Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of students and educators as well as the form of cellphone use in learning mathematics in the Merdeka Curriculum at SMPN 29 Medan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of five students in class VIII-6 and one mathematics educator. The results showed that the majority of students and educators had a positive perception of the use of cellphones as learning aids. Mobile phones are considered capable of improving concept understanding, especially in congruent materials, through the use of applications such as GeoGebra and learning videos. In addition, students also use mobile phones to access Google Forms, search for additional information, and learn independently according to the principle of differentiation in the Merdeka Curriculum. However, there are also some obstacles such as concentration disorders due to uncontrolled use. Therefore, the role of educators is very important in providing direction and supervision so that cellphone utilization remains focused on learning objectives. These findings reinforce the importance of wise and purposeful integration of digital technology in mathematics learning in the Independent Curriculum era. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi peserta didik dan pendidik serta bentuk penggunaan handphone dalam pembelajaran matematika pada Kurikulum Merdeka di SMPN 29 Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari lima peserta didik kelas VIII-6 dan satu orang pendidik matematika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta didik dan pendidik memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan handphone sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran. Handphone dianggap mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, terutama dalam materi kongruen, melalui penggunaan aplikasi seperti GeoGebra dan video pembelajaran. Selain itu, peserta didik juga memanfaatkan handphone untuk mengakses Google Form, mencari informasi tambahan, dan belajar secara mandiri sesuai prinsip diferensiasi dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Namun, ditemukan pula beberapa kendala seperti gangguan konsentrasi akibat penggunaan yang tidak terkontrol. Oleh karena itu, peran pendidik sangat penting dalam memberikan arahan dan pengawasan agar pemanfaatan handphone tetap terfokus pada tujuan pembelajaran. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya integrasi teknologi digital secara bijak dan terarah dalam pembelajaran matematika di era Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang tradisi pembacaan Surat Yasin dalam ritual Rabu Pungkasan sebagai bentuk living Qur’an pada masyarakat Suko Awin Jaya Kecamatan Sekernan Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. Tradisi ini merupakan praktik keagamaan yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun dan masih dijalankan hingga kini sebagai upaya spiritual untuk menolak bala, memohon keselamatan, serta mempererat hubungan sosial antarwarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi pembacaan Surat Yasin dalam Rabu Pungkasan tidak hanya memiliki makna religius, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai media penguatan nilai-nilai sosial, solidaritas, dan kearifan lokal masyarakat. Dalam konteks living Qur’an, tradisi ini memperlihatkan bagaimana Al-Qur’an dihayati, dimaknai, dan diimplementasikan secara nyata dalam kehidupan sosial budaya masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematics approach on student learning outcomes and to determine whether students' mathematics learning outcomes who are given a realistic mathematics approach achieve the minimum completeness criteria, namely 75. Learning outcomes are defined as a measure of students’ success in mastering school subject, expressed in scores obtained from test results. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal in the 2025/2026 academic year using a quasi-experimental method with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample was class VIII-1 as the experimental class, and class VIII-2 as the control class. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class, with an average pretest score of 39.37 and a posttest score of 79.58, in the control class the average pretest score was 40.83 and a posttest score of 72.91. Based on the results of data analysis using a one-way t-test on the difference between the two means, it is known that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the Realistic Mathematics Approach and conventional learning. The mathematical learning outcomes of students taught using the Realistic Mathematics Approach are better than those taught using conventional learning. The results of this study show that the percentage of classical graduation of students who achieved a minimum completeness criterion score of 75 who were treated with the Realistic Mathematics Approach was 80% and the percentage of classical graduation of students who achieved a minimum completeness criterion score of 75 who were treated with conventional learning was 53.3%. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan matematika realistik terhadap hasil belajar siswa dan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diberi pendekatan matematika realistik mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal yakni 75. Hasil belajar adalah ukuran tingkat keberhasilan siswa dalam mempelajari materi pembelajaran di sekolah yang dinyatakan dalam skor yang diperoleh dari hasil tes. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026 dengan metode quasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitiannya adalah kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen, dengan rata-rata skor pretest  39,37 dan skor posttes 79,58, pada kelas kontrol  rata-rata skor pretest 40,83 dan posttest 72,91. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t satu arah terhadap perbedaan dua rata-rata, diketahui bahwa hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikansi antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik dengan pembelajaran biasa. Hasil belajar matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan persentase kelulusan klasikal siswa yang mencapai nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal 75 yang diberi perlakuan dengan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik  adalah sebesar 80% dan persentase kelulusan klasikal siswa yang mencapai nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal  yang diberi perlakuan dengan pembelajaran biasa adalah sebesar 53,3%.

Abstract

   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan kurikulum berbasis sains sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa pada jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Fokus kajian diarahkan pada analisis penerapan pendekatan saintifik dalam proses pembelajaran serta relevansinya dengan peningkatan keaktifan, rasa ingin tahu, dan motivasi intrinsik siswa. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif dengan memanfaatkan data dari hasil wawancara dengan guru IPA, pengamatan langsung terhadap perangkat kurikulum, dan telaah dokumen kebijakan pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum yang dirancang dengan mengedepankan pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen, inkuiri, dan pemecahan masalah mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menantang serta menyenangkan. Selain itu, keterlibatan siswa secara langsung dalam proses penemuan konsep terbukti mendorong partisipasi aktif dan meningkatkan ketertarikan terhadap materi pelajaran. Artikel ini merekomendasikan penguatan kurikulum berbasis sains melalui pelatihan guru, penyediaan sarana eksperimen sederhana, serta integrasi sains dengan konteks kehidupan sehari-hari siswa.     Abstract This study aims to describe the development of a science-based curriculum as a strategy to enhance students’ learning interest at the primary and secondary education levels. The analysis focuses on the implementation of scientific approaches in classroom instruction and their relevance to increasing student engagement, curiosity, and intrinsic motivation. A descriptive method was employed using data obtained from interviews with science teachers, observations of curriculum documents, and analysis of educational policies. The findings reveal that curricula designed with experimental, inquiry-based, and problem-solving learning models are more effective in creating challenging yet enjoyable learning environments. Furthermore, students’ direct involvement in the discovery process significantly improves their participation and interest in academic content. This article recommends strengthening science-based curricula through teacher capacity-building, provision of simple experimental tools, and integration of scientific concepts into students’ daily life contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the daily Salat Dhuha routine before classroom activities and its impact on the development of students’ religious character at SD Negeri 215 Bengkulu Utara. The academic concern driving this research lies in the limited exploration of routine worship practices as a character-building strategy within public elementary schools. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved teachers, the principal, and students as key informants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, display, and verification. The findings reveal that the Salat Dhuha routine strengthens discipline, enhances worship consistency, fosters emotional calmness, and cultivates responsibility, all of which are reflected in students’ behaviors during the learning process. Teachers’ exemplary conduct, supportive school culture, and established habituation programs further contribute to the effectiveness of the initiative. Despite its strengths, the program faces challenges including students’ varying developmental levels, limited facilities, and the need for continuous teacher development. These findings highlight the importance of integrating religious practices into daily learning structures as a sustainable strategy for nurturing students’ spiritual and behavioral growth.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas V SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Solving. Latar belakang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa masih rendah, dengan 13 dari 19 siswa (68%) belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) 70. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang masih berpusat pada guru dan kurangnya penerapan langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Pada Siklus I, persentase ketuntasan individu mencapai 33%, dan meningkat menjadi 68% pada Siklus II, melampaui target ketuntasan klasikal 60%. Peningkatan ini terlihat pada setiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah, yaitu kemampuan memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kebenaran jawaban. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Problem Solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Abstract This study aimed to enhance the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fifth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 019 Bangkinang Kota by implementing a Problem Solving learning model. The research was motivated by the students' low mathematical problem-solving skills, with 13 out of 19 students (68%) failing to achieve the minimum mastery criterion of 70. This deficiency was attributed to a teacher-centered learning approach and insufficient application of problem-solving strategies. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, the study was conducted over two cycles. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. In Cycle I, the individual mastery percentage was 33%, which increased to 68% in Cycle II, thereby surpassing the classical mastery target of 60%. This improvement was evident across all indicators of problem-solving ability, including understanding the problem, devising a plan, executing the plan, and verifying the solution. Consequently, the Problem Solving learning model proved effective in fostering students' mathematical problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memecahkan permasalahan yang terjadi di sekolah dasar. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi, khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPS. Hal ini dikarenakan guru hanya menggunakan media gambar dari buku, hal ini membuat siswa bosan dan tidak fokus pada pelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model ADIIE dalam tahap pengembangannya. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 4 di MI Al-Hikmah dan MI Mamba'ul Ulum, pada mata pelajaran IPS. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah modul ajar dengan metode TGT, angket validator ahli, dan angket kemenarikan media pembelajaran. Penelitian pengembangan ini divalidasi oleh ahli media, ahli bahasa, dan ahli materi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor ahli materi sebesar 97,5% dengan kriteria sangat layak, ahli media 92,5% dengan kriteria sangat layak, dan ahli bahasa 93,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Hasil angket kemenarikan media meliputi uji coba perorangan dengan nilai 94,1% dengan kriteria sangat menarik, uji coba kelompok kecil dengan nilai 95,5% dengan kriteria sangat menarik, dan uji coba kelompok besar dengan nilai 97,7% dengan kriteria sangat menarik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media board game berbasis permainan egrang batok memenuhi persyaratan dan menarik untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Media Board game ini juga terbukti efektif diajarkan melalui metode TGT.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation of Interactive English Teaching Methods in elementary schools in Sidoarjo, the types of interactive methods used by teachers, and the challenges in applying these methods. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving classroom observations and interviews as the primary data collection methods, supported by secondary data from books, journals, articles, and other references. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s framework, including data reduction, data display, triangulation, and drawing conclusions. The findings revealed that teachers applied various interactive teaching methods, including role-playing, project-based learning, storytelling, games, Total Physical Response (TPR), discussions, presentations, and demonstrations. These methods aimed to enhance students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while fostering engagement, collaboration, and confidence in using English. However, teachers faced several challenges in implementing interactive methods. These included limited time allocation, students’ low confidence and lack of vocabulary, uncooperative behavior during group activities, difficulties in teaching certain materials using TPR, and student boredom. The study concludes that interactive teaching methods can create an engaging and effective learning environment for elementary English learners, but successful implementation requires careful planning, classroom management, and strategies to overcome both student- and system-related challenges.

Abstract

This study explores the relevance of KH. Imam Zarkasyi’s educational thought in the development of Islamic education at Al Azhar Center Baturaja. As a reformer and founder of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor, Zarkasyi introduced an integrative model that harmonized religious values with intellectual advancement. His educational philosophy emphasizes the formation of insan kamil complete human beings who balance spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social dimensions. Using a qualitative descriptive field research approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to analyze how Zarkasyi’s ideas are contextualized in Al Azhar Center’s educational practices. The findings reveal that Zarkasyi’s principles sincerity, simplicity, self-reliance, discipline, and responsibility are deeply embedded in the institution’s curriculum, management, and learning culture. Education at Al Azhar Center Baturaja not only focuses on academic achievement but also cultivates moral integrity and social responsibility through daily habituation and character formation. The integration of religious and general sciences, supported by modern pedagogical methods, reflects Zarkasyi’s vision of education as a transformative process that prepares students to contribute meaningfully to society. Abstract

This study examines Azyumardi Azra’s thought on the Islamization of the Malay world and its relevance to contemporary Islamic education. The focus of the analysis includes the process of Islamization facilitated through transnational scholarly networks, as well as the application of the concepts of moderation, cosmopolitanism, and the integration of knowledge within educational practice. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes Azra’s works alongside relevant literature on Malay Islamic history, scholarly networks, moderation, and the reform of Islamic education. The findings indicate that the Islamization of the Malay world unfolded dynamically through intellectual exchange and the accommodation of local cultures, ultimately shaping a tradition of Islam that is moderate, inclusive, and cosmopolitan. Azra’s ideas provide a significant foundation for the development of Islamic education curricula that emphasize moral values, tolerance, and global literacy, while simultaneously strengthening a contextualized and culturally grounded Islamic identity
