Abstract

This study examines the impact of Islamic marketing on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java, Indonesia. Responses from 115 business owners across various sectors of West Java MSMEs were analyzed using SPSS and Smart Partial-Least Square (PLS). The findings indicate that Islamic marketing, encompassing four dimensions (Rabbaniyah, Akhlaqiyah, Al Waqiiyah, and Insaniyyah), significantly influences performance, with Islamic principles positively affecting the progress of MSMEs in the West Java region. Despite the limited sample size, the study's results encourage further research into market variations. This can benefit the success of MSMEs in West Java, Indonesia, for both practitioners and academics, by highlighting the importance of Islamic marketing networks. Additionally, the findings suggest that fostering a strong Islamic culture can promote positive behavior between businesses and customers. These insights are valuable for policymakers and business advisors aiming to tailor government support strategies for MSMEs in West Java and other Indonesian provinces, and could serve as a focus for future research. Future studies could explore these dynamics in other sectors and regions to develop a more comprehensive understanding of how Islamic marketing impacts business performance globally.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Social Media Marketing Activities, Brand Credibility, and Purchase Intention in the context of makeup artist services. The study is based on the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) framework. In service-based industries, consumers depend on information from social media to evaluate and select service providers. A quantitative approach was employed by collecting data from 250 respondents in Jakarta through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that Social Media Marketing Activities influence both Brand Credibility and Purchase Intention. Furthermore, Brand Credibility contributes to increasing Purchase Intention and plays a mediating role in the relationship between Social Media Marketing Activities and Purchase Intention. These findings highlight the importance of effective social media strategies in building credibility and encouraging consumer intention in service contexts.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have influenced students’ consumption patterns through easier access to information, digital promotions and technology-based financial services. As members of Generation Z, students tend to be active users of TikTok and digital financial services, making them more susceptible to consumptive behaviour. This study aims to analyse the influence of TikTok social media usage and digital financial literacy on the consumptive behaviour of Accounting Education students at the Jakarta State University, with self-control as a moderating variable. This study employs a quantitative associative-causal approach with a sample of 203 students selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected via a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares with the aid of SmartPLS 4.1.1.8. The results indicate that the use of TikTok and digital financial literacy have a positive partial influence on consumptive behaviour, whilst self-control has a negative influence on consumptive behaviour. Furthermore, self-control moderates the influence of TikTok social media use and digital financial literacy on consumptive behaviour. These findings indicate that self-control plays a crucial role in reducing students’ tendency towards consumptive behaviour amidst the use of social media and digital financial services

Abstract

This study evaluates the Affirmative Scholarship Program administered by the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education Agency (LPDP) using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model from a Good Governance perspective. It also identifies the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting program implementation and proposes recommendations for improvement. A qualitative case study approach was employed at the LPDP Office in Jakarta. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and document analysis involving seven informants, including program administrators, active scholarship recipients, alumni, and a representative of the Indonesia Scholarship Center. Data credibility was ensured through source and technique triangulation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings indicate that the program addresses relevant educational needs and is supported by a strong regulatory framework. The endowment fund financing scheme provides adequate resources; however, support interventions are concentrated after the selection process, while the major challenges faced by affirmative applicants occur during the pre-selection stage. Program implementation is generally systematic and accountable, although weaknesses remain in monitoring the geographical distribution of alumni returning to their target regions. The number of scholarship recipients increased from 1,530 in 2022 to 2,626 in 2024, generating multidimensional impacts beyond academic achievement. The study recommends strengthening pre-selection assistance, improving the geographical dimension of the alumni monitoring system, expanding cross-sector partnership-based outreach, broadening scholarship opportunities for vocational education, and enhancing support for scholarship recipients with disabilities.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of scarcity promotion in TikTok Live Shopping on consumers’ impulse buying of personal care products, with fear of missing out (FoMO) and arousal serving as mediating variables. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 200 TikTok users in the Greater Jakarta area who had watched personal care live-shopping sessions and encountered limited-time or limited-stock offers. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4. The results demonstrate that scarcity promotion positively and significantly affects FoMO, arousal, and impulse buying. FoMO and arousal also have significant positive effects on impulse buying and partially mediate the relationship between scarcity promotion and impulse buying. These findings indicate that scarcity cues can encourage spontaneous purchasing both directly and through consumers’ psychological responses. The measurement model met the requirements for convergent validity, discriminant validity, and internal consistency, while the structural model demonstrated adequate explanatory and predictive relevance. The study strengthens the application of the Stimulus–Organism–Response framework in live commerce and emphasizes that limited-time and limited-stock messages should be communicated accurately and transparently.
