Scientific Journal of Industrial Engineering and Information (Tekinfo) is a journal managed by Study Programme of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Setia Budi. Tekinfo published every six months, in May and November in each year. Our published manuscript covers disciplines of Industrial Engineering and Information Technology. We are open to readers and researchers to contribute submit the articles. It is our hope that research published at Tekinfo provide a meaningful contribution to the development of science and technology. Abstract

The availability of auxiliary materials is one of the important elements in the production process. Running out of these materials causes the product not to meet the product standards. Therefore, it is necessary to control the supply of auxiliary materials. PT. Petrokimia Gresik, in the process of making fertilizer, used auxiliary materials including Bentonite, Brucite, Red Clay, and Na/K-CO3. In this study, a comparison was made between the min-max method and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The data collected for this study include data on the use of auxiliary materials in 2021, holding costs, ordering costs, Consumption Rate (CR), lead time (LT), safety factor (SF), and unit cost. The results obtained that the use of the EOQ method can reduce the frequency of ordering auxiliary materials and provide savings in total inventory costs of up to 3% compared to the current min-max method. In addition, based on the calculation provide information that Brucite should be put on priority because it provides the highest total inventory cost compared to other auxiliary materials.

Abstract

Indonesia, particularly East Indonesia, accounts for up to 85% of the world's wet seaweeds. Bulukumba is one of Indonesia's most important seaweed producing places. In Babana Hamlet, Bulukumba Regency, 80% of the people is employed as a seaweed grower. Coordination and cooperation between all supply chain actors for seaweed commodities in Bulukumba Regency is required to meet the needs of the market. Poor quality seaweed results in losses to farmers. If this happens, it will result in disruption of the supply chain network, and reduce the profits of the perpetrators. Macroergonomic Structure Analysis (MAS) consists of three main elements of a sociotechnical system, namely the technological subsystem, the personnel subsystem, and the external environment. The only subsystems used were the personnel subsystem and the external environment subsystem. The risk with the highest weight obtained was on the personal subsystem in the professionalism factor with a weight of 0.32 (Motivation decreased during the rainy season). For the external environment factor is a weight of 0.33 (Rainy Season) which is associated with the rainy season. This is because the rainy season has the worst effects. Then the drying process will also be interrupted. The production of seaweed breeders greatly influences the supply chain process. If the risk to seaweed farmers occurs, then the collector traders in carrying out the supply will take longer and the capacity to be transported will also be reduced. The answers found for improvement include picking seeds, acquiring a nursery, acquiring a laboratory, and establishing a landbase to prepare for adverse weather.

Abstract

Abekani Leather is a company engaged in the manufacture of leather accessories made from cowhide. In running its business, abekani leather uses the Make To Stock (MTS) and Make To Order (MTO) systems to meet market needs. In running its business, Abekani Leather is constrained by the number of defective products reaching an average of 5% for the period June-December 2021. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the product defect is still within the limits of the control, the factors that can affect, and suggestions for major improvements..This study uses the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method which aims to statistically control the quality, and the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (F-AHP) to determine the main improvement suggestions. After doing the research, the results obtained are, abekani leather accessories products are still under statistical control, which is indicated by the absence of out of control data on the U map with center line 0.0543. The cause of product defects is influenced by several factors, including Human Factors, Machine Factors, Method Factors and Material Factor. The main improvement suggestion is to hold regular meetings every month to discuss improving the quality of leather accessories products with a score of 0.7459.

Abstract

The number of electric vehicles in Indonesia is currently increasing. One of the problems that hinder the development of electric vehicles is the long charging time. Various ways have been done to overcome the problem of long charging times, including swapping batteries, but this is still not applicable to all types of electric vehicles in Indonesia. Electric vehicle charging facilities in Indonesia are still limited, so there is a need for a good business strategy to minimize queues and uncertainty in waiting times by customers. This study discusses the business schemes of several ways of charging electric vehicles in Indonesia and examines the advantages and disadvantages of each business scheme using SWOT analysis. The strategy in the SWOT analysis focuses on increasing promotion and education to the public, increasing services and the number of charging station locations, setting competitive prices, and expanding partnerships.

Abstract

Product layout in the warehouse is a design to arrange product storage facilities by analyzing product movements to realize efficiency and effectiveness in warehouse operational processes starting from receiving, storing and shipping products to consumers. This research was conducted at the Packaging Materials Warehouse at PT.X. Problems that occur in this packaging material warehouse occur when storing products, the operator will immediately store the product on an empty shelf. In addition, the placement of products contained in this warehouse is placed not adjacent to similar products. Based on this, this study aims to design the layout of the warehouse to make it easier for operators in the process of receiving, storing and shipping products in the warehouse, so as to minimize the distance of moving products. In the research, the approach used is the Class Based Storage method. Based on the results and discussion, it was concluded that the grouping of goods in the packaging materials warehouse of PT. X uses the class based storage method which is divided into 3 classes based on the product input-output process. Class A for the fast moving product category (80%, 10% items), Class B for the slow moving product category (15%, 15% items) and Class C for the non-moving product category (5%, 75% items). Based on the calculation of the total mileage, the distance traveled has decreased by 49.63% or a decrease in distance of 208.032.5 m.

Abstract

The digital dictionary of psychological terms is used to make easier for users to search for terms related to psychology. Usability is an important factor in development of application because it can be used to measure user satisfaction. This study aims to build a digital dictionary application of psychological terms and to analyze its usability level using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. The research used 20 psychology students as respondents. The final value of SUS is 73.5 which indicates that user acceptance (acceptability ranges) is in the acceptable category, meaning that users can accept this application. The results show that the grade scale is still C. Adjective ratings are in the Good category. The test results are positive, the average score reaches 4.3 out of a scale of 5. This indicates that there is a user's desire to use the application (Q1), acknowledges the ease of use (Q3), functions/features provided are complete (Q5), optimism that the application will be used by others (Q7), and users feel confident in using this application (Q9). The results also recommend that for further development, developers need to pay attention to aspects of technical assistance in using applications (Q4), reduce inconsistencies in applications (Q6), and users feel there is still much to learn before using applications (Q10), so digital dictionary developers must improve the design / features to increase the level of user satisfaction.

Abstract

PT Madubaru is a company that produces granulated sugar, spritus and alcohol. Granulated sugar is the main product produced by PT Madubaru. This study aims to analyze the energy efficiency of sugar production at PT Madubaru during the production period of 2022. The analysis of energy efficiency in the production of granulated sugar using the Energy Productivity Ratio (EPR) method shows that in the 2022 production period which runs from May to October 2022, The EPR obtained in the months up to October 2022 shows an EPR value for electricity of 1.2 to 2.44, while for boilers it is between 1.68 and 2.45. The EPR results obtained in each period are in May 2022 with an EPR on electricity of 1.2 while the boiler is 1.16, the EPR in June 2022 is 1.72 electricity and the boiler is 1.68, the EPR in July 2022 on electricity is 1 .93 and the kettle is 1.92, the EPR in August is 1.98 electricity while the kettle EPR is 1.98, in September 2022 the electricity EPR is 2.14 while the kettle is 2.14, in October 2022 the electricity EPR is 2.44 while the kettle 2.45.The highest energy input used during the sugar production period in 2022 is sugarcane with an energy value generated of 431,885,993.55 MJ for electricity and 6,544,947,856.93 MJ for boilers. Based on EPR analysis, energy use in sugar production at PT Madubaru is still feasible.

Abstract

Supplier selection is one of the activities in the flow of supply chain and strategic decisions that can increase the competitive advantages for the company. AF organic shop is a business engaged in the organic food industry. There are several problems related to supplier selection due to the less optimal performance of each supplier. This study employed Analytic Network Process (ANP) method and assisted with the Software Super Decisions in order to determine the primary criteria and sub-criteria in the process of supplier selection, adjusted to the requirements of AF by comparing various feedbacks regarding each supplier against the specified criteria to achieve company goals. The results revealed that the order of the essential criteria for AF’s suppliers sequentially are quality (0.417), price (0.360), service (0.159), and delivery (0,070). Meanwhile, the primarily subcriteria considered supplier selection was the conformity of products and specifications with the score 0.739. Quality criteria is the most important focus for AF since it committed to maintain the quality of organic food ingredients sold to consumers. Therefore, it indicated that the best supplier was WSM with the score 0.446.

Abstract

PT Panggung Jaya Indah Pekalongan is a manufacturing company in Indonesia that produces woven sarongs. The company uses conventional raw material scheduling techniques to plan raw materials. Scheduling is used to plan and control the supply of raw materials at the lowest or minimum possible cost. This research was conducted to estimate demand until 2023 and used the help of LINGO software for aggregate scheduling. It then continued with designing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and raw material scheduling. The development of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) was carried out by comparing the effects of some lot-sizing scoring systems, which is the process of calculating the optimum order size of a material based on netting requirements. Lot-sizing methods in this study include period order quantity (POQ), economic order quantity (EOQ), and least total cost (LTC). By using the lot-sizing method, the company can manage raw material inventory efficiently and effectively. The batch size model used is the one that presents the smallest cost per unit of inventory.

Abstract

This research was motivated by a need for more optimization in mixing and pouring baglog planting media into the plastic at Omah Jamur Ungaran. This mixing process has several drawbacks, such as baglog experiencing clumping, so sifting is needed. The pouring of baglog planting media is still done manually, pouring the mixing results into the soil and then putting it in plastic. It is feared that the pouring of baglog results into the ground has contaminated the place of pouring the results baglog mixing. They fear that the pouring baglog will result in the environment. There is contamination at the location of running the results of baglog mixing. This study aims to determine whether sifting and mixing can combine into one process and the method using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly methods. This study resulted in the design, calculations, and Static Stress Frame tests using the simulation feature of AutodeskFusion360, with a maximum capacity of 40kg, using a 1hp motor, rotation speed has 140 RPM. From study has the results, it was concluded this machine could produce results in 55 minutes, producing 150 Baglog, eliminating the sieving process installing an iron net with a size of 5mm, process mixing and pouring planting media baglog using the results of the machine design has made. Application of design for manufacturing and assembly method at design tool has simplified components of the previous machine into 12 parts at the machine has made.
