Abstract

This research wants to know proprietary tasawuf thinking by Anregurtta H. Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle (called Ambo Dalle) in his book in Bugiss lingual version “al Qawl al shadiq li Ma ’ rifat al Khaliq / ada tongeng tongengnge ri annessana pappejeppue ri puang pancajie“. Thus, this research is bibliographical observational type (library research) one that gets character descriptive analysis. Anregurutta Abdurrahman Ambo Dalle is constitute ulamas figure that combine among knowledge syariat and tasawufs knowledge. Harmony who did by Anregurutta among knowledge syariat with reality knowledge is an effort for unbent tarekats concept or flow (tasawuf) one that amends, notably on Bugiss society who restrains from al Quran and hadits. That thing is looked while Anregurutta combine among bodily religious service and spritual religious service, one that religious service comes into the world is territorial temporary carnal job religious service, spritual is territorial heart job which is as recitation (remember) to God and that is core than religious service in Islamic. Such too its criticism to tasawufs teaching with concept ittihad and hulul,  which is a concept that teaches one to declare for self a slave until to its The Infinite upon remembers (recitation) and at that moment as one with God, therefore expression “العابد والمعبود واحد “ while Anregurutta Ambo Dalle is “ العابد واحد والمعبود واحد ”

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe the students’ competency of Muamalah study program of STAIN Samarinda who were conducting school internship program at three Syariah Banks in Samarinda. The banks are Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Bankaltim Syariah, and Bank Syariah Bukopin. The competency, here, are basic competency, managerial competency, and operational/technical competency. This is a descriptive research design. The result of the study shows that the students’ competency of Muamalah study program of STAIN Samarinda is 7.85% or it is classified as “Good”. The overall findings are: basic competency is 77,27% (Good), operational competency is 69,55% (Good), and managerial competency is 68,73% (Fair). There are 2 of 28 indicators which have the highest score, they are moral integrity and the understanding of the concept of syariah economy; the score is 83.64% for each category which is classified as “Very Good”. Meanwhile, there three aspects which have the lowest score, they are: presentation skill, human relations, and carefulness to the jobs. The score is 56.36% for each category which is classified as “Fair”.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out the implementation of multiculturalism of the Islamic values and how to develop the multiculturalism of the Islamic values at SMA 5 Samarinda. The result of data findings shows that the implementation of multiculturalism of the Islamic values at SMA 5 Samarinda covers some following sectors, they are: 1) the implementation of asma’ul husna values, 2) love other moslems, 3) strong attitude, 4) never give up, 5) religious values action, 6) appreciating others, 7) caring, 8) sharing to others, 9) democratic, 10) khalifah concept, and 11) tolerance to other religion. In terms of how to develop of the multiculturalism of the Islamic values at SMA 5 Samarinda, it was found that the result of mean score of the questionnaire was 2.86 or it is categorized “Very Good”. To sum up, the development of the multiculturalism of the Islamic values at SMA 5 Samarinda can be categorized as a Very Good.

Abstract

Pesantren (boarding school) in Indonesia educational system proofs a significant contribution. They participate in enhancing teaching and learning and extending the processes of acquiring knowledge with the spirit of Islam. These activities spread out through the nation-wide, include some part of Papua island. Therefore, it is a need to explore the practice of Islamic education, expecially muslim minority. In addition, the religious based institution will have less culture support and different environment from other majority. A qualitative approach was employed to conduct this research. In-depth inteview and non-participant observation were implemented during data collection. There are four pesantrens were observed, they are Pesantren Nurul Yaqin, Pesantren Roudhotul Khuffadz, Pesantren Minhajut Tholibin, and Pesantren Hidayatullah. All the site are located in Sorong regency. Research findings shows that in elaborating learning process in pesantren to accelerate students’ skill is impelementation of entrepeneurship. After school duration, extracurriculer is running to maintain the learning outside classroom. The students still have opportunity to learn not only in the classroom but also they will participate in the real space. The extension of classroom to the field is an effort to relate theoretical attainment to skills development. Those institutions executed this kind of program due to limited time in practice for subject matter on time allocation. Finally, pesantren is not solely the place to learn religion. Management board tried to encourage students in participating the entrpreneurship based various activities to complement students’ skills after graduating from the Islamic school.

Abstract

The background of this study is the existence of various etnics, tribes, and culture in Indonesia. The diversity becomes social power to develop the nation. The conflicts, happened in some places in Indonesia, are the pictures how diversity could create violenceand and lost. That is why, the multiculturalism education is important to be developed. STAIN Samarinda, which is the only one Islamic higher education in Kalimantan Timur, also concerns to this issue. This study shows that the implemetation of multiculturalism education at STAIN Samarinda running well. STAIN Samarinda implements the multiculturalism education by: (a) making MoU with some social institutions, social groups, banks, and others. (b) considering gender; there is no gender discrimination at STAIN Samarinda. (c) making students’ center activities, such as: BEM, UKM band, UKM teater iqra’, KSR, boy-scouts, and others. In terms of the strategy in enriching multiculturalism values, STAIN Samarinda put this subject into the process of learning at STAIN Samarinda.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine further the commentary of economy passages Quraish Shihab’s work and the thoughts position of Quraish Shihab among other Islamic economic thoughts. This study outlines two theories, namely, (1) theory of economic study; and (2) paradigms and methods of interpretation. Based on the paradigms and methods of interpretation in a social science, economic passage commentary conducted by Quraish Shihab using maudhu’I method is categorized in the social definition paradigm that means contextual and functional commentary. Generally, Islamic economic thoughts of Quraish Shihab belongs to the Islamic economic study in the normative scope which means to the efforts to explain basic philosophy or normative of an economic study which is based on the Islamic guidance referring to the standard guidelines of Qur’an and Hadith. However, in a certain aspect, Quraish Shihab’s thoughts is different from that of mainstream Islamic economic thoughts particularly related to the interpretation of usury which is related to the interest. Quraish Shihab is inclined to think that interest is not the same as usury. However, Quraish Shihab has almost the same thoughts as the mainstream Islamic economic thoughts in terms of Islam and development issues, poverty, alms and alms amyl.

Abstract

This study was conducted to show students’ TOEFL score, fifth semester  of English Department of State Islamic Institute of Samarinda. The research used descriptive design by quantitative approach. The sample is 35 students of English department. The research instrument used a package of TOEFL test. Descriptive statistics was used as data analysis technique, mean and percentage. The result of this research showed that students got problems in acquiring a TOEFL score with an average score 397 which was still at the basic proficiency category (elementary). The researcher found that the highest paroblem faced by the students is listening section where students got correct answers only 24.8%. The students got the lowest score is in the short dialogue with the percentage 32.47%. Then the structure and written expression, students got average score lowest in the aspect of structure (completion) with a percentage 32.60%. From all parts of the TOEFL test, none of the students got average score more than 50%.

Abstract

This is a field research which aimed at describing the level of pedagogic competency of Arabic teachers at Madrasah Aliyah in Samarinda. The sample of this research are 8 Arabic teachers from 5 madrasah both state and private madrasah. The data collection techniques used observation, interview, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Miles and Hubberman. The findings of study show there are three indicators to measure the level of pedagogic competency; self perception, vice headmaster of curriculum’s perception, and students’ perception. In the level of self perception, it was found that the teachers’ pedagogic competency is 3.8; it indicated the category ”Good”. In the level of vice headmaster of curriculum’s perception, it was found that the teachers’ pedagogic competency is 3.9; it indicated the category ”Good”. In the level of the students’ perception, it was found that the teachers’ pedagogic competency is 4.1; it indicated the category ”Good”.

Abstract

The epistemology paradigm of Islamic thoughts is developed from one era to another. This paper tries to reveal the modern Islamic thoughts proposed by Jamaluddin Al-Afghani in reconstructing the understanding of qadha and qadar (takdir) from fatalistic and statis thoughts into dynamic thoughts. The meaning of fana and baqa in sufism, according to Al-Afghani’s thought, is real. The faith does not mean avoiding the needs of real life, but it should empower the social welfare and improve the social life. Al-Afghani states that the confession of the faith (qadha and qadar) is one of the basic elements in theology which cannot be avoided, yet it should be understood correctly and positively to reach the happiness in this world and the life after death.

Abstract

Ethics is about behavior of human being, such as which one is right or wrong. The ethics is always affecting the human life. The ethics gives people orientation how he/she do manything every time every day. Islamic ethics consists of the way how someone interact each other; how someone should do or not to do, how to sit, how to walk, how to eat or drink, how to sleep, or how to get dressed. Al-Qur’an uses three terms to define about dressing, they are: libas, tsiyah, and sarahi. Dressing has a function as covering the body, as assessoris, as the way to do Islamic taqwa, and as an identiy. Dressing ethics of the female students of STAIN Samarinda has been regulated by the rector regulation No 19 of the year 2002 about relation and dressing ethics for the students of STAIN Samarinda.
