Abstract

This study was intended to understand students’ interest in physics at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muhajirin Pandan. The subject of this study is XII MIA students at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muhajirin Pandan, while the object of this study is the interest of XII MIA students at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muhajirin Pandan. The method used was a qualitative approach for case study. The data collection technique was questionnaire, and then the data was analyzed by using interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The analysis result shows that students' interest toward physics at Madrasah Aliyah AL-Muhajirin Pandan already has the percentage in about 70% in average. This study provides knowledge that other researchers can use to identify the unknown factors affecting students' interest in physics

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are necessary skills to deal with the 21st century. This research aimed to develop a HOTS-based assessment instrument on acid-base for class XI that meets the aspects of validity, reliability, difficulty level and distinguishing power. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study with a 4D model. The quality of the product was assessed by one material expert lecturer, one media expert lecturer, and four chemistry teachers of high school and tested on 30 science students in eleventh grade. The assessment of product quality obtained from material experts is 97.67% with the Very Good (VG) category; from media expert, it was 97.44% with the Very Good (VG) category; according to chemistry teachers, all items are feasible to be used as a field trial. After conducting the field trial, the product contained 18 valid items and 2 invalid items with the very reliable category, which was 0.899. At the difficulty level, the product had 11 easy items and 9 medium items. At the level of distinguishing power, the product had 1 very bad item, 2 sufficient items, 9 good items, and 8 very good items. Therefore, the resulting assessment questions instrument can be used to measure students' HOTS knowledge

Abstract

This research aims to produce a student worksheet based on Science Process Skills (SPS) on the concept of the excretory system and to see the responses of teachers and students to the worksheet. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), which is modified into 3D (without Disseminate). The instruments used in this study included a checklist of student worksheets, interview sheets, content validity and readability test instruments for student worksheets, and teacher and student response questionnaires. The development process was through a validity test by three experts, a readability test by 12 students, and a field trial by one biology teacher and 90 students. The results showed that the developed worksheet had an average validity percentage of 85.40% with excellent criteria. In the readability test, the average percentage of the worksheet reached 92.01%, with excellent criteria as well. While in the field trial, the responses of teachers and students showed excellent criteria with percentages of 87.42% and 86.65%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the Student Worksheet is very suitable to be used in learning activities

Abstract

Indonesia's scientific literacy ability is low with a score of 389. This score can indicate the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. To improve critical thinking can be done by innovating learning tools. For this reason, this research was conducted using the R&D method to develop UKBM which can help students achieve learning mastery. UKBM is part of the learning tools. In this study, UKBM was prepared based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the physics of the human circulatory system. So that it can be used by students in learning to enrich their knowledge by oriented towards critical thinking skills. The model used in this research is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research was conducted during the Covid-19 virus pandemic, so there has been no effectiveness test. The validity of UKBM was obtained through validation of Education Study Program lecturers at FMIPA UM and science teachers at SMPN 8 Malang. The readability test was carried out on 31 students of SMPN 8 Malang grades 9E and 9F who had received material on the physics of the human circulatory system. The percentage of UKBM product validity was 85.41% and the readability test percentage was 87.98%. Based on these results, the PBL-based UKBM on the Physics of the Human Circulatory System Oriented Critical Thinking Skills was declared valid and passed the readability test.

Abstract

Teaching materials commonly used in science learning include visual, audiovisual, and interactive multimedia teaching materials. The research design is a review of journals published in Sinta 2016-2021 with categories Sinta 6 to Sinta 2. The final result obtained is that there are 24 journals regarding the development of teaching materials. Teaching materials that have been developed include printed and digital teaching materials. Print teaching materials in the form of books, modules and comics. Digital teaching materials in the form of virtual reading rooms, videos and interactive CDs. Based on the SWOT analysis that has been carried out, there are weaknesses in the teaching materials that have been developed, namely they cannot be applied to independent learning without a teacher and are limited to material whose phenomena are easily observed by students. For this reason, UKBM (Independent Learning Activity Unit) teaching materials are very appropriate for students to study independently without a teacher. In addition, material for the circulatory system based on physics in this UKBM teaching material can help students understand abstract concepts that students cannot observe directly.

Abstract

Students’ problem-solving skills in natural science are considered low. This research aims to find out the feasibility, effectiveness, and practicality of e-comic media in science learning that are capable of improving problem-solving skills. The research is a research and development with ADDIE development procedures (analysis, design, development, implementation, and Evaluation). The validity level is obtained through expert validation sheets, whereas the effectiveness level is identified through a trial using a one-group pretest-posttest design with a paired sample t-test analysis.  Student questionnaires are used to gain the practicality level. The research results indicate that the media expert assessment is 4.43 and the content expert assessment is 4.23 and both are very valid. The effectiveness level generates a t-value of 11.379 with a significance level of 0.05, which means there is a significant improvement in problem-solving skills. The average gain score is 0.56 or in a moderate category. Students’ questionnaires on the e-comic media resulted in a percentage of 83.54%. The research concludes that e-comic media are feasible to be used in improving problem-solving skills in science learning

Abstract

Science learning is a learning process that emphasizes natural phenomena and their relationships. This development research aims to determine the feasibility of a flipbook-assisted practicum guide that has been made, and to determine students' learning motivation using flipbook media on measuring physics material which is associated with measuring ideal body weight. The instrument used was 20 students from SMP Negeri 5 Jombang Class VII F. The results obtained were validation of media experts and material experts with a summary of aspects obtained by an average of 84.25% with a very good category. For the validation of the student response questionnaire the average percentage of 89.75% in the very good category. And the results of the student learning motivation response questionnaire with 3 aspects of the assessment averaged 84.60% in the very good category, so this flipbook-based media can be used to increase the motivation of junior high school students in measuring practicum

Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop an e worksheet that refers to a competent and effective problem-based learning model. The method of this study is RnD (Research and Development). This study includes a development study using a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Dissiminate). The product of this study is the e worksheet problem-based learning model. High school teachers validate learning tools with three practical validators. Subjects were class X students in mathematics and natural science public high school 1 Baturetno. The results showed that 1) the e worksheet problem-based learning model was included in the valid category, 2) the e worksheet problem-based learning model was used effectively in e-learning

Abstract

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument (Attitude Toward Physics) with Peer and Self Assessment Techniques to Grow an Attitude of Responsibility and Student Cooperation towards learning physics. The research method used is development research. The research design is in the form of a 4-D model developed by Thiagarajan (1994) with stages that include define, design, develop, and dissemination. Test the validity of the instrument using content validation carried out by the validator. Analysis of the reliability of the instrument using the Alpha Crounbach formula. The validation results from the validator state that the affective assessment instrument (Attitude Toward Physics) with Peer and Self Assessment Techniques to Grow Students' Attitudes of Responsibility and Cooperation towards learning physics is feasible to use.

Abstract

This study aims to collect and analyze the data needed for the development of ICT-based teaching materials in evolution courses on phylogeny topic. The methods used are systematic reviews and surveys. Based on the results of a systematic review, it can be concluded that the trend of research on evolution courses on phylogeny topic in scientific articles published in 2015-2021 is the mastery of tree thinking skills. The teaching materials developed to support the mastery of tree thinking skills are booklets, modules, and game cards.  Based on the results of the survey, it can be concluded that the majority of students prefer to use smartphones instead of laptops to find and study evolution lecture materials and only a small percentage of students who have obstacles to accessing the internet both in the classroom and outside campus. The highest percentage of electronic teaching materials that students like the most are more diverse teaching materials. This need analysis provides information that can be used to develop ICT-based teaching materials on phylogeny topic
