Abstract

A good inventory management becomes crucial for a company since it is related to some inventory costs. In managing inventory, in general we need to determine the optimal order quantity and the optimal time to order. In some cases, when supplier offers discount, a company tends to accept this offer although it needs to consider its storage capacity. In this paper, we develop a multi-item probabilistic inventory model with all-units discount and storage space restriction. We employed the Kuhn-Tucker Conditions to find the optimal order policy. From the numerical experiments, we found that when the storage capacity increases then the optimal time to order and the optimal quantity increase but the total cost decreases.

Abstract

The experiment has a purpose to observe performance of indirect passive solar dryer, so that it can raise the effectivity of drying process without decreasing  the nutrition of  biopharmaca rhizome. This observation using a fresh turmeric rhizome as an experiment matter. Each process using 2 kg turmeric rhizome. Turmeric rhizome cut alongside  for about 3-5 mm. The design of this experiment using a factorial design with two influential factors which is can be control, that is the size of inlet hole and exhaust. Response of this experiment show by moisturising level  from turmeric rhizome. The measuring of moisturizing level  in each treatment are doing every 8 hours. The sample of turmeric rhizome are take for 3 sample.    The trial result show that the temperature of dryer equipment is reached for 53.5 celcius. Moreover, the rate air flow for about 1,02 m/s in inlet hole and 0,43 m/s in exhaust hole. There are significant difference  between  inlet and exhaust level, moreover there is an interaction between inlet and exhaust hole to decline moisturizing level of simplisia turmeric. The optimal setting of this dryer equipment can be obtain with some action of closing the inlet hole for about ¾ and exhaust hole for about 1/2 from its part. The position of the rack didn’t influence the rate of decrease water content.

Abstract

Industrial Tourism in Town of Bandung not yet earned to give output (performasi of system) which can give economic contribution which isn't it. This research aim to for the development of mathematical model to predict of economic contribution of tourist visit. Development of this mathematical model will start with correlational research. This model is expected good for developing proposal for the agenda of improving performance of system existing as according to policy of public Development of Tourism and Culture Of Town of Bandung. On duty tourism can use proposal model to improve tourism performance. One of the program proposal the lifted is "Dinas Pariwisata harus berfungsi sebagai motor penggerak dalam promosi pariwisata dan menjadi voulenter sadar wisata".

Abstract

Library with good environment will create comfort, calmness, and satisfaction for users while doing the activities. One of the aspects to consider in creating a good library environment is lighting. Lighting needs can be met from day lighting and artificial lighting. Artificial lighting had advantage in terms of relatively constant light intensity in the range of work hours, but this approach requires electric operating costs. This research analyzes the current lighting conditions in Sebelas Maret University library that influenced by day lighting and artificial lighting. The analysis process will be using software surfer V.10 based on the value of the intensity of light at each measuring point. The result indicated that the average of light intensity is still below the prescribed standard so that redesign needs to be done. In the redesign process only focuses on the artificial lighting that calculated using lumen method with two different conditions.

Abstract

In the most general sense, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) can be described as a universally accepted set of metrics that bring clear focus to the key success drivers for manufacturing enterprises. In this case, OEE quantifies how well a Filling and Packing Unit (F & P Unit) performs relative to its designed capacity, during the periods when it is scheduled to run. OEE breaks the performance of a F & P Unit into three separate but measurable components: Availability, Performance, and Quality. Each component points to an aspect of the process that can be targeted for improvement as parts of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). In a TPM program, the Teams at F & D Unit, should looking to see what causes the problems so that they know when it is time to act, and know what problem needs to be fixed. The Cause Effect Diagram used on identify the root causes of poor equipment performance, then Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) used to generate the relationship of components causes of poor equipment performance and then to improve equipment operation. The OEE rating is targeted 85%, butit is unlikely that F & P Unit only can run at 78.2% rating. A comprehensive, The Design of Overall Equipment Effectiveness Metrics System, will provide operator’s F & P Unit to monitor and improve the efficiency of process of manufacturing.

Abstract

Papadopoulos et.al (2004) has developed system analysis method by combining the FTA and FMEA methods. Generally, the combining method consist of FTA step and FMEA step. On this research, FTA step is used to describe the problem by finding its basic events and minimal cut set. Then FMEA step is used to determine problem elimination priorities based on their Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. Severity, occurence and detection is used to determine the RPN value.

Abstract

Plasa Telkom Solo is a service place belonging to Telkom which is provided to serve Telkom customer with nine service servers. Those nine services servers can handle new setting and mutation, complains, information, and cash payment and non cash payment. Queue in the scale of customer service is important to be considered because the long queue will make the customer uncomfortable. The queue happens because the need of service is bigger than the capacity of service. Therefore, the customer cannot be served immediately because the busy service. This research is conducted to analyze the queue system to find the best number of the server and service system in Plasa Telkom Solo. This research uses simulation method to find the best solution for the company to decide the number of the servers. Thesimulation model is used because this model can give solution if analytic model is failed to do that. Analytic model cannot be used in this research since in Plasa Telkom Solo there are four kinds of service with different approximate time service.Based on the research, the best numbers of server is seven. Meanwhile, the service system model are combining service 1 (new setting and mutation) and service 2 (complain) with the number of server 5 and service 3 (information) combines with service 4 (cash payment and non cash payment) with number of server is 2. This model can reduce the queue time for 21,7325 minutes (before the simulation) to be 17,8694 minutes (after simulation). The time difference is 3.8631 minutes with utilization 0,8996 (89,96%) or 458,796 minutes (7,65 hours) per day and the free time for the server is 0,1004 (10,04%) atau 51,2040 minutes (0,85 hours) per day, in which per day there is 8,5 work time.

Abstract

Penelitian menghasilkan sebuah model sistem ketertelurusan (traceability) produk pertanian khususnya buah-buahan di tingkat petani menggunakan teknologi Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID). Model sistem ketertelususan disusun untuk menjamin diterimanya buah-buahan yang aman dan berkualitas oleh konsumen karena konsumen dapat menelusur informasi mengenai buah-buahan secara lengkap mulai dari proses budidaya, panen dan paskapanen yang termasuk di dalamnya rantai dsitribusi.Teknologi RFID dipilih karena banyak digunakan sebagai perangkat penelusuran produk dan telah menjadi salah satu bagian teknologi Near Field Contact (NFC) pada beberapa teknologi smart phone untuk proses pertukaran data.Penelitian dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan. Tahap pertama adalah melakukan identifikasi rantai pasok buah-buahan yang dikhususkan pada salah satu jenis buah yakni pisang. Kedua, identifikasi bentuk data yang dibutuhkan dan digunakan dalam ketertelusuran buah di tingkat petani. Ketiga, penyusunan model atau desain arsitektur dan infrastruktur ketertelusuran buah-buahan pada tingkat petani. Hasil penelitian ini menggambarkan lebih detail bagaimana ketertelusuran buah-buahan dilakukan menggunakan teknologi RFID dibanding sejumlah artikel yang ada dalam mengkaji umum model ketertelusuran produk pertanian menggunakan teknologi RFID.

Abstract

This paper proposes a neighborhood search to solve scheduling for fabrics making in a textile industry. The production process consists of three production stages from spinning, weaving, and dyeing. All stages have one processor. Setup time between two consecutive jobs with different color is considered. This paper also proposes attribute’s decomposition of a single job to classify available jobs to be processed and to consider setup time between two consecutive jobs. Neighborhood search (NS) algorithm is proposed in which the permutation of set of jobs with same attribute and the permutation among set of jobs is conducted. Solution obtained from neighborhood search, which might be trapped in local solution, then is compared with other known optimal methods.
