Abstract

To face globalization era that led to a more competitive, a higher education institution need to set up a strategic management system in order to develop its organization performance to survive and winning the competition. To set up strategic management, the institution must exactly recognize the performance level of it’s organization. That’s why the performance measurement system to help the organization enhance its performance is needed.XYZ college as a higher institution, wants to improve it’s performance by developing a management system to evaluate the current implemented strategy. The balanced scorecard approach as one of performance measurement method by integrating financial and non financial measures is used to design the the performance measurement system in this research. The balanced scorecard design of XYZ college constructed by considering the model from BAN, Competitive Funding Scheme, and the result from other researches. To accommodate the vision, mision, and objective of the XYZ institusion, this research involved thirthteen respondent who are executives management that consist of: Director; director assistant, and department chairmans. After the performance measurement system designed using balanced scorecard method, the weight of each perspectives, objective criterias, and performance indicators then calculated using AHP method. Next, performance level of institusion represented by 1-10 scale based on OMAX. This research present the XYZ College performance measurement result of 2004 and proposes strategic suggestion to enhance the institution performance.

Abstract

The competition on industry that being increase, and the rapidly development of industry, encourage the industrialization to move the production more effective and efficient, so can press down the production cost that have to paid. One of them is redesigning machine or production equipment that still have manually characteristic. This research was redesign the machine production that is scales tools which is moved manually, so this condition need a long time in scales process. Redesign the scales tools doing by using the automatic toward it. The method that was choosing is implementation the microcontroller system control technology.Microcontroller is IC that was function to control, give instruction and produce the signals that will send to infrared censor, optocoupler and relay to move conveyor motor and motor arm. Microcontroller used as controlling module system. This control module use OP AMP, ADC, relay, LDR and opto encourage working process. In the last design was produce prototype scales tools that give easily in scales process, so can accelerate prototype working process, production cost more cheap and increasing production capacity.

Abstract

Logistics costs related to effectiveness and efficiency of product flow. Logistics costing conducted based on total cost approach as structured approach to determine the total costs of products or services. The bottled water manufacture in Surakarta, total cost determination of company’s products exactless to explain resources absorbtion by product. This research implements activity-based costing (ABC) system to calculate total costs of product exactly and accurately. ABC system orientated that activity supporting product flow from procurement up to product marketing. ABC system allocates the resources to activities. Then, total product cost determined from activities cost traced to product as object costs based on suitable cost drivers.

Abstract

Ketidaktersediaan sarana di home industry Tarjo guitar sebagai pembuat gitar perlu mendapat perhatian dan perlu diperbaiki dalam meningkatkan produktivitas dan performansi kerja karyawan. Proses produksi dimulai dengan memproduksi gitar setengah jadi yang diamplas di stasiun pengamplasan, kemudian masuk proses pemasangan kawat tipis pada leher gitar pada stasiun shande dan diakhiri dengan stasiun finishing. Stasiun finishing terdiri atas proses pengecatan dasar, pemasangan stiker dan pengecatan melamin serta pemasangan glayer dan senar. Pada bagian pemasangan stiker, karyawan mengerjakan pada posisi duduk di lantai dengan kaki diluruskan ke depan tanpa menggunakan meja kursi atau sarana kerja yang lain dalam menyelesaikannya. Kondisi yang demikian dialami pekerja setiap hari yang berakibat menimbulkan rasa tidak nyaman bagi pekerja.Pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memperhatikan kebutuhan operator pemasang stiker gitar. Daftar kebutuhan operator yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dan analisis dengan postur kerja dengan metode RULA kemudian dikembangkan menjadi desain alat yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan anthropometri operator. Hasil penelitian ini adalah alat bantu pemasangan stiker gitar berupa meja dengan kotak press stiker yang dilengkapi dengan pencekam permanen dan pencekam portable untuk mencekam gitar dan ketinggian meja yang disesuaikan dengan anthropometri operator. Hasil rancangan mampu mengurangi keluhan dan menurunkan level resiko postur kerja ditunjukkan dengan penurunan skor akhir RULA dari 7 ke 3 yang berarti level resiko menjadi kecil dan tindakan diperlukan untuk beberapa waktu ke depan.

Abstract

Timber Legality Assurance System (TLAS) is a regulation which provided to prevent illegal logging. The system insists the furniture manufacturers have certification of timber used for their production. They must ensure that the raw materials (log) that used are legal and traceable. Timber Tracking’s services are designed by using ASP.NET Web Service Technology which uses SOAP protocol and WSDL interface so it can be used for multi platform system to system communication which using HTTP protocol. The database of Timber Tracking is designed by using Microsoft SQL Server DBMS which has fully compatibility with other applications that made by ASP.NET framework. Object oriented C# is needed to make the application for client side. The Web Service services has been integrated with Timber Tracking Application which based on desktop application, so it would be accessed easily, and it can be used to help maintain and manage the Timber Legality Verification System variables.

Abstract

This study aims to determine people’s behavior in using the energy from fuel oil to know the amount of premium as well as private consumption index in Surakarta. This research was conducted in four stages. The first stage is to determine the sample. In determining the research sample, the method used is the area sampling and purposive sampling. While the number of respondents is determine by the formula Taro Yamane of 400 respondents. The second phase of preparing the questionnaire, all variables, attributes, and questions adapted from the model of consumer behavior Kotler (1997). Abstract

PT.XYZ is a manufacturer of body bus which produce four type of bus that is big bus, medium bus, small bus, and mini bus. There is ten process to produce 1 unit big bus that is machine work, sub assembly, pra production, body assembly, metal finish, epoxy, putty, painting, trimming, and PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). Based on the check sheet data summary from January to August of 2013, most major defect are in the putty process and based on the observation and interviews, there is product defects that pass inspection and entry process of painting. So, this study aims to identify the root cause of the defect and the escape of product defect from inspection. Root Cause Analysis method are used to identify the root cause of this problem. Using Root Cause Analysis method, RCA diagram showed that the root causes of defects are SOP that cannot be applied, the color of paint (epoxy) is less clear for inspection, poor lighting, lack of machinery, the wages of workers, and porous of fiber, while the root cause of the escape of product defect from inspection are SOP that cannot be applied, the color of paint (epoxy) is less clear for inspection, poor lighting, lack of machinery, the wages of workers, and lack of quality standards.

Abstract

Dalam melakukan pekerjaan penjemuran daun tembakau rajangan, para pekerja menggunakan tampah penjemuran sebagai tempat meletakkan daun tembakau rajangan. Tampah penjemuran daun tembakau rajangan tersebut dilakukan dengan mengandalkan dari panas sinar matahari. Meja penjemur yang digunakan pekerja adalah sebuah bambu yang ditancapkan pada tanah untuk meletakkan tampah jemuran. Pekerja menjemur daun tembakau menggunakan peralatan seadanya tanpa memperhatikan peralatannya. Pada proses penjemuran pekerja mengangkat tampah jemuran secara berulang-ulang karena banyaknya daun tembakau yang harus dijemur, maka pekerja memakan waktu lebih lama untuk menunggu keringnya daun tembakau rajangan. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang timbul perlu adanya perancangan alat bantu tampah jemuran daun tembakau rajangan dengan mengakomodir keluhan dan kenyamanan para pekerja. Tahapan dalam perancangan alat bantu tampah jemuran daun tembakau rajangan terdiri dari identifikasi kebutuhan, pembangkitan gagasan (idea) atau alternatif, penentuan dimensi alat bantu tampah jemuran daun tembakau rajangan, pembuatan gambar alat bantu tampah jemuran daun tembakau rajangan. Output dari penelitian ini adalah didapatkannya rancangan alat bantu tampah jemuran daun tembakau rajangan yang mampu memberikan kenyamanan pekerja dengan pemberian engsel pada meja dan empat mata kancing pada kaki meja, empat mata kancing ini berfungsi sebagai pengatur kemiringan alat bantu tampah jemuran, sehingga pekerja dapat memiringkan meja kearah sinar matahari sesuai dengan kebutuhan pekerja. Dimensi ukuran alat bantu tampah jemuran juga sesuai dengan tubuh pekerja, karena perancangan alat bantu tampah jemuran menggunakan data anthropometri pekerja yang sudah di uji statistik terlebih dahulu. Hasil rancangan alat bantu tampah jemuran kemudian diujicobakan kepada pekerja penjemur daun tembakau rajangan mampu mengatasi keluhan lamanya proses penjemuran dan sesuai dengan tubuh para pekerja.

Abstract

Endoskeletal prosthetic foot that was developed at the knee joint by storing energy systems 2 bar mechanism. This technology is analogous to a spring that can be stretched and loosened, store and release elastic potential energy. Storing energy systems to facilitate the activity of normal or brisk walking. 2 bar mechanism consists of two links and a joint with joint function as a link 2 link. Storing energy in the system design of knee joint using a gas spring with the principle of increasing the pressure causes compression of nitrogen gas in the tube and the more energy saved. This study involves a transfemoral amputee object, male gender, age 49 years, height 164 cm, and weight 67.5 kg (without a prosthetic foot). Kadaba's experimental protocol using a protocol with a prosthetic foot on the right and left foot on the normal road speed 0.7 m/s - 1.4 m/s. Study the biomechanics of gait cycle analysis for a brisk walk, torque (Ï„), style (Fx, Fy) and external work (Ew). Knee joint with energy storing mechanism of 2 bar to perform flexion and extension movements, swinging his legs no longer require a large force. This system has been storing energy and energy release in shaping the pattern of walking to be balanced at the moment pre swing and mid swing.

Abstract

Inventories of raw materials are the company's current assets used for production activities at the company. Companies need to do the inventory control because it affects the smooth production process. A shortage can lead to disruption of the production process. While excess inventory can lead to waste because companies need to spend more capital for inventory costs. The purpose of this study to determine whether the PT. Djitoe Indonesia Tobacco has made raw material inventory control appropriately. Raw material inventory control methods used in this study are a min-max stock. This method determines the amount of safety stock, minimum stock, maximum stock and order quantity. After doing research, PT. Djitoe Indonesia Tobacco excess raw material inventory. Total inventories are controlled using the min-max stock produces more efficient results when compared to the amount of the final inventory of the company. With min-max method the company is able to economize IDR 700,000 for each period.
