Abstract

Quality control is needed by the company to improve the quality of the products produced so that they are by the company's standards and by consumer desires. Maintaining the quality of the products made is also necessary to reduce the company's quality assurance costs. The research objective was to analyze the quality control of the products produced and identify the factors that damage the products produced by the Ayu Tangkas Women Farmers Group (WFG). The method used in this research is the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method with analysis using the p-control chart and the Fishbone Diagram. The population in the study were all products produced by WFG Ayu Tangkas in December 2019. The results showed that the quality of snacks made by WFG Ayu Tangkas, as many as 4280 pieces, were under control. This can be seen from the 28 points between the Lower Control Limit (LCL) and Upper Control Limit (UCL). There are only two points that are above the UCL control limit. The factor that causes deterioration in Ayu Tangkas WFG snacks' quality is that the ingredients are not measured with certainty using only the snack maker considerations. Besides, they do not use manufacturing machines, so that the sizes are often not the same because there is no definite SOP for the manufacturing process. There is no promotion so that snacks are made still at a constant volume and the use of firewood in the manufacture so that the heat generated is unstable, causing the snacks to burn and break frequently.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the organoleptic value and pH of salted duck eggs with the addition of dragon fruit peel extract (Hylocereus polyrhizuz) at different levels. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 levels of treatment and 3 replications, namely without the addition of dragon fruit peel extract, dragon fruit peel extract 5%, 10%, and 15%. The results showed that the addition of red dragon fruit peel extract as a ripening agent significantly affected the pH and organoleptic value of salted duck eggs. The average pH value ranges from 6.10-8.3. The average organoleptic value on a scale of 1-5 for color ranged from 2.38 to 4.39, aroma 2.87-3.78, taste 3.86-4.73. At the same time, the average hedonic organoleptic value (preference level) ranged from 2.85 to 4.71. Overall, the best concentration for all observation parameters was the addition of 10% red dragon fruit peel extract.

Abstract

Utilization of fresh cocoa fruit skin and the results of fermentation as green feed a goat was conducted to determine the effect of fermentation of the cocoa fruit skin against weight gain local goats. The study was conducted for 3 months using 8 goats aged 4-5 months who were randomly assigned to two treatment groups. The treatments were 85% field grass added 15% fresh cacao pods (F1) and 85% field grass added 15% fermented cocoa pod husks (F2). Each treatment consisted of four groups as replicates. The results showed that both treatments of giving fresh and fermented cocoa pods had the same effect on palatability and weight gain of goats. Feeding fresh and fermented cacao pods can still be used as a supplementation material for local goats.

Abstract

Gapoktan Tani Makmur is an association of farmer groups in Kartoharjo Village. The main product of Gapoktan is semi-organic fertilizer, namely organic NPK super granule with the trademark was ASLI (Alami Subur Lestari Indonesia). The problem faced is that Gapoktan is very dependent on factory microbes that were no longer produced in Purbalingga. There are many potential sources of beneficial local microorganisms, one of which comes from banana weevils. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of adoption and to analyze the factors that influence the adoption rate as the basis for the design of education about the manufacture of banana weevil MOL in Gapoktan Tani Makmur. Also, to determine the implementation, evaluate education based on the level of adoption and the factors that influence it. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey method for data collection. The sampling technique uses random cluster sampling. The results showed that the measurement of the adoption rate before counseling was in the very high category of 82.9%, with the regression line equation Y = -2.695 + 0.124X1 - 0.558X2 + 2.182X3 + 1.958X4, with a determination coefficient of 0.829 or 82.9% . It means that the variable age (X1), an education level (X2), attitude towards change (X2), and courage at risk (X2) simultaneously affect the innovation adoption variable (Y) by 82.9%. Simultaneously, the rest is influenced by other variables or variables not studied. The extension's design follows the measurement of adoption rate and its influencing factors. The extension material includes the meaning, benefits, advantages, and MOL content of banana weevils for super organic NPK fertilizer. Real-life media outreach, PPT slides, and leaflets with adjuncts, lectures, and demonstrations. Evaluation of the extension design application, namely, evaluating the adoption rate of 38 target people with a very high category of 86.4%.

Abstract

The North Luwu Regency Government has established a policy of developing horticultural agribusiness areas and strengthening the distance between the regional center and rural areas as producers of fruit and vegetable commodities. However, the support for the potential of natural resources is still a matter of debate between institutions. The purpose of the research was to describe the potential of eco-geographical resources and the level of importance of the institutional system in the development of horticultural agribusiness. The data that has been obtained were analyzed through two approaches, namely the data concerning the eco-geographical aspect which was analyzed through a regional complex approach. Meanwhile, data concerning social and institutional aspects were analyzed through the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) approach. The results showed that all aspects of eco-geography including topography, marble level, soil type, and rainfall, were potential resources in horticultural development. Although all aspects other than the amount of funding, desperately need effective management. ISM analysis showed that horticulture development requires strategic program support, namely: (1) development of transportation facilities, (2) effectiveness of inter-institutional coordination, (3) program legitimacy and socialization, equal distribution of vision and mission of horticulture programs, (4) optimization of the role of institutions, (5) strengthening commitment between sectors, (6) increasing knowledge, and (7) developing strategic programs. Overall, the program will be easier to implement when it is supported by a strong institutional system.

Abstract

Consumer demand for mustard needs in Indonesia is increasing. Efforts to produce mustard greens use an aeroponic system to utilize nutrients in dosage and type correctly. The study aimed to determine the proper type of nutrition for the growth and production of two mustard greens in an aeroponic system. This study used a completely randomized design with two factors. The first factor is the type of mustard which consists of two levels, namely pakcoy and pagoda. The second factor to consider is the nutrition applied at three different levels: AB mix, liquid organic fertilizer, and foliar fertilizer. Mustard greens grew and produced significantly differently when grown in an aeroponics system. Other nutrients greatly affected all observed variables, including plant height, leaf number, leaf color, root length, fresh plant weight, and dry plant weight. The use of pakcoy mustard provides the best growth and production of mustard greens compared to pagoda-type mustard. Giving AB mix nutrition to mustard greens can provide the best growth and production compared to nutrition from liquid organic fertilizers and foliar fertilizers. The AB mix nutritional treatment with pakcoy mustard produced the best results in plant height, leaf number, wet weight, dry weight, and root length. AB mix nutritional showing the best leaf color variable with pagoda mustard greens.

Abstract

Sea grapes have high economic potential. The development of sea grape cultivation is inseparable from its cultivation techniques. The research objective was to determine the daily growth rate and chlorophyll content of sea grapes in different cultivation techniques. The research was conducted from September to November 2020 at the Polytechnic of Marine and Fisheries, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. The treatment in this study was a different cultivation technique with 3 treatments, namely by spreading it (scattering technique), using the substrate (substrate technique), and combining the spread and substrate (combined technique). The results showed no difference in daily growth rate and chlorophyll content even though using different cultivation techniques. The intensity of sunlight more influences the daily growth rate and chlorophyll content. Water quality parameters during the study supported the daily growth rate.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the value of the indicator of food security levels, to assess food security levels, and to understand the indicators that most affect food security levels in the bungo county of the jambi province. The basic method for this study is the institutional survey of taking secondary data to agencies in order to know the food security index. For data analysis using multiple liniear analysis. The accuracy of the model is tested using statistical tests, namely the t-test, F-count and coefficient of determination adjusted for R-sq. Studies indicate that there are 3 unequal indicators for food security: households with a proportion of 65% spending in their total coin income is quite poor (21.42%), women's education over 15 years of age (10%) and the health-care ratio of people to very low population densities (2.75). And the other 6 variables that have been consistent with the country's high surplus ratio of consumption to food production (0.038), people who live below the world's poverty line are resilient enough (10.11%), people with no access to electricity with extreme resistance (4.25%),Residents with no access to clean water in highly resistant conditions (39.39%), highly resilient predatives (18.24%) and highly resilient life expectancy at birth (99.74%).The food safety index in the bungo district is in a very resilient state with an index of 0.06. The indicator that particularly affects food security levels is the ratio per health-care to population density.
