Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of self-efficacy on subjective career success among employees of Islamic tourisme companies. In addition, the study investigates the mediating role of perceived employability, specifically internal and external employability, in explaining the relationship between self-efficacy and subjective career success.Design/methodology/approach: This research employed a quantitative approach using a causal research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees working in Islamic Tourisme companies in West Sumatra, Indonesia. A total of 200 valid responses were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0.Findings: The findings reveal that self-efficacy does not directly influence subjective career success. However, self-efficacy significantly affects both perceived internal employability and perceived external employability. Furthermore, internal and external employability significantly influence subjective career success and fully mediate the relationship between self-efficacy and subjective career success. These results indicate that employability perceptions play an essential role in transforming employees’ confidence into positive career outcomes.Research limitations/implications: This study is limited to employees in the Islamic tourism sector and uses a cross-sectional design. Future research is recommended to apply longitudinal approaches and examine broader industrial contexts.Practical implications: Organizations should strengthen employees’ self-efficacy and employability through career development programs, training, and competency enhancement initiatives to improve career success outcomes.Originality/value: This study contributes to the career development literature by simultaneously examining perceived internal and external employability as mediating variables in the relationship between self-efficacy and subjective career success within the Islamic tourism industry context.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the CAMELS and RGEC frameworks in assessing banking resilience in Indonesia amid increasing economic uncertainty. The study addresses the question of which framework provides a better explanation of banking resilience under conditions characterized by exchange rate volatility, inflationary pressures, and monetary tightening policies.Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a quantitative research design using panel data regression analysis. The sample consists of commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2020–2025. The CAMELS framework is represented by Capital, Asset Quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity, and Sensitivity to Market Risk, while the RGEC framework comprises Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earnings, and Capital. Banking resilience is measured using Return on Assets (ROA) as an indicator of financial performance and stability.Findings: The study is expected to identify the relative effectiveness of the CAMELS and RGEC frameworks in explaining banking resilience and determining which framework provides a more comprehensive assessment of bank soundness under uncertain economic conditions.Research limitations/implications: The study is limited to commercial banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and may not fully capture the conditions of non-listed banks. Future research may expand the sample scope to include regional or international banking institutions and consider additional measures of banking resilience.Practical implications: The findings are expected to provide useful insights for bank management, investors, and regulators in evaluating bank performance, managing risks, and strengthening financial stabilityOriginality/value: This study contributes to the banking and financial stability literature by providing a comparative analysis of the CAMELS and RGEC frameworks in assessing banking resilience during a period of heightened economic uncertainty in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore how consumer purchasing decisions on the TikTok Shop platform in the Palopo area are influenced by live streaming interactivity and trust in influencers. This research is quantitative in nature and primarily uses survey methods. A total of 109 active TikTok Shop users participated in this study. Questionnaires were used to collect data, and SPSS version 21 software was used to process the data using multiple linear regression techniques. The main conclusion shows that, both individually and collectively, live streaming interactivity and trust in influencers significantly enhance purchasing decisions. These two independent factors explain 60.9% of the variation in purchasing decisions, according to the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.609. Implications from these results suggest that increasing the level of interactivity and the trustworthiness of influencers will raise the likelihood of consumers making purchases through TikTok Shop.

Abstract

The growing development of digital payment platforms has transformed the way consumers conduct transactions and has further accelerated the digital transformation of MSMEs. Although QRIS has been widely adopted across Indonesia, empirical evidence regarding the psychological factors that shape consumers’ intentions to utilize this payment method, particularly within the culinary MSME sector, remains limited. This research investigates the effects of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on consumers’ intention to adopt QRIS, while also assessing the mediating role of attitude in this association. The study involved 150 respondents who had previously used QRIS when making transactions at culinary MSMEs in Padang, Indonesia. Using a quantitative research design, the proposed model was analyzed through PLS-SEM. The results demonstrate that perceptions of usefulness and ease of operation both play a significant role in shaping positive attitudes toward QRIS usage. Perceived ease of use emerged as the strongest antecedent of attitude. In addition, attitude was found to significantly influence behavioral intention, suggesting that positive evaluations of QRIS play an important role in encouraging future usage. Perceived usefulness directly enhances consumers’ intention to use QRIS; however, the influence of perceived ease of use on behavioral intention was not found to be statistically significant. Further analysis reveals that attitude fully mediates the association between perceived ease of use and behavioral intention and partially mediates the linkage between perceived usefulness and behavioral intention. These findings suggest that consumers’ adoption decisions are not solely driven by functional benefits or technological simplicity but are largely influenced by the positive attitudes developed through their interaction with the payment system. This study enriches the digital payment and technology adoption literature by demonstrating the importance of attitudinal mechanisms in explaining QRIS adoption behavior within developing country MSME contexts.
