Abstract

Binahong (Anredera coliforlia (Ten.) Steenis) is a potential medicinal plants that can superintend with different kinds of diseases. Research on antibacterial activity of binahong leaves and the secondary metabolites content ever done that in binahong leaves contained alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols. This research is a laboratory experiments that aim to find out the inhibition of leaves binahong ethyl acetate extract (Anredera coliforlia (Ten.) Steenis) against bacteria test. Binahong leaf extract work done by maceration method. Bacteria test i.e. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The zone of inhibition are determined for concentration ranging between 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Test of antibacterial activity is done using paper discs and disc diffusion method. The results of research can be drawn the conclusion that the ethyl acetate extract, binahong leaves at concentrations of 5% inhibition zone not seen against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Escherchia coli and bacteria while at concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20% visible inhibition zone against both the bacteria i.e. 1.7 mm, 2.0 mm and 2.6 mm for the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and 1.8 mm and 2.3 mm 2.8 mm for the bacterium Escherichia coli. It can be said that the extract of binahong leaves influential ethyl acetate can potentially inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and based on the diameter of the inhibition zone caused by any concentration of the extract can also be inferred that the higher the concentration of a sample is then the higher the diameter of the inhibition zone is generated.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to discover the effect of interaction polymorphism endhotelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) polymorphism gene with mother’s age, parity, and body mass index (BMI) on the incidence of Pregnant Induced Hypertension (PIH) using a nested case control study. The number of subjects was 29 pregnant mothers whose pregnancy was  ≥ 20  weeks. The examination of endotelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) polymorphism gene was done by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) modified by Rigat. The result of the study indicate that the nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) polymorphism gene of genotype GG the risk more than the genotype non GG. Genotype GG 1,8 means that the risk for hypertension is high, and the age less than 20 years and over 35 years has 3,78 times risk for PIH, while at the multípara , the risk is 2,16 times compared to the primípara. So that at the high BMI , the risk is 1,67 times compared to the normal BMI.  Interaction of the genotype GG and ages < 20 years and >35 years  have risk for PIH will have a greater risk for PIH than another of the interaction genotype non GG, parity, and BMI. Interaction between gene factor with environment will enlarge risk suffer PIH.Keyword : Pregnant induced hypertension, mother’s age, parity, BMI, eNOS gen polymorphism.

Abstract

A research test the antioxidant activity of pomegranate juice (Punicagranatum L.) with the FRAP method to measure and determine antioxidant activity. Pomegranate juice was analyzed qualitatively by using the metod FRAP with FRAP reagent. Quantitatively mix with the sample solution was analyzed by FRAP method UV-VIS Spectrophotometer at a wavelength 596 nm. By using trolox as a reference standard. From the research result that sample A and sample B sample C has antioxidant activity with an total value of antioxidant activity, sample A = 6.1243 μmol TR/g sample, sample B = 6.0913 μmolTR/g sample and sample C = 2.9651 μmolTR/g sample.Key words :  Pomegranate juice, antioxidant activity, FRAP, Trolox Uv-Vis Spectrophotometer.

Abstract

Analysis content of β-carotene for Sawi hijau (Brassica juncea L coss) and sawi putih (Brassica pekinensia L) By Spectrophotometri Visible. A heve applied of research about contentof β-carotene in two quality  of sawi namely sawi hijau (Brassica juncea L coss) and sawi putih (Brassica pekinensia L). For to Analysis and senelles content β-carotene in sawi. Sawi sample to be extraction in demarcation by acetone. The result of extraction to extract agein with petroleum eter and applied safonification with KOH 15 %. Qualitative analysis applied with Chromatography method in thin layer using petroleum eter:Benzen (9:1). The result it showing there are spot which same on two samples and β-carotene pure as the compere. While Quantitative analysis with spectrofotometri visible using β-carotene pure as compere showing that the content of β-carotene sawi hiaju 99,23 mg/g and sawi putih 40,91 mg/g.Key Word : β-Karoten, Brassica pekinensia L,  Brassica juncea L coss

Abstract

The test effect of Taoge Juice on Cholesterol Level of Rat (Rattus norvegicus) Male Hyperlipidemia.This research purpose to know and to fix the concentration of Taoge Juice which have hypolipidemia effect at rat (Rattus norvegicus) male, that administered orally has been conducted. This research used 15 rat male and divided to 5 groups, and each group consist 3 rat male. First group given Na.CMC as control, second group given simvastatin as standard of comparison.The third, fourth and fifth groups given Taoge Juice with 30 %, 60%, and 90 % respectively. This research done by measuring the normal cholesterol level, induced by propiltiurazil and goat lipid and  given by NaCMC, Taoge Juice with 30%, 60%, and 90% concentration and standard of comparison (Simvastatin). This cholesterol level determing by using Human Analyzer. Then do the analyzing data. Besed on analyzed data obtain that control group is significantly (p<0,05) with 30%, 60%, dan 90% group and standard of comparison group. While the group of Taoge Juiceand standard of comparison group not significantly (p>0,05). By analysis of the research result that Taoge Juice have hypolopidemia effect on 30%, 60%, dan 90% concentration.

Abstract

An investigation on formulation of body scrub from Nigella sativa seed has been carried out. The purpose of this investigation was to determine which formula stability optimal. Body scrub made emulsi which were amulsified by anionic group sulphate emulsifier, anionic group amine emulsifier, and nonionic emulsifier than determined the stability of body scrub with stress condition. Parameters investigated were emulsi type, viscocity and droplet size determined. The results showed that emulsi type from three formulas were oil in water (o/m) emulsion both before and after stress condition. Droplet size showed increased after stress condition. Viscocity from three formulas after stress condition showed reduced significantly (α = 0.01) but body scrub with anionic group sulphate emulsifier showed reduction only in α = 0.05. The conclusion showed that body scrub with anionic group sulphate emulsifier was relative the most stable emulsion.Keywords: Emulsifier, Nigella sativa seed, stability

Abstract

Red fruit oil is known to be very useful as antioxidants are beneficial for skin health, especially to prevent damage cell components that cause premature aging of the skin. Based on the study of antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 53.47 µg / mL. This study aimed to obtain a formula that possess optimal physical stability. In this study, three formulas designed by varying the precursor, namely the formula I with soap formation ingredients palm oil and olive oil, the formula II with VCO soap-forming ingredients and olive oil, and formula III with ingredients forming castor oil soaps and oils olives. Each physical stability of the formulations was evaluated by testing parameters include the foam test, hardness test, test the pH, organoleptic and sensory evaluation test on the skin. Results showed that the formula that has optimum physical stability is Formula I with component-forming material palm oil soaps and olive oil.

Abstract

This research is done to know whether infuse of sambiloto leaf can reduce cholesterol and trigliserida value in the blood or not. For reducing cholesterol and trigliserida value in the blood, we want to know the most effective concentration of infuse of sambiloto leaf ( Andrograpidis paniculata).In this research, the method is used is draw up samples, substancions, experimental animals, treatment with experimental animal and measuring cholesterol and trigliserida value.All sample can reduce cholesterol and trigliserida value at concentration 10%, 15%, or 20%, sample with concentration 15% and 20% reduce cholesterol value is better than sample with concentration 10%. Sample with concentration 15% and 20% have reducing effect of trigliserida value same with simvastatin.Analyze using ANAVA (analys variant) with continuing test using LSD at belief standart 0,05, in conclusion, infuse of Sambiloto leaf can reduce not only cholesterol but also trigliserida value in male rabbits.Key Word : Antihiperlipidemi, Andrograpidis paniculata, cholesterol and trigliserida.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of chronic diseases characterized by increased sugar levels in the blood as a result of disturbances in the body's metabolic system. Comparative studies have been conducted hypoglycemic effect of patent metformin and generic branded metformin to the diabetic male mice with the aim to determine the effect of the patent and the generic branded drug metformin drug in lowering blood glucose levels. This study used male mice were divided into three treatment groups, group I was given Na. CMC as a control, the group II was given generic branded metformin and the group III was given patent metformin. Measurement of blood glucose levels before and after induction of alloxan 120 mg/kgbw intraperitoneally, and for 6 hours after drug administration with measurements every 90 minutes interval. The data obtained were analyzed by ANOVA. The results showed the patents metformin drug have no significantly different effects compared to the generic branded metformin drug.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the protease enzyme-producing bacteria in Limbah Air Tahu  and IC50 fermentat protease enzyme-producing bacteria in Limbah Air Tahu potentially fight free radicals. The methods in the study, which is taking Limbah Air Tahu and sewage treatment, followed by isolation of the bacteria producing the enzyme protease. Bacterial isolates obtained purified, for macroscopic examination. Fermentation bacteria and the production of protease enzymes. Purified protease enzyme obtained. Testing fermentat to fight free radicals with the DPP method and the determination of IC50 values fermentat protease enzyme-producing bacteria. The results of the protease enzyme producing bacteria identification on Biochemical activity test, there were 7 positive bacteria. The results of screening anti-free radical activity against isolates obtained 12 isolates with code FF 05. UMI IBPLT most excellent activity that is obtained of the IC50 fermentat isolates UMI IBPLT FF 05 is equal to 0.129 and dibandingakan denagn IC50 Vitamin C is = 14.81 + 0:10 then isolates FF 05 UMI IBPLT active in fighting free radicals.
