Abstract

Pharmacognostic assay and Profile of  Thin Layer Chromatography Myrmecodia Plant (Myrmecodia pendens Merr & Perry) from Bintuni Bay, west Papua. Morphologycal Identification showed that Myrmecodia Plant (Myrmecodia pendens Merr & Perry) include magnoliopsida class with steep root system. Leaf anantomy from the leaf showed that anomositic type stomata.Powder extracbility of Myrmecodia Plant (Myrmecodia pendens Merr & Perry) including total ash is 33,92% and insoluble acid ash is 7,78%. While in the water soluble extractive 15,09% and aethanol soluble extractive 5,40%. Chemical identification on the tuberous powder showed that it is consist of tannin (pirogalotanin) and flavanoid. Profile of  Thin layer chromatography obtained total spot more diethyl ether extract equel to 8 spot and n-butanol extract equal to 5 spot with n-hexene : ethyl acetate (8:2( and Chloroform : methanol : water (10:6:0,5).Key words : Pharmacognostic, Myrmecodia pendens, Thin layer chromatography

Abstract

Hepatoprotector is a liver protected-agent of hepatotoxic. This research was aimed to determine the hepatoprotector effect of ethanol extract of dringo rhizome (Acorus calamus L.) and most effective dose as a hepatoprotector. The study using 20 male rats divided into 5 groups. Group I was given the Na-CMC 1%, group II was given a herbal supplement, and group III, IV, and V were given ethanol extract of the rhizome dringo (Acorus calamus L.) with a dose of 50 mg/100 mg, kgBB/kgBB, and 200 mg/kgBB orally for 7 days. At 5th day interval 2 hours after administering the test preparations were given a single dose of 2 g of paracetamol/kgBB in all groups except the Group I. Measurement of levels of SGPT is done before and after the treatment the animal test. From the results of a statistical analysis of Kruskal-Wallis’ test followed by Man-Whitney’s test that dringo Rhizome (Acorus calamus L.) ethanol extracts  has the effect of a hepatoprotector in rats. Extract 50 mg/kgBB dose has the same effect as statistically with herbal supplements’ group (˃ p 0.05).

Abstract

Etnofarmacy is the study of how an ethnic community or region in the use of a medicinal plant. Abstract

Antimitotic assay is one of the toxicity assay methods widely used in detection of cytotoxic activity of new compounds from natural materials. This research aimed to examine the effects of antimitotic and determine the IC50 and IC80 values of the ethanol extract of purple leaves with method of fertilized egg cell division inhibition Tripneustes gratilla L. The cell observation were visually carried out under a microscope by counting the number of cells that divided and did not divide after being incubated for ± 2 hours. The results  of this research showed that the IC50 and IC80 value of ethanol extract of purple leaves are 2,275 x 10-2 µg/ml and 1,54x10-2 mg / ml respectively. Based on the values, the ethanol extract of purple leaves is active as an antimitotic, despite the potential values can be lower than vincristine which can inhibit 80% egg cell Tripneustes gratilla L. fertilized with IC50 and IC80 values of 1,462 x 10-4  µg/ml  and 4.69x10-5 mg/ml.

Abstract

The research About, Hypoglycemic Effect Test Extracts Chloroform and n-Butanol Leaf Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) Against Mice (Mus musculus) The Induced by Aloksan. This absorvation is done withaim to determine the hypoglycemic of test chloroform and n-butanol leaf belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) against mice (Mus musculus) with the main aloksan. This animal abservatian try to inductied. With aloction with the aim to destroy sel-β pancreas and try to rise the animal blood glucose rate. This research utilized 18 male mice divided into 6 groups, each group consisted of 3 male mice. Groop I was given 0,182 gram/kgBB of chloroform extract, groop II was given 0,091 gram/kgBB chloroform extract, groop III was given 0,182 gram/kgBB n-butanol extract and groop IV was given 0,091 gram/kgBB n-butanol extract, and groop V was the positif comparison groop that given glybenclamide sespention and groop VI is the groop with negative control that was given Na CMC 1%. It  was given by feeded with volume of 1 ml/ 30 gBB. The abservatian reault shaw that chloroform ekstrak and n-butanol belimbing wuluh leat (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) has the effect to deerease glucose blood to mice (Mus musculus).Key Words : Hipoglycemic, Avverhoa bilimbi, Aloxan

Abstract

Analysis of Rhodamin B dye have done in several tomato sauce produced of Makassar city. The research aims to define and analyze levels of compound Rhodamin B in tomato sauce produced Makassar which is source from the sidewalk traders, and industries households by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method for qualitative analysis and spectrophotometry UV-Vis for quantitative analysis. This research can provide benefits to the public about dangers of consuming food that contain of Rhodamin B dye. Extraction with wool yarn, identified by TLC, and analysis by spectrophotometry UV Vis were covered in this study. Research results showed that the four of tomato sauce produced in makassar city did not contain of Rhodamin B dye and that product can be used by the citizen.Key Words : Rhodamin B, Spectrophotometry UV-Vis, Tomato Sauce.

Abstract

Acarbose and sambiloto have the same mechanism of action in lowering blood glucose levels by inhibiting alfaglukosidase enzymes in the gut. This study aims to determine the hypoglycemic effect and combination effect from ethanol extract of  sambiloto leaves (Andrographis paniculata Nees) with acarbose in rat (Rattus norvegicus) induced alloxan. Twelve Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups; negative control, positive control, and two treatment groups (EEDS 59 mg/kgBW with Acarbose 2,05 mg/kgBB as combination I and  EEDS 234 mg/kgBW with Acarbose 2,05 mg/kgBB as combination II). Diabetes Mellitus  was induced by Aloksan Monohidrate dose 135 mg/kg BB  for three days. Level of blood glucose was measured with glukometer at 2, 4, 6 and 8 day.  Treatment with combinations of EEDS doses 59 and 234 mg/kgBW  and Acarbose 2,05 mg/kgBB for 7 days significantly decreased blood glucose  level (p<0,05) by 48,97 %, and 58,81 %  respectively.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to make a formula of green tea that is enriched by other herbs. Green tea drinks are made using the basic ingredients of gambung (THG) green tea enriched with sapodilla leaves (Manilkara zapota (Aw) bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Am), Artocarpus communis (Un) breadfruit leaves, and cinnamon leaves (Cinnamomum verum (K)). The composition of gambung herbal green tea is made by reference to the antidiabetic activity of each herb. All the samples were tested for inhibition of α-glucosidase enzymes and toxicity using the lethality test method for brine shrimp. All samples showed good inhibition of the α-glucosidase enzyme barriers of gamboeng green tea (THG) 82.05%, sapodilla leaves (Aw) 97.81%, breadfruit leaves (Un) 73.34%, bay leaves (Am) 93.80%, cinnamon leaves (K) 91.24 %. The inhibition value of α-glucoside enzymes in the formulation of gamboeng herbal green tea drinks: 96.203% (GKUn) is higher when compared to the GKAm formula (94.78%) and GKAw (62.487%).

Abstract

A studies have been conducted identifying and determining the levels of sildenafil citrate in men vitality herbs that marketed in twon of makassar. This study aims to determine the presence of drugs chemicals substances (BKO) in men vitality herbs that is sildenafil citrate with TLC–Densitometry method. Herbal samples extracted using methanol solvent. Identification test by thin layer chromatography (TLC) using a mobiloe phase of chloroform – ethanol (9.5 : 0,5) indicates that the herbal sample were compared with comparator compounds contains sildenafil citrate. Assay done using a TLC-Densitometry at a maximum wavelength of 292 nm. The results showed levels of sildenafil citrate in men vitality herbs was 0,00827 g/100 g or 0,00827 % per capsule.Key Words : Identifying, Determining, Sildenafil Citrate, Men Vitality Herbs

Abstract

Caulerpa racemosa is one type of green algae has the ability to defend against radiation of ultraviolet. Lotion is a liquid or semi-liquid preparation containing one or more active ingredients with a suitable vehicle and provides a comfortable and good feel to the skin. The aim of this research was to obtain the optimum formula based on organoleptic testing, viscosity, pH, flow type, globule of dispersion, and antioxidant activity. The method of this research is experimentally which done by making some design of lotion formulation from methanolic extract of green alga Caulerpa rasemosa. Stability of losio was evaluated include organoleptic testing, pH measurement, type of emulsion, viscosity, flow type, size and distribution of dispersion globule. Determining of effectiveness of lotion as an antioxidant by IC50 value with UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Results of this research collected and processed statistically with the Completely Randomized Design method, then made the discussion and taken the conclusion. Based on the evaluation, it was found that Losio containing 0.75% methanolic extract of Caulerpa racemosa green algae (Formula III) had the most optimum pharmaceutical stability. And the three losio formulas containing methanol extract of Caulerpa racemosa green algae have antioxidant activity.
