Abstract

The objective condition of the institution regarding the need for department  professional services to students based on established quality standards. Higher education is not only seen as a center of knowledge, a center of research, and a center of community service, but also an institution that needs to compete to guarantee services to users in this case are students. The tight competition of tertiary quality and the demands of the community for quality that is oriented to the value of service users (customer value) ultimately pressures the organization to be able to respond quickly (responsiveness) including prioritizing student satisfaction which is currently used as a benchmark for excellence in higher education competitiveness . The education services of the Social Studies Study Program in this study are focused on the performance of the Head of Study Program, the performance of teaching lecturers, and the performance of administrative staff services. In connection with its function which is always related to students, the Study Program service is expected to realize quality education. However, this ideal condition is inseparable from the factual conditions in the field which shows that there are still some shortcomings of services that are complained of by students and requires further research.

(3) The manifestation of Chinese ethnic social assimilation in Cibadak Chinatown can be seen through the Sundanese language skills possessed by the ethnic Chinese, members of the barongsai community, which are mostly Sundanese, food (noodles and Bacang) that do not contain pork, marriages with Sundanese ethnicity until conversion religion. The problem faced by the current process of social assimilation by the Chinese Ethnic is experiencing a setback in the younger generation due to lack of communication and social contact with other ethnicities in Cibadak Chinatown. The social assimilation of the ethnic Chinese still occurs and can be felt by us, despite the decline, but the ethnic Chinese as one of the ethnic descendants in Indonesia still maintain the value of their ancestors.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on students’ diverse learning outcomes. To maximize learning outcomes, a supportive learning resource is needed. 8th grader students of Junior High School 12 Bandung have used the internet in social science subject learning. Given the limitations of school facilities and infrastructure, all students access the internet in social science subject learning using personal data connection. The internet is used by teachers and students in finding learning materials and seeking completion of school assignments. The internet helps students to get up to date and relevant learning resources. The method used for collecting the data in this study was through observation, interview, and documentation. The research target was students. The findings of this study indicated that by using the internet, students are easier to find learning material and it helps them to work on school assignments completion, and it helps them to obtain scores that tend to increase. The use of the internet as a learning resource makes students better understand the subject matter, makes it easier to find learning material as well as to find answers for their assignments. However, the barrier to the use of the internet as a source of learning for students was when the learning materials sought are combined with other learning materials.
