Abstract

The Procurement of Public Green Open Space (RTH) in DKI Jakarta Province is carried out by the DKI Jakarta Forestry Service based on the land status of the BPN. The procurement of green open space is passive based on requests from the community. The DKI Jakarta Forestry Service data shows West Jakarta's public green open space has only fulfilled 8.8%. This study aims to assist stakeholders in the procurement of green open space in terms of ease of procurement. The ease aspect is compiled from land-use parameters, BPN land status, spatial pattern zoning, SIPPT, RTH Assets, and raw rice fields. The analysis results show that many areas included in the green zoning in West Jakarta have turned the function of land into built-up land, making it difficult for the local government to acquire land. This research found alternative lands with existing non-built land use conditions and clear land status and potential spatial pattern zoning targeted as green open space land acquisition targets. The analysis results show that from 4071 plots of land, there are 784 plots of land that are very potential with 179 ha. For potential land, there are 3234 plots of land with an area of 301 Ha and 53 plots of land classified as standard with an area of 2.4 Ha. Land with great potential can be used as a procurement priority for the relevant local government in the procurement of green open space in terms of the ease of procurement aspect. Keywords: Green Open Space, GIS, Green Open Space Potential

Abstract

In implementing the 2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), gender equality is fundamental to realizing the promises of sustainability, peace, and human progress. In 2020, females made up 49.42% of Indonesia's total population, while at the same time, Indonesia's score on the Gender Development Index was lower than the world's average GDI score. This study aims to analyze the effect of gender equality on economic growth in Indonesia in 2010-2019. In this study, a descriptive quantitative analysis approach was used, with the research object being the 33 provinces of Indonesia. The model used in this study is a multiple regression equation made to handle panel data. The results showed that Women's Life Expectancy had a negative and significant effect on economic growth. In contrast, Women's Average Length of Schooling has a negative and significant effect on economic growth. The study results revealed that improving the quality of women's human resources as measured by education and health and participation rates is a necessary but not sufficient factor in driving overall economic growth. It needs to be accompanied by proper policies that favor women regarding good job opportunities, a safe work environment, and decent wagesKeywords: Gender, Growth, Life Expectancy, Mean Years of Schooling.

Abstract

Among various issues on regional development planning in Indonesia, the vast coverage area and its regional diversity become one of main challenges. Regionalization is one of spatial techniques that can be used to facilitate regional development planning process. This study aims to analyze regionalization of Indonesia with a focus on Java Island by highlighting the main contemporary issues including poverty, COVID-19 pandemic, and gender. This paper draws the conditions of poverty, the cases of the COVID-19 pandemic and the needs of gender-based development in 119 regencies/cities on the island of Java using spatial distribution analysis. The results of the analysis show that the distribution of the percentage of the poor and the poverty line in Java forms a clustered pattern. This also happened in the case of COVID-19 where the high concentration of cases was around DKI Jakarta and DI Yogyakarta. As for the gender aspect, there is a tendency for a scattered pattern for the value of the gender development index, although there are some areas with high values (H-H quadrant) and low values (L-L quadrant). In general, the use of regional analysis may facilitate the identification of spatial phenomena, their distribution and the patterns formed, therefore it can be used for determining suitable regional policies. Keywords: Java Island, Regionalization, Poverty, COVID-19 Pandemic, Gender

Abstract

Agriculture plays an essential role in national economic development. This fact made agricultural land one of the main unique production factors irreplaceable due to its importance in the agricultural business processes. However, a persistent problem of arable land conversion and land degradation have become more massive throughout the years. Meanwhile, the continuation of existing agricultural land and transformation into new agricultural land is inherently small. This research aimed to map agricultural land in sustainable agricultural development. Several transformative vegetation indices: NDVI, SAVI, and TSAVI, applied SPOT 6/7 satellite imagery in Lampung Province. Results show that the TSAVI value is the highest, with a 1.80 value, which indicates that this index value is very dense vegetation. Meanwhile, the NDVI index, which has a minimum value of -1.02, suggests that this index value is a non-vegetation object. However, high or low value does not indicate the rigorousness and Accuracy of an index. All three indices’ results are then overlaid with the satellite imagery classification process result. The accuracy result shows that the agricultural land has a maximum of 100% producer accuracy while the user accuracy value is 87.87%. Overall, for NDVI, the Accuracy was valued at 90.25%, which could be classified as a reasonable classification result. SAVI has a PA value of 97.85%, UA 85.20% and OA 86.63%, while the TSAVI Index has a PA value of 98.23%, UA 86.16% and OA 87.63%. This accuracy value indicates that the map has good results but judging from the magnitude of the highest accuracy value obtained from NDVI, it can be concluded that NDVI is the best index to determine paddy fieldsKeywords: Agricultural Land, SPOT 6/7, NDVI, SAVI, TSAVI.

Abstract

Kendal Regency has developed into one of the Special Economic Zones. The development is to become one of the new industrial areas to improve the economy of the community and the region. This is undoubtedly related to the hope of increasing employment so that it is also able to increase employment and improve the economy of the community and the region. However, the availability of labor is still dominated by elementary school graduates/equivalent, and the impact of industrial development on the regional economy has not been seen significantly. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between industrial growth and employment based on the last education completed, the relationship between industrial growth and industrial GRDP growth, and strategies that can be taken to maximize employment. This study uses secondary data collected from the BPS, namely Kendal Regency in Figures and Central Java Province, and related regional regulations. The primary data available is insufficient for data needs requiring time-series data. This study uses a quantitative method with the Kendalls'tau b correlation test and multiple correlation test analysis methods. It uses the calculation of the elasticity of labor and the projection of labor absorption. The result is that 1) there is a relationship between industrial growth and employment based on the last education completed, 2) there is no relationship between industrial growth and GRDP growth in the industrial sector, and 3) the strategy that can be done to maximize employment is to improve quality human resources and promote industrial growth. Keywords: employment, education, GRDP, industry

Abstract

Identifying hotspots as a potential for wildfires due to weather/climate factors needs to be studied in more detail to consider the policies taken by relevant agencies in the Nagan Raya Regency, mainly consisting of peatlands. Rainfall observation data in some areas are incomplete, so alternative data are needed for rainfall estimation for those areas, such as satellite data. However, the satellite data does not necessarily match the conditions in the field, so validation is needed. In this study, satellite data were validated with available observational data in the area, so the results can be used as a reference when field data is unavailable. The data used are GSMaP_GNRT6 and observation data from 5 rainfall observation posts: Beutong, Cut Nyak Dien Meteorological Station, Darul Makmur, PT. Socfindo and Pulo Ie for the period 2010-2019. The satellite and the observation data were correlated with the Pearson method to see the relationship between the two data. The difference between each satellite data and observations at the same time and place is calculated using the formulas Mean Error (ME), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE). Furthermore, a case study of fire incidents and satellite hotspot data at several locations was also observed simultaneously. In addition, the validated rainfall data were also used to calculate the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) value. The result shows the validation of rainfall data with GSMaP_GNRT6 satellite data has a moderate correlation with the MAE value ranging from 101.3 to 195.12 from the five rainfall observation posts. The results also show that a 10-day base of rainfall before the occurrence of the wildfires was in a low category (86%). The number of hotspot occurrences was also supported by the negative monthly SPI value, high air temperature, and the type of land in the study area. Keywords: Hotspot, Rainfall, Air Temperature, Wildfires, Peat Lands

Abstract

Floods are the most common natural disaster in Indonesia, with high intensity than any other natural disaster. A flood is a condition where an area is inundated due to an overflow of water that exceeds the water disposal capacity in a room, resulting in physical, social, and economic losses. The Serang watershed (DAS) belongs in the Priority I (critical) watershed condition, so it is necessary to determine flood-prone areas in future management. Sentinel 1 Remote Sensing Image (SAR) can record at any time, day or night, and in all weather conditions, making it suitable for flood analysis. This study aimed to determine the ability of Sentinel 1 Image (SAR) in determining the inundation flood area in Serang watershed, Kulonprogo Regency, Indonesia. The method used was the Otsu algorithm with threshold determination by measuring and evaluating the variance between classes of a threshold at a certain level calculated from the normalized histogram of the image. Floods in the Serang watershed, Kulonprogo Regency, mainly occur in agricultural areas. The ability of Sentinel images to obtain land surface data in all conditions can be used for flood analysis where passive sensor images cannot record it. In addition, the withdrawal of inundation areas on Sentinel 1 imagery using the Otsu algorithm can determine a threshold to separate inundated and unflooded areas with a confusion matrix of 77%.Keywords: Flood, Sentinel 1 (SAR), Otsu Algorithm

Abstract

This study aims to see; changes in the use of agricultural land (rice fields), population growth, the carrying capacity of lowland rice agricultural land to meet the food needs of the population, and projecting food needs (rice) for the residents of Padang City from 2020 to 2025 as well as analyzing the level of food sufficiency (rice) based on land change patterns agriculture, then see how the growth rate of food production and population growth rate in the city of Padang. The research method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Spatial data is processed by Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and demographic formulas process population data. The land's carrying capacity is obtained from the comparison between available land, production, and population. The results of this study indicate the shrinkage of the agricultural land area of 100.86 ha/year. The most extensive agricultural land depreciation range occurred from 2010 to 2011. The population growth ratio of Padang City between 2000-2010 was successfully reduced to 1.57 per year, with a population increase of 112,779 people or 15.64%. The population growth of Padang City is in the range of 1.57 and is not supported by the growth of lowland rice production. In 2025, the city of Padang is still classified as a class III region (σ < 1) or an area that has not been able to meet its own food needs (self-sufficiency). Land shrinkage and a decrease in harvested area and productivity have caused the carrying capacity of paddy fields in Padang City to continue to decline. Keywords: Sufficiency, Rice Production, Population Needs

Abstract

This study analyses the sociopreneurship empowerment model performed by an Islamic boarding school from the perspective of developmental politics. Darul Mursyid boarding school, an Islamic education institution in the Sipirok district in North Sumatera, has been known to employ this model as a part of its social development efforts in giving economic and social benefits to the Sipirok society. This study was carried out through subsequent descriptive-qualitative research, observation, in-depth interview, and FGD (forum group discussion) methods. The results exhibited that most of the sociopreneurship efforts had been directed at producing agroforestry commodities such as coffee, vanilla, honey, vegetables, etc., along with other economic activities. The existence of Darul Mursyid boarding school greatly supported the financial capabilities of the community. Overall, the findings of this study revealed the critical role of Darul Mursyid's Islamic principles and the founding figures in driving the enhanced sociopreneurship empowerments. This outcome also implicitly exhibited the significant role of Islamic boarding schools despite civil organizations contributing a lot of benefits to society's welfare. Keywords: Development of Politics, Sociopreneurships, Empowerment, Islamic Boarding School, Darul Mursyid
