Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is located between two continents and two oceans, where the volcanic mountain paths meet, namely the Pacific Circum and the Mediterranean Circum, is one of the countries that has a large enough disaster potential. But on the other hand, this condition has a logical consequence that Indonesia is a country that has a high level of vulnerability to natural disasters. West Java itself is one of the areas prone to natural disasters. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that there were 8 provinces that were most frequently hit by disasters during the 2016 period, West Java ranked third after Central Java and East Java.Analyze the level of resilience of disaster management before and after being given the Simulation method and knowing the role of high school students in disaster management using the simulation method. The research method used a quantitative analysis design, with a Quasi Experimental research design with Pre and Post-Experimental measuring the resilience of students who received simulation exercises without a control group. Sampling used the Simple Random Sampling technique with the criteria of Grade 10 and Grade 11 students as many as 30 students at SMA Negeri I Parongpong, Lembang, West Badung Regency. The instrument used in the study used the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) questionnaire. The results of the study showed that there were differences in the perceptions of youth in disaster management and the role of senior high school students in resilience before and after the stimulation method was used. The simulation method is more effective in increasing resilience to disaster management.

Abstract

Self-efficacy of implementing nurses is a nurse's confidence and ability to carry out discharge planning that aims to improve the quality of health that will affect the sustainability of sustainable care in patients. The goal of the study was to identify determinants of self-efficacy of implementing nurses and analyze the most dominant factors for discharge planning implementation. The design used in this study was cross-sectional with a sample number of 187 implementing nurses selected through simple random sampling using questionnaires as instruments. Data is univariate, bivariate with chi square test, and multivariate with binary logistic regression test. The results of bivariate analysis of burnout variables (p value 0.002) and self esteem (p value <0.001) have a significant influence on discharge planning implementation while multivariate analysis results show that burnout and self esteem variables have the most dominant influence in discharge planning implementation. It is expected that the implementing nurse can increase the value of self-efficacy in themselves through improving good self-function so that it has an impact on the quality of service in the implementation of discharge planning.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is still a major health problem among children under 5 years old. One of the clinical manifestations besides cough, sore throat, and fever is sleep difficulty. Sleep is essential for children to support growth and development. The supportive management for babies with ARI is the baby massage. However, most parents view that sleep disorder is not a big problem. This study aimed to see the effect of baby massage on sleep quality for infants under 12 months diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI). This research is a quantitative perspective using a quasi-experimental study. Respondents were divided into control and intervention groups, with 60 respondents, 30 control groups and 30 intervention groups. Data was collected before and after the baby massage intervention. Instruments were used: The Brief Infant Sleep Questionnaire (BISQ-R) tool with a total of questions is 19 distributed in 3 subscales consisting of Infant Sleep, Parent Perception, and Parent Behaviour with the r-test retest (r >.82) indicating high correlations. Data were analyzed using bivariate calculations. Based on the results, the baby's mean age is 7.77±3.29 and is mostly boys. The independent T-test shows a significant effect in the intervention group before and after a baby massage from 60.50+-8.29 to 77.75 ± 9.98. with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Massaging children in the intervention group twice a day, morning and evening, improves sleep quality among babies with ARI; therefore, a structured operational procedure should be implemented in the children's ward, and pediatric nurses must also be skilled with baby massage.

Abstract

Pregnant women were recognized as a at risk population and recommended for self-isolate to decrease potential infected of the virus Covid-19. The aim of this study was to identify the effect and influences factor to achieve recommendation level of physical activity of pregnant women during Covid-19 pandemic. A community internet-based survey was conducted with 300 randomly selected pregnant women who required antenatal care at midwives and gynecologists in Makassar City, Indonesia. Physical activity levels were assessed using standardized Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire. The multivariable logistic regressions were used to assess the influences factors associated to achieve recommendation level of physical activity of ≥ 600 MET minutes per week of pregnant women. The logistic regression model was applied to assess the influences factors to achieve recommended level of physical activity of ≥ 600 MET minutes per week among pregnant women. The pregnant women with a higher secondary or above degree were 3.23 times more likely to be achieve recommendation level of physical activity, compared to those with primary or below education (OR = 3.23, 95% CI: 2.20 to 4.73, p=0.001). Pregnant women need to be better informed about the positive effects of PA during pregnancy. Health care provider should develop some program to advise and support pregnant women to improve their PA level.

Abstract

The picky eater problem is one of the beginnings of toddler stunting. This problem needs to be solved with scientifically proven interven- tions. This systematic review is focused on looking at complementary and alternative interventions that are scientifically proven to be ef- fective in treating picky eaters. This study aims to identify, evaluate, and summarize the findings of all relevant literature on complemen- tary & alternative therapies for picky eaters in children (1-6 years). Search for articles on PubMed, ProQUestProQuest, Google Scholar, and Crossref search engines related to literature from 2012-2022. Inclusion criteria were original research articles that examined an intervention on picky eating in children with complementary & alter- native therapeutic approaches. Quantitative, experimental research published in English and Indonesian with child participants with picky eater problems. The data were studied and analyzed with qualitative and narrative methods. There are a few articles (10 items) that re- view the effectiveness of an intervention to treat nutritional problems and the symptoms of picky eaters. Interventions with complementary approaches and alternative therapies were found to be very few. Most of them are in the form of conventional interventions such as health education, oral supplementation, counselling, and interventions with similar approaches. Several interventions are given in combination. There is an intervention for handling picky eaters given to respon- dents who have nutritional problems accompanied by other diseases. There is an insufficient number of scientific articles found related to interventions for picky eaters with complementary approaches and alternative therapies, therefore scientific evidence with research and publications is still a big opportunity and is very much needed in the future.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the prevalence of breast cancer is quite high, from report data (Riskesdas, 2018) stating that breast cancer reaches 42.1% with an average death rate of around 17%. The type of treatment that is often used by breast cancer patients is a mastectomy. Masectomy raises physical and psychological impact. The current phenomenon is that many women experience some level of psychosocial pressure during their cancer journey, which can have an impact on issues of faith or religiosity, self-compassion, and quality of life (Hewit et al, 2019). The research design conducted by researchers is observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were breast cancer patients after mastectomy surgery at Dr. Soebandi Jember and the sample of this study were 38 respondents. The religiosity analysis in this study found that the religiosity study of patients who experienced breast cancer post-masectomy surgery obtained that the median value of the religiosity variable was 60.00 with the lowest value being 23 and the highest being 64. Meanwhile, the self-compassion analysis found that self-compassion research on patients who experienced breast cancer after mastectomy surgery found that the median value of the self-compassion variable was 94.50 with the lowest value being 65 and the highest being 98. Analysis using Pearson Product moment obtained a p-value of 0.000 less than 0.05 so that the Ha hypothesis is accepted or it can be said that there is a relationship between religiosity and self-compassion in post-massectomy breast cancer patients at Dr. Soebandi Jember.

Abstract

A bag valve mask (BVM) is a tool that provides basic life support measures for ventilation assistance. The effectiveness of providing ventilation assistance can be influenced by the accuracy of the timing of ventilation to minimize the risk of hyperventilation. This study aims to analyze current research themes and trends in the global use and adaptation of BVMs. The research design used descriptive analysis with a bibliometric analysis approach through the Publish or Perish and VosViewer applications. The article search period used was 2000-2023 from the Scopus and PubMed databases and continued with a trend analysis of the topics studied. The results of article searches that have been carried out on the Publish or Perish application obtained 193 articles that discuss BVM since 2000-2023 based on the Scopus and Pubmed databases. There are 3 clusters of research topics, namely, the comparison of the use of BVM with other tools in the ventilation or oxygenation process, the use of BVM in the intubation or induction process, and research related to the effectiveness of BVM tools modified with different techniques or shapes. According to the results of the bibliometric analysis, 193 articles are related to the topic of BVM. Currently, research on BVMs consists of comparison, effectiveness of use, and process actions that involve BVMs. However, research has yet to be conducted on BVM modification. This is a great opportunity for researchers to conduct innovative research to develop BVM with various facilities that can support it.

Abstract

Optimal development is the goal that the child is expected to achieve during maturation which can be categorized into 5 domains, one of which is fine motor development. Fine motor development takes longer to achieve than gross motor development so it is necessary to stimulate one of them with a play approach. This study aims to analyze the development of LADO BALA play therapy (playdough Natural ingredients) on fine motor development and anxiety levels in children in the agricultural area. This research is a quasy experiment research with one group pretest-posttest design. The respondents in this study were 78 pre-school children with purposive sampling techniques. The measuring tools used in this study were DDST sheets to assess development and Faces Image Scale (FIS) to assess anxiety. The novelty in this study is that the media used is the result of the development of researchers, namely playdough with natural ingredients, namely wheat flour, salt, food coloring, warm water by utilizing local resources and wisdom in the agronursing area, namely using coconut oil which is safe and beneficial for children's skin health. The data obtained were analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed ranks test to determine the influence between variables. The results of each analysis were obtained namely p = 0.001 which stated that there was an influence of the development of playdough play on fine motor development and anxiety levels in children in the agriculture area. Playing lado bala facilitates children's development through squeezing, shaking, and increasing creativity in children, as well as making children feel happy so as to reduce anxiety in children.Playing ladobala can be one of the stimulations of fine motor development in pre-shool children in the agronursing area and ladobala media can be made by children with parents with easily available and safe materials.
