Abstract

The rapid development of digital media has triggered a conflict between positive effects, such as easy access to knowledge, and negative effects such as moral decline and gadget addiction in students' mindsets. This dilemma demands an adaptive transformation of Islamic character education to strengthen the morals of the younger generation directly in cyberspace. Therefore, this study aims to test the effectiveness of the Instagram platform as a means of delivering Islamic character education content at SMA IT Khairul Imam. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, involving the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, student activity coordinators, the student council media team, and students. The results show that Instagram is used as a medium to convey Islamic values through engaging visual content such as educational videos, moral campaigns, and documentation of religious activities. The published content contains values of religiosity, responsibility, and etiquette in daily life. Furthermore, the publication process also goes through a monitoring stage to ensure it remains in accordance with Islamic norms and teachings. Thus, these findings demonstrate the importance of social media such as Instagram as an effective means to support the formation of Islamic character in students in a more contextual and engaging manner.

Abstract

The phenomenon of injustice in social structures, gender bias, and oppression of underprivileged populations occurs continuously. Interpretative studies of Surah An-Nisā’ generally focus on legal and normative aspects, while its social and transformative dimensions in rejecting the oppression of the weak have yet to be fully investigated. Surah An-Nisā’ verses 2, 3, 11, 34, and 59 are the focus of the study since these verses contain principles of social justice and protection for vulnerable groups that are often overlooked and misunderstood in social practice. The purpose of this research is to reveal how the Qur'an, through the investigated verses, dismantles the patriarchal and authoritarian social structure. This research emphasizes the values of equality and protection for women, orphans, and the underprivileged. The type of this research is qualitative through literature study and thematic analysis methods as well as contextual hermeneutics, combining the study of asbābun nuzūl, classical exegesis, and contemporary interpretation. The research findings reveal that the Qur'an, through the five verses studied, presents a principle of justice that is transformative, rejects oppression, and upholds the balance of social relations. In conclusion, Surah An-Nisā’ is not to be reduced to a legitimization of power domination, but should be read as a text that upholds equality and social justice relevant across ages. Academically, this research provides a new contribution by expanding the thematic interpretation approach with an interdisciplinary analysis that combines historical, social, and exegesis perspectives, and offers a practical foundation for the development of Quranic exegesis discourse that is responsive to humanitarian and gender equality issues in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a Google Sites–based learning medium as an innovation for contextual and interactive Al-Qur’an Hadith instruction in a Grade VIII digital-class setting at MTs Negeri 4 Cilacap. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Needs analysis with 32 students indicated high digital readiness (100% smartphone ownership; 78% frequent internet use; 91% preference for digital learning) and strong demand for video- and audio-supported learning. The product integrated Qur’anic text, murattal audio, instructional videos, interactive quizzes, and online reflection tasks in a single portal. Expert validation (five-point scale) confirmed feasibility, with a content expert score of 4.50/5.00 and a media expert score of 4.00/5.00, followed by minor revisions. A limited pilot trial (n = 10) showed full accessibility and positive usability feedback, and the field implementation (n = 32) yielded an average quiz score of 2,627 points with 80% accuracy and 80.5% mastery. Student responses reached 89.25% (very good). These findings indicate that Google Sites can function as a low-cost, scalable, and pedagogically meaningful platform to support CTL-oriented learning and Qur’anic value internalization in digital madrasah contexts.
