Abstract

The research entitled The Effect of Digital Literacy on Student Learning Achievement at Santa Ursula Community Development College aims to determinate the effect of digital media literacy among male and female students on their learning achievement at STPM Santa Ursula Ende. This study used an associative quantitative research method to create a descriptive picture and explain the relationship between the two variables being studied, namely Digital Literacy (X) and Student Academic Achievement (Y). This study used a Likert scale with the hypothesis that the level of digital literacy among students has a significant effect on their academic achievement. The results of the study, using several indicators of lecture activities, shown that there is a significant influence between digital literacy skills and student academic achievement. This research used as input and consideration for determining the next steps and policies of the college, both the Study Program and the Institution, related to digital literacy to improve the quality of digital literacy, the quality of student achievement, and the quality and development of lectures in the Sociology Study Program and the Santa Ursula Ende Community Development College as a Higher Education Institution.

Abstract

Elementary school students have difficulty understanding the sequence of historical events in order because the material is abstract and chronological. The purpose of this study is to develop comic media on the material of the arrival of Europeans in Indonesia for sixth grade elementary school learning. Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation are parts of the R&D method, which uses the ADDIE model. The media was created in the form of a flipbook that combines learning evaluations, student worksheets (LKPD), and digital comics. The feasibility of the media was tested through media expert validation. The results were 26 out of 32 with a feasibility percentage of 81.25%, which places the media in the very good category. The media was used in Grade VI at SDN Sindang IV. The post-test results showed that most students achieved scores above the Minimum Completeness Criterion (KKM) for IPAS of 70. The study shows that comics can help achieve descriptive history learning objectives in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomena of language interference that naturally arise when lower secondary school pupils use Indonesian as a second language in writing activities. The aim of this study is to identify various forms of language interference occurring at the phonological and morphological levels in descriptive texts written by pupils, whilst also analysing the factors that cause such interference to occur. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method employing a comparative analysis technique between Indonesian language structures that conform to linguistic norms and the language system commonly used by students in their daily lives as their first language. The results of the study indicate that the most dominant interference is found in the phonological aspect, for example, the change of the sound /p/ to /b/, /u/ to /o/, and /a/ to /e/. Furthermore, interference is also evident in the morphological aspect, such as the use of the suffix -an, the use of reduplication forms, and the combination of words that do not conform to the rules of word formation in Indonesian. The emergence of this phenomenon is influenced by the widespread use of Javanese in everyday communication, oral language habits, and students’ still limited mastery of the written rules of Indonesian.

Abstract

Digital literacy is important to support students' writing skills in the era of technological development, especially in learning descriptive text. This study aims to analyze the application and evaluation of digital literacy in improving the descriptive text writing skills of grade X students of SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through pretests, socialization, posttests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The pretest and posttest were not calculated statistically, but only analyzed descriptively. The research subjects consisted of 35 students and 1 Indonesian language teacher. The results showed that the application of digital literacy through media such as PowerPoint, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and educational games was able to improve students' writing skills. Improvements were seen in aspects of text structure, choice of diction, coherence, and completeness of content. In addition, students also showed an increase in learning independence and motivation during learning. However, there were several obstacles, such as limited internet access and supporting facilities. Overall, the application of digital literacy has proven effective in improving students' descriptive text writing skills, although it still requires adequate infrastructure support to run optimally.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the impact and potential of innovation and quality improvement in teaching curved-surface solid geometry for junior secondary school students. This study employs a qualitative approach using Didactical Design Research (DDR) to capture classroom realities, with retrospective analysis guiding the interpretation of findings. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, documentation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions. The results show that students’ knowledge acquisition is supported by three key aspects: independent exploration, the use of technology, and a coherent learning trajectory. The implemented didactical design demonstrates several strengths but also areas for improvement. Technology effectively enhances concept visualization, student participation, and understanding. However, limitations remain in the clarity of task instructions, the precision of anticipating students’ learning obstacles, and the alignment of technology use with learning objectives. Reflection and evaluation of the implementation inform revisions to the didactical design, leading to a more effective, structured, and student-centered learning approach that better meets classroom needs.

Abstract

Civic Education in Indonesia faces a challenge in integrating communitarian values that are contextual and grounded in the social realities of its communities. Academic studies that empirically explore communitarian values embedded in local wisdom as an alternative source for Civic Education development remain scarce. This article aims to analyze the communitarian values contained in the Rebu tradition of the Karo ethnic group as an alternative for developing local culture-based Civic Education. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with seven subjects in Beganding Village, Karo Regency. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model with technique triangulation to ensure the validity of findings. Results show that the Rebu tradition empirically embodies all five of Etzioni's communitarian values: common good is manifested through the nabei sanction system; sense of community is built through intergenerational value transmission; social responsibility is formed through the internalization of self-regulation norms; respect for tradition exists as dynamic value adaptation; and balance of rights and responsibilities is negotiated collectively. These findings contribute to all three pillars of civic competence simultaneously and offer a concrete model for the substantive not merely decorative but integration of local wisdom into Civic Education.
