which are contained in the ethanol extract of Bundung plants were determined qualitatively using several of phytochemical reagents. The result of phytochemical screening test showed that ethanol extract of Bundung plants contains a group of secondary metabolites; namely flavonoid, tannin, saponin, phenolic, steroid and terpenoid. The method that was used to test antimicrobial activity to Staphylococcus aureusandEschericia Coli bacteria was a liquid dilution method with variations in extract concentration of 0,5%, 1%, 2%, 4% and 8% by considering at the clarity of each sample. The result of antimicrobial activity of liquid dilution to bacteria had inhibition at all concentrations and the biggest inhibitory activity was shown at concentration 8% with the clearest level and the MIC grade of the test is at a concentration of 1%. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that ethanol extract of Bundung plants has the potential of activities of an antimicrobial, especially from secondary flavonoid metabolites.

Abstract

Immunization is effective way to reduce morbidity and mortality of infectious diseases. However, there is only 59,2% early child in Indonesia is fully immunized. Health workers have an important role in that practice. Immunization status of children in Ciampea and Kalibata Early Childhood School has not known Their health worker’s role either. Therefore, this study was conducted to know the role of health worker in early childhood students in Ciampea and Kalibata Preschool. This study used a cross-sectional design. With quota as its sampling technique, there were 145 early child aged 12-59 months. multivariate. After multivariate analysis, the result of this study describes there is health worker advice is significantly associated with primary immunization with AOR 5,27 (95%CI: 1,05 – 26,32) dan p-value = 0,043. The mother who had to advise from health workers is 5,27 likely had fully immunized their children. Hence, health workers capacity should be increased to get more fully immunized early child.

Abstract

Obesity-related to the result of decreased reproduction. Obese women are more prone to abnormal anovulation and uterine bleeding, endometrial hyperplasia/cancer, infertility, miscarriage, and pregnancy complications, compared to women of normal weight. This study aims to determine the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in the serum at various BMI (body mass index), also to determine the relationship and correlation between obesity and AMH levels in serum. The population in the study were women aged 20 years to 40 years with less BMI, Normal BMI and Obesity BMI. The study subjects were women between the ages of 20 to 40 years with a BMI less than 17-19.9, obesity BMI ≥ 25 and normal BMI 20-25 as controls. Height measurement, weight weighing, and BMI calculation carried out according to the standard and subject to approval. Taking blood samples for the examination of AMH levels carried out by the RSKI laboratory (Infection Special Hospital) Airlangga University. The results of the data processed with SPSS 25 with the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Mann Whitney statistical analysis for different tests and Spearman analysis for the correlation test. The results of the study found homogeneous samples, there were no significant differences between the AMH levels of the less and obese groups with, p = 0.832 (p> 0.05). AMH levels in BMI were less (0.459 ± 0.112 ng / mL) than obesity BMI (0.432 ± 0.058 ng / mL), so it was concluded that AMH levels did not correlate with less BMI with obesity BMI, with a correlation value (r) = -0.105 (p = 0.643; p> 0.05). The results of this study concluded that body mass index not related and does not correlate with the levels of anti-Mullerian hormone in the serum.

Abstract

The process of fish by baking or burning using charcoal can produce toxic chemical compounds, one of which is a carbon monoxide (CO) compound. CO compounds can be inhaled into the lungs through the respiratory system in humans, thereby replacing the position of oxygen to bind to hemoglobin and consequently, the level of oxygen in the blood becomes reduced. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of hemoglobin and erythrocyte indices of the grilled fish seller selling around Pahandut District, Palangka Raya City. The study was conducted with a purposive sampling technique and the number of samples in this study was 25 people. The results showed normal hemoglobin levels of 24 people and below the normal value of 1 person. Normal MCV values were 16 people, MCV below normal values were 9 people (36%). Normal MCH 21 people (84%), MCH under normal values 2 people (8%), normal MCHC 19 people (68%), MCHC below normal values 1 person (1%), MCHC more than normal values 5 people (20%). Profile and erythrocyte indices of 25 samples obtained normal hemoglobin levels of 24 people (96%) and hemoglobin levels below normal values of 1 person (4%). The results of 1 person (4%) cytitrocyte index were suspected of having microcytic hypochromic anemia which could be caused by iron deficiency, and 1 person (4%) of the type was suspected of having microcytichipchromic anemia.

Abstract

Validation is the process of confirming that the method used has capabilities that are consistent with what is needed while being used continuously. The AMH ELISA kit has carried out a method validation process before marketed and used in a laboratory to determine AMH levels. AMH is a specific biomarker used to diagnose PCOS patients. The laboratory can adopt a validated procedure but the laboratory still needs to confirm its ability to apply this method. Verification is the provision of objective evidence that the measured parameters meet the specified requirements. The purpose of this study was to find out how well verification of the ELISA AMH kit and comparing the calculation of 4 PL with linear regression. Based on the statistical test obtained p = 0.871 (p>0.05). It can be said that there was no significant difference between Optical Density days 1 and 7(p = 0.05). Linear regression equation (r) 0.9543 (p = 0.000; p <0.05) while in equation 4 PL (r) 1,000. The ELISA kit AMH method meets the verification requirements. The 4PL model calibration curve is more suitable to be used in the AMH ELISA kit than the linear regression model.

Abstract

Stress is an individual's adaptive response to various external pressures or demands and produces a variety of disorders including physical, emotional and behavioral disorders. Final year students often experience feelings of stress so that it can interfere with concentration to attend lectures and can even hamper completing education in a timely manner. There are several ways of managing stress, one of which is using aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is a non-pharmacological therapy, which is a type of therapy that applies direct body contact and has a therapeutic effect that combines physiological effects, caused by massage on the body, with psychological effects, which are derived from essential oils. The general purpose of the study is to analyze the effect of aromatherapy on blood pressure and stress levels by using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale in final semester students. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design approach, in 28 intervention groups, namely respondents who were given lavender aromatherapy massage and 28 respondents in the control group. The univariate analysis was conducted to show frequency distribution and bivariate analysis was conducted by independent sample T-test and dependent sample T-test. The results showed that there were significant differences in systolic blood pressure before and after the intervention in the intervention and the control group with a p-value of 0.01 < 0.05. Whereas the stress level variable found that there is no difference in stress levels in the intervention and the control group before and after the intervention with p-value 0.169> 0.05.
