Abstract

This research  aims to determine the effect of the application of the Case Based Learning model with Augmented Reality Media on creative thinking skills and learning outcomes on human immune system material of grade XI students at SMA Negeri 8 Samarinda. The type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a research design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 50 students.  Data analysis techniques using descriptive data analysis, N-Gain test and Independent sample t-test. The results of data analysis showed that the percentage of creative thinking skills measured based on indicators in the experimental class was 70% in the high category and 56% control class in the moderate category. The N-Gain test of learning outcomes obtained is in the experimental class 0.4 medium category and the control class is 0.31 medium category. The hypothesis results show a significance of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on the application of the Case Based Learning model assisted by Augmented Reality Media on the creative thinking ability and learning outcomes of class XI students at SMA Negeri 8 Samarinda.

Abstract

This study aims to describe a disaster mitigation lecture strategy based on the Citizen Science Project (CSP) through a combination of indoor and outdoor learning methods. The study employs an action research approach by implementing a lecture strategy consisting of four phases: BuPAcE (Building Community, Project Expedition, Action, and Evaluate). This study involved 22 fifth-semester students from the Science Education Study Program in the 2023-2024 academic year. The Building Community, Action, and Evaluate phases are conducted using indoor learning methods, while the Project Expedition phase is carried out using outdoor methods. The implementation of the BuPAcE strategy is evaluated using observation sheets. The results indicate that the implementation percentage of the disaster mitigation lecture strategy based on CSP is 80% for the Building Community phase, 70% for the Project Expedition phase, 80% for the Action phase, and 75% for the Evaluate phase. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the disaster mitigation lecture strategy using a combination of indoor and outdoor methods is effective for use in lectures.

Abstract

This study aims to design a CUPs-SSI learning model that meets the criteria of valid, practical, and effective in improving students' understanding of chemical concepts. The resulting learning model is a cooperative learning model oriented to the application of social science issues in education. The type of research is R&D (research and development), with the design of the Plom development model. Data collection techniques use tests and non-tests. After going through the design, realization of design, and validation stages, the CUPs-SSI (conceptual understanding procedures oriented to socio scientific issues) learning model was produced which has six syntax or stages of learning, namely investigation, exploration, hypothesis, verification, presentation, and generalization. Other components of the CUPs-SSI learning model consist of social systems, reaction principles, support systems, instructional impacts, and herding impacts. The results of the limited trial of the conceptual understanding test of students after learning with the CUPs-SSI model, were in the good category with an average percentage of 85.11%. Thus, theoretically, this research shows that the CUPs-SSI model, can improve students conceptual understanding. Practically, the research results show that the CUPs-SSI model is suitable for use as an alternative learning model, especially for science material.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Society 5.0 demands students to possess strong problem-solving skills, encompassing systematic thinking, data analysis, and decision-making. However, preliminary studies reveal that students’ problem-solving abilities are generally low, necessitating innovative educational tools. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an e-module based on Toulmin's Argumentation Model to enhance problem-solving skills among science students. Using a one-group pretest-posttest experimental design, the research involved 60 students from three science classes. The e-module was validated by experts in content, educational innovation, and technology, achieving an average validation score of 87.5%. The module was implemented across all classes, and significant improvements in problem-solving skills were observed, with an overall N-Gain score of 0.46, categorized as medium. These results indicate that the e-module is a valid, practical, and effective learning resource for improving problem-solving skills in science education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 6 Makassar dan (2) deskripsi keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 6 Makassar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII di UPT SPF SMP Negeri 6 Makassar sebanyak 428 peserta didik yang tersebar di 11 kelas. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling dari seluruh populasi menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan taraf kesalahan 5%. Jumlah sampel yang terpilih sebanyak 209 peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir pada materi pokok usaha, energi dan pesawat sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa: 1) tingkat keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 6 Makassar berada pada kategori cukup dengan skor rata-rata sebesar 11,79; dan (2) deskripsi pencapaian tiap aspek keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 6 Makassar pada aspek 1) memberikan penjelasan sederhana mencapai 72,96% (tinggi), 2) membangun keterampilan dasar mencapai 56,81% (cukup), 3) menyimpulkan mencapai 50,71% (cukup), 4) memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut mencapai 57,77% (cukup), dan 5) mengatur strategi dan taktik mencapai 56,69% (cukup).

Abstract

This research aims to develop open media in a booklet on diversity of ferns in Taman Wisata Pulau Kumayan Bengkulu City for class X SMA. This is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall model which is limited to stage 5, namely stage (1) Research and initial information gathering, (2) Planning, (3) Initial product development, (4) Initial Field Trials Stage, and (5) Main Product Revision Phase. Sampling of ferns using the exploration method was carried out at the Taman Wisata Pulau Kumayan Bengkulu Bengkulu City. The booklet suitability test was carried out by material expert validators, media experts and practitioner experts (teachers), and the readability test was carried out by 30 class X students at SMAN 8 Bengkulu City. The results show types of ferns found in Taman Wisata Pulau Kumayan Bengkulu City numbered 10 families, with 15 types. The Eligibility Booklet received very appropriate criteria with a validation percentage of material experts 95.8%, media experts 87.5% and practitioner experts 93.75%. The percentage of students' readability tests on the booklet s developed received very good criteria by obtaining a score based on the presentation aspect of 98%, material 92%, and benefits 95% in the decent category.

Abstract

The research aims to determine: 1) The level of student learning outcomes before and after implementation the guided inquiry learning model assisted by animation media and assisted by PPT media, 2) The improvement in student learning outcomes using guided inquiry learning models assisted by animation media and assisted by PPT media, 3) The effect of guided inquiry learning model assisted by animation media toward student learning outcomes. Type of research is Quasi Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group design. The population was class VIII MTs YAPIT Malakaji. The sample was selected by purposive sampling. The instrument is 20 questions of learning outcomes test. Data analysis using descriptive and inferential analysis. The results showed: 1) The learning outcomes of students before implementation the guided inquiry learning model assisted by animation media were in the very low category with a score of 4.36, after which they were in the medium category with a score of 12.21, and  assisted by PPT media were in the low category with a score of 5.07, after which they were in the low category with a score of 8.89. 2) Improvement of student learning outcomes using guided inquiry learning model assisted by animation media with N-Gain 0.50 medium category, assisted by PPT media with N-Gain 0.24 low category. 3) There is an effect of guided inquiry learning model assisted by animation media on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

Science learning cannot only be taught in the form of concepts or theories but there needs to be practical activities in the learning process so that learning objectives can be achieved completely and comprehensively. Good science laboratory management will support the success of science learning in schools. Seeing the importance of science laboratories as a support in teaching and learning activities to achieve the expected competencies for students, science laboratories in schools need to be managed properly so that the use of science laboratory tools and functions can be achieved effectively and efficiently. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Anjir Muara with a type of research using a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it is known that of the four functions of laboratory management, namely planning, organizing, implementation, and controlling in general, they run well even though of the four functions there are two laboratory management functions that are not optimal due to limited human resources available at the school. Limited skilled human resources are one of the main obstacles in optimizing laboratory functions. Therefore, there needs to be a training program and development of teacher competencies in laboratory management, operation of practical equipment, and management of consumables.

Abstract

Blogspot in this literature study is a type of online learning hybrid used as an online learning instrument. This literature review allowed the researcher to review previous studies on the use of technology in education, particularly Blogspot. The use of blogspot had a positive impact on student engagement and facilitated a deeper understanding of concepts. The stages carried out in this research are Problem Identification and Research Objectives, Literature Data Collection, Literature Data Analysis, Synthesis of Findings and Reporting of Research Results. Based on the results of the literature study, blogspot is proven to be effective in supporting flexible learning, especially in collaborative activities, writing, and project-based learning. Its features allow students to access materials easily and engage in online discussions. Despite several advantages, there are significant constraints in using Blogspot. One major challenge is Blogspot’s limited class management and evaluation features compared to other Learning Management Systems (LMS). Actionable recommendations from the findings are to combine Blogspot with LMS platforms for a better learning experience and provide targeted digital literacy training. With these recommendations, educators and institutions can consider Blogspot for online learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) oriented project (SOLE- Project Model) in improving students' HOTS. The type of research is pre-experimental design with a research design of one-group pretest-posttest. The population in this study was all students of class XI IPA 4 of SMA Negeri 2 Bone and the sampling technique was simple purposive technique. The data collected is in the form of students' HOTS ability test results. The test used is in the form of essay questions to measure students' HOTS. HOTS indicators that are assessed are the ability to analyze, evaluate, create, think critically and solve problems. The results of the study based on the Paired sample T test obtained sig is 0.000, it can be concluded that the SOLE-Project learning model is effective to improve students' HOTS. Students who are trained to think using HOTS will have a positive impact on their educational development.
