Abstract

This research attempts to recontruct Learning Citizenship Education (PKn) fifth grade (5’th grade) SDN Cugenang (elementary school) still have not capable of being belonging to school tuition and can be apply in real life. Learning that takes place still puts forward a form of learning theoretical-abstract by presenting a set of the theory, symbol, textual and skriptual containing a number of fact, the concept and principle that is rote and knowledge. Referring to the condition of the research aims to understand lessons with the approach model contextual in learning citizenship education (PKn). In a research the act of classroom action research with four the stage of activity that is: planning, the act or, observation and reflection, done as many three cycles. Technique data collection out by means of: observation, interview, documentation and chief. This research showed that learning citizenship education (PKn) with the approach contextual make processes and results learning is better and more robust. Keywords: Model, Contextual, Citizenship Education

Abstract

This research is based on the social studies learning process that has been happening so far, limited by formal classrooms, educators only use textbooks as the only source of social studies learning, in order to achieve social studies learning objectives, it is necessary to choose learning resources that are in accordance with the material. Sri Baduga Museum is conceptually relevant to be used as a source of social studies learning in the subject of community life during the Hindu-Buddhist period. The purpose of this study is to find out the collections in the Sri Baduga museum that can support the material of community life during the Hindu-Buddha, to find out the activities which are conducted by students in utilizing Sri Baduga Museum collection that supports the subject of community life during the Hindu-Buddha period, to find out the optimization Sri Baduga Museum as a source of social studies learning in the subject of community life during the Hindu-Buddhist period, and to find out the obstacles of the use of Sri Baduga Museum as a source of social studies learning in the subject of community life during the Hindu-Buddhist period. Data collection will be conducted by observation, interviews and documentation. This study reveals that; First, there are collections that support the subject of community life in the Hindu-Buddhist period such as, replicas of Inscriptions, replicas of Arca, replicas of Candi. Second, the activities which are conducted by students are tour activities which is going around from the first floor to the third floor, watching movies, recording important things and taking photos as documentation. Third, optimization which are conducted by the staff are providing good facilities, as well as adding collections, revitalizing the Classic Period Room. Fourth, obstacles which are experienced in terms of funding.

Abstract

This study was structured to find out the improvement of the ecological intelligence of students in SMP Negeri 10 Bandung after the implementation of the Kang Pisman program. In the school environment, the problem of rubbish becomes difficult to overcome because students who use plastic for daily snacks still dominate, even though trash bins are provided, not a few of them still throw garbage in their place, which then becomes one of the causes of discomfort on the school environment where they study. The researcherswere interested to find out Kang Pisman implementation process and its influence on students. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. The subjects in this study were divided into 3 categories namely the coach of the Kang Pisman program, students who were members of Kang Pisman, and students who were not members of Kang Pisman. The results of observations and interviews show that the students' ecological intelligence program has increased significantlyafter the implementation of Kang Pisman program so far, as seen from the habits of students to separate the increased waste, also in reducing waste where students are accustomed to bringing tumblers or lunch boxes to school, and to utilize garbage in general, students have participated in the effort even though they have not directly contributed to their activities, namely visiting the garbage bank and making regular work. Besides, investigated from several schools that the researchers observed, the implementation of Kang Pisman in SMP Negeri 10 Bandung was carried out well. This study concluded that Kang Pisman program implementation improves the students’ ecological intelligence, although in some aspects ,students who are members of Kang Pisman experienced an increase in ecological intelligence more than non-members of Kang Pisman because of the variety of activities carried out more than students who are not members of Kang Pisman.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the low critical thinking of students in social studies learning in Pasundan 2 Middle School Bandung class VII F. Based on the background of the problem the authors are interested in examining the problems faced by students. The method used in this study is Kemmis And Taggart which is in accordance with class action research (CAR). This research was conducted by applying the problem based learning (PBL) model. Before carrying out the research, the author first made an initial observation, the initial observations were made to look for the problems to be studied, initial observations carried out on Monday 18 September 2018. After the problem was found the writer immediately made a research plan. The study was conducted on Monday 25 September 2018 and ended on October 2, 2018. The number of respondents studied was 33 students.  The research was conducted by applying the problem based learning model based on the results of the study showing that the success of applying the model was very good, the students were considered successful in increasing critical thinking in social studies learning.

Abstract

This research is arranged by seeing the reality in school that some of the resources used by teachers are limited with no any various resources to learn social studies subject in junior high school. This research is also done to describe the relevance of the museum that can be benefited as social studies resources. The approachment used for this research is qualitative and descriptive method implemented in Museum Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Jawa Barat. Technique of collecting data used for this research is observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the findings of the research, the museum collection in Museum Monumen Perjuangan Rakyat Jawa Barat is relevance with social studies resources for junior high school. As for basic competence of social studies subject which in appropriate with the museum collection is the material on KD (Basic Competence) 3.4 and KD 4.4 class VII, VIII, and IX of junior high school. The values contained in the museum collection are value of struggle, nasionalism, braveness, caring, mutual cooperation, and value of patriotism. The use of this museum is for learning process of social studies which is using Project Based Learning model, for instance, the making of vlog is given to students to tell their observation result from the museum also the teacher could ask students to do self-reflection after visiting the museum.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher’s findings from an observation at SMPN 45 Bandung. The observation showed the high consumption of VII-G class students on food sold in the school environment. Therefore, researchers felt the need to increase the students’ Eco literacy in consuming healthy food. Researcher used project-based learning through the making of food vlogs on social studies. This study used John Elliot’s class action research method consisted of three cycles with 3 actions in each cycle. Based on the research’s result, it is safe to state that the lessons were planned well by educators; lesson implementation of project-based learning model through the creation of food vlog ran well in each cycle. The final product in the form of food vlog was done in groups with different themes in each cycle; in the first cycle of food vlogs made with the theme "Knowing the benefits of healthy food", the second cycle themed "Processing pre-historic human food" and the theme in the third cycle is "Indonesian Golden Spices". Reflection has been carried out to determine the obstacles encountered and the solutions to overcome them. The conclusion of this study is that the student’s ecoliteracy in consuming healthy food increased in every cycle as it was evidenced by the changing patterns of students’ consumption to be healthier than before.

Abstract

Internalization of togetherness values needs to be integrated through community education activities, so that the young generation has social skills in face of differences opinion in the Indonesia society diversities. The path of home schooling education is considered limited. The isolation toward children puts them at risk of low social skills that mostly obtain through relationship with the environment. Pembinaan Anak-anak Salman (PAS) is a non- formal educational institution where the activity focuses on developing social competence. This research aims to acquire an in-depth picture of how togetherness values can develop conflict resolution social skills to the foster child in home schooling, using a descriptive study method with a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques use participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to acquire the same data source simultaneously. The results of this research, firstly the activities of the Pembinaan Anak- anak Salman (PAS) with the motto as the Kids Islamic Society are carried out through tiered periodic and thematic guidance based on the curriculum and syllabus. Secondly, the guider is a role model for the foster child in home schooling who are guided in behaving that contain togetherness values. Third, attitudes and behaviors that contain togetherness values are infused and rationalized in daily life. Fourth, the selection of home schooling education has impact on the foster child in home schooling, so that it requires conflict resolution social skills.

Abstract

Daarut Tauhid as one of the educational institutions that study religion proves that an islamic boarding school does not only deepen the Holy Qur’an and hadith; but also does real activities in the society. Researchers are interested in capturing the process of implementing the "BRTT" program to the ecological intelligence of the Santri[1] of Daarut Tauhid. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of this study include the santri from Daarut Tauhid, the Quality Control Team and Daarut Tauhid Principal. The data are collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the background of implementing this program is the desire to make islamic boarding schools as pioneers of a clean, neat, orderly, and organized attitude to its santri and to the people who live nearby. The process of implementing the BRTT program is carried out in two categories: internally and externally. The obstacles encountered in the implementation of the BRTT program were self-habit constraints and fatigueness. The factors that influence the students in being disciplined in implementing BRTT are self-consciousness and environmental habit. The ecological intelligence of the students of Daarut Tauhid consists of seven aspects: (1) understanding environmental issues and problems from the perspective of ecological balance and sustainability, (2) conducting BRTT starting with a rule, mandatory policies which gradually become a habit and are inherent in self, (3) ways of solving problems creatively and applying knowledge in a new situation (ecological context), (4) oftenly assess the impact and the effects of human actions and technology on the environment, (5) oftenly take into account of the long-term consequences in taking a decisions (environmental context), (6) knowing indicators of clean and healthy living behavior, also (7) ways to give attention, empathy, and care for others and other living things.[1] Santri is the students of islamic boarding school

Abstract

This research is motivated by the researcher’s interest in the values of local wisdom in the ngaji rasa sejarah alam theory on Suku Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Indramayu. It is caused by the result of the researcher’s finding that the values of local wisdom in the ngaji rasa sejarah alam theory can be used as a source of learning in social study learning. Where the use of learning resources based on the values of local wisdom in society is still rarely used by educators. The general purpose of this research is to find out the values of local wisdom that exist in the Suku Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Indramayu, besides the specific purpose is to find out the characteristics, attempts to maintain the ngaji rasa sejarah alam Theory and identify the values of it in the Suku Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Indramayu that can be used as a source of social study learning. In this research, researchers used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of this search indicate that (a) the characteristics of the Suku Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Indramayu are people who wear black and white shorts, bare chests, wear necklace and 3 bracelets on their feet and hands, long-haired, adhere to the natural history theory with its traditional kum-kum, laku pepe, kliwon Friday night ritual, vegetarianism, and devotion to the wives and children. (b) values that are contained: tolerance, ecological intelligence, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and good behavior which is then implemented through the making of the lesson plan based on local wisdom.
