Abstract

Internet becomes more popular over time. Everything can be connected with the internet with larger coverage area which makes everyone have a higher dependence on it. Along with that, internet-based technology development and application is also moving to its best pattern. In the development, there are a lot of devices that can be used for Internet-of-Things system development. However, Internet-of-Things system has the following security vulnerabilities especially for access control and data protection. For the data privacy protection, it becomes more critical especially when using a standard TCP/IP based application layer protocol to secure the data before its transmitted from the client to the server. This work will be focused on the data privacy security development using a cryptographic scheme for Internet-of-Things system. Attribute Based Encryption (ABE) is one of cryptographic scheme that can be one of the best choices for data protection implementation in embedded device using NVIDA Jetson Nano. It will demonstrate the design of Key-Policy Attribute Based Encryption (KP-ABE) scheme to generate a symmetric key that will be used for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) while encryption and decryption process. The result shows the execution time of key generation, data encryption and decryption using unique number of attributes.

Abstract

Communication skills and collaboration skills are two of the 21st century soft skills that are very important to be mastered by prospective biology teacher students. Therefore, it is necessary to design learning that is oriented towards empowering these skills. This study aims to develop a learning design based on information processing theory, and to test its effectiveness on the communication skills and collaboration skills of prospective biology teacher students at the FKIP, Mataram University. This study is a development research whose procedure uses the ADDIE development research model. The product produced in this study is a learning design based on information processing theory consisting of RPS, RTM and Student Learning Journals. The results of the validation by biology learning experts stated that the learning design was declared valid. The results of the learning design effectiveness test showed that the application of learning design in the biology learning strategy course was effective for communication skills, collaboration skills, and students' understanding of concepts. Based on the validation results, and the effectiveness test of the application of learning design, it can be stated that learning design based on information processing theory can be used as one of the innovative learning designs that is oriented towards strengthening soft skills, especially for students' communication skills and collaboration skills

Abstract

Web applications are widely used nowadays, but comprises several vulnerabilities that are often used by attacker to exploit the system. There is web application firewall (WAF) that could mitigate these problem. WAF generally works based on pre-established rules. However, the weakness of this system is the evolving nature of attacks, and configuring rules on WAF requires in-depth knowledge related to existing applications. Artificial intelligence technology, both machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), shows good potential in recognizing types of attacks. In this research, a Real-time DL-based WAF was built to enhance security in web applications. Various ML and DL models were tested to perform the task of web attack detection, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Based on the test results, the CNN-LSTM model achieved the highest performance, namely an accuracy of 98.61%, precision of 99%, recall of 98.08%, and f1-score of 98.54%. From the testing results with a web vulnerability scanner, the performance of the DL-based WAF is not inferior to ModSecurity WAF, which is used as a comparison. From the analysis results, it can be concluded that the implementation of DL-based WAF can improve the security of web applications.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model based on aquascape media on students' metacognitive abilities and learning outcomes in ecosystem material. The research used a Pretest-Posttest Control Group experimental design, consisting of control and experimental classes. The population of the study included 241 tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Idi Rayeuk, with a sample of 68 students determined through random sampling techniques. Data on metacognitive abilities were collected using a metacognitive state inventory, while learning outcomes were measured using written tests. Data analysis employed the Independent-Sample T test to analyze the impact of the PjBL model based on aquascape media on metacognitive abilities and learning outcomes. The results showed that the PjBL model had a significant effect on metacognitive abilities with a p-value of 0.030 (p < 0.05), as well as a significant effect on learning outcomes with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the PjBL model based on aquascape media has a positive effect on enhancing students' metacognitive abilities and learning outcomes in ecosystem material.

Abstract

Feasibility studies are essential tools used to assess the viability and potential success of a project or investment. These studies provide critical information that helps stakeholders make informed decisions by analyzing various factors such as costs, benefits, risks, and potential returns. One specific type of project that often undergoes feasibility evaluation is housing development. In many cases, the feasibility assessment of housing projects is typically conducted by estimating the number of units sold without necessarily examining actual sales data. This approach can lead to inaccuracies and misguided conclusions. To address this gap, our research aims to re-evaluate the investment feasibility of ongoing housing projects by incorporating actual sales data and predicting future sales figures. By doing so, we can provide a more accurate and reliable assessment of the project's viability. The findings from this re-evaluation indicate that the investment in housing development remains highly feasible. Key financial metrics support this conclusion: the project has a Payback Period (PP) of just 0.55 years, meaning the initial investment is recovered in a little over half a year. Additionally, the Net Present Value (NPV) stands at Rp 103,917,111,414, reflecting the project's substantial profitability. Furthermore, the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is an impressive 81.73%, far exceeding typical investment benchmarks. Lastly, the Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) of 1.53 demonstrates that the benefits of the project significantly outweigh the costs, confirming its overall financial soundness. These results underscore the importance of using comprehensive data analysis in feasibility studies to ensure accurate and effective investment decisions.

Abstract

Papua, an equatorial region in Indonesia, faces unique geographical and natural challenges, including heavy annual rainfall. This heavy rainfall increases flooding risks and impacts infrastructure, the economy, and daily life. Despite the importance of rain gauges for monitoring floods and climate change, Papua's difficult geography and limited transportation infrastructure hinder their installation and maintenance. In this work, we investigate a deep learning one-dimensional convolution neural network (1DCNN) model to estimate rainfall intensity using energy per symbol to noise power density ratio (Es/No) of the signals received from a communication satellite signal coupled with additional data representing satellite daily movement. The findings of this study demonstrate that the performance of the proposed model has a higher accuracy for moderate to heavy rainfall than for light rainfall. The NRMSE values for light rain, moderate rain, and heavy rain are 47.09, 31.78, and 33.58%, respectively. These results show that this method is promising for monitoring heavy rainfall as a flood mitigation effort. However, there is still room to improve the accuracy of the estimation such as using other secondary data that is highly correlated with rain at the satellite transceiver location.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the perceptions of science teachers towards e-worksheet based on the yellow well water purification project to improve students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is mixed methods with Explanatory Sequential Design. The data was collected through a questionnaire, then analyzed using descriptive analysis. The questionnaires were distributed to 13 science teacher respondents and 176 junior high school students in Susunan Baru sub-district area. The research results show that 69% of teachers have not used project-based electronic worksheet; based on student questionnaire responses, 72% of teachers have given project assignments to solve problems, but these projects are not based on real problems in the environment. The environmental problem that occurs in Susunan Baru sub-district area is the problem of the quality of well water being polluted by contaminants, causing the water to be yellow and smelly. The current worksheet has not completely train students' critical thinking skills because they are not based on real problems. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that e-worksheet based on the yellow well water purification project is needed to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Paraboea leuserensis BL Burtt, a plant endemic to the provinces of Aceh and North Sumatra, is traditionally used for medicinal purposes by chewing or boiling, treating conditions such as stomach aches and increasing stamina. Research This aiming to know difference activity antioxidant and antimicrobial from extract ethanol gagatan harimau leaves. Extraction was carried out using the maceration method using ethanol solvent. Phytochemical testing includes tests alkanoids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, steroids and triterpenoids. Antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl) method which was measured at a wavelength of 515 nm and antibacterial activity test by disc diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer Test). Test results phytochemicals show metabolit secondary contained​ in extract ethanol leaf idea tiger among them alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins, and steroids/triterpenoids. Extract ethanol gagatan harimau leaf own activity antioxidants that are classified as strong based on IC50 value obtained​ as big as 45.95 ppm Activity test antimicrobial In E. coli inhibition zone value highest at concentrations of 75%, and 50%., S. aureus mark the highest inhibition zone at concentrations of 75% and 50%, then in C. albicans with inhibition zone values at concentrations of 75% and 50%.

Abstract

The implementation of the Edupark physics e-book uses a scientific approach to improve environmental literacy skills in accordance with the learning that is expected to be developed to face the industrial revolution 4.0. This research aims to see and analyze eduparks at beach tourist After analysis, this Edupark e attractions and the relationship between physical materials and these tourist attractions. -book can be developed. The results of this study are printed books are still dominantly used in schools, and there is still a lack of use of non-printed books; The average results of students' knowledge and skills are still low, Teaching materials integrated with Edupark at tourist attractions are still rarely used, the effectiveness of using a scientific approach. The conclusion from the results of this research is that there is a need to develop an integrated physics education e-book in tourist destinations.

Abstract

Communities at the foot of Mount Arjuno not only have the potential for coffee cultivation but also cattle rearing. Indirectly, the forest fires that occurred were the cause of the reduction in supporting materials to meet their livestock needs. However, this change brings a number of problems that need to be addressed. The SWOT method is used to understand in depth the internal and external factors that influence job transitions. AHP method is used to measure and assess the relative weight of each factor identified through SWOT analysis. The research results show that the management of the socio-economic impact of changing the behavior of charcoal makers to coffee farmers in Jatiarjo Village shows that this village has great potential to utilize supporting natural resources and rich local knowledge in coffee cultivation. The threat of climate change and fluctuations in coffee market prices must be anticipated with appropriate adaptation strategies. The AHP results show that human resource (HR) capacity development has the highest weight in strategic priorities, followed by socio-economic impacts, policy, market access, and the environment.
