Abstract

One of the stated goals of MDGs is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. The higher the poverty and hunger of a country will have an impact on the health, welfare and food consumption of malnourished people, especially in toddlers. Nutrition necessity is main concern that must be considered in their growth. Nutrition can determine the level of children’s health. Good growth is not only physical growth but also their mental and intellectual development that is also expected to develop well. Therefore it becomes prevalent growth. The purpose of study was to know the relationship between mother’s knowledge on growth and children’s nutrient status aged 0-59 months in working area of Puskesmas Banguntapan I Bantul. The method was descriptive analytical research using cross sectional design and data research analysis of spearman rho. The sample collection was cluster sampling with lottery. Results showed that mother’s knowledge on growth was in good category 55.1% and less category 3.4%. Meanwhile, the nutrient status of children at age 0-59 months was in good category 70.8% and very thin category 3.4%. In conclusion, there was a relationship between mother’s knowledge on growth and children’s nutrient status aged 0-59 months in working area of Puskesmas Banguntapan I Bantul (p-value=0,000).

Abstract

Stroke is a neurological deficit multi complex disease that causes physical or mental disability can affect all aspects of an individual's life, including the quality of life of patients. Quality of life related to the welfare of patients and families with the provision of Palliative homecare Phenomenological study was conducted to explore in depth the quality of life of patients in palliative care homecare. Participants in this study with 13 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Themes related to the quality of life is domains includes physical activity, diet, memory and concentration, physical mobility, speech, pain, sleep and rest. Psychological domains include self-image, motivation of life, happiness and sadness. Among other social domains of social change include changes in the social function and the role change. Quality of life domains increased physical activity, diet, mobilization of physical and speech. Quality of life increased in the psychological domains motivation alive, happy feelings. Quality of life increased in the social domains changes in social function. This study shows that the quality of life patients stroke increasing and study recommended importance further research is important and palliative care as an intervention homecare nursing which plays an important role for improving the quality of life stroke patient. Abstract

Menstruation is the discharge of blood from the uterus through the vagina which happens monthly. Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is one of menstrual disorder and a health problem in reproductive women with prevalence about 20-40%. While, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is severe form of PMS with prevalence about 3-8%. Prevalence of PMS and PMDD increased in Pasca of disaster area about 47,3% and 41,8%. However, no researches aim to describe about life experience of adolescence with PMDD’s syndromes in pasca of disaster area. This study aimed to describe adolescents’s experience who experiencing symptoms of PMDD. This study used a qualitative study with phenomenological approach. Number of participants were six female students of SMK  Negeri 1 Cangkringan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia  that  meet PMDD based on the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders DSM-IV. In-depth interviews with a unstructured interview and using Colaizzi method for analysis data. Thus for trustworthiness with data source triangulation to their teachers and classmates. The results found four main themes describing the experience of adolescence with PMDD’s syndromes were formed: symptoms perceived as a change that affects the psychological, behavioral and physical; symptoms are intermittent along the menstrual cycle; environmental and hormonal factors play a role in the onset of symptoms; and symptoms cause discomfort and interfere social relationships of adolescents. Adolescents's experience with symptoms of  PMDD post-disaster as like as the normal condition  that cause discomfort that interferes adolescent’s social relationship. Nurses and other media personnel in the health care institution is expected to more actively participate to provide a wide range of related reproductive health education and giving intervention to reduce PMDD in order to increasing Women’s Quality of Life.

Abstract

Hands are the principal means of germs transmitting that causing diseases. Due to less of hand-washing habits, children become the highest sufferers of diarrhea and respiratory diseases, and its can end in death. Soaps have been reached to almost all of houses in Indonesia, but only about 3% that used soap every year. Approximatley the causes of died in 100,000 children in Indonesia were diarrhea, mostly in aged 5-14 years. Indonesia’s infant mortality rate was 32 per 1,000 live births. The mortality rate of nearly 19% due to diarrhea. Indonesian people’s behavior against five important time of handwashing with soap can be influenced by the level of knowledge, such a condition is evident in students SDN Ngebel Tamantirta, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The purpose of study was to determine the relationship between knowledge level of hand washing with soap attitudes before and after meals on student at SD N Ngebel Tamantirta, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. This study was inferential with cross-sectional design. The respondents were all students in grade 4, 5, and 6 SDN Ngebel Tamantirta Poor Bantul Yogyakarta. Samples included 96 people. Data were taken using a questionnaire. In conclusion, there was a correlation between knowledge level of hand washing with soap attitudes before and after meals on student at SD N Ngebel Tamantirta, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta.

Abstract

 Teenagers are a group of young people in the transition from children to adulthood. At this particular period adolescents have experienced rapid physical and psychological development in which physically they are considered to be adults but psychologically immature. In terms of biological development, most teenagers are mature, but socially, mentally and emotionally still cannot be considered to be matured. Thus, such condition might trigger a variety of adolescent problems such as drug abuse, pre-marriage sex which will likely result in unexpected pregnancies and even illegal abortion. This study aims to identify and analyze adolescent knowledge of condoms and the incidence of free sex behavior. The research used cross sectional method with a sample of 70 people taken in total sampling. Data were analyzed with fisher exact. The results showed a significant correlation between knowledge and kissing and petting behavior with p value 0.02 <0.05. Yet, No relationship showed up between knowledge and necking behavior (p value of 0.13) and sexual intercourse (0.43) Based on the study results, schools are expected to cooperate with local health centers to provide counseling on adolescent reproductive health, especially on free sex behavior

Abstract

Final year students whose individual maladaptive coping mechanisms would be very easy to get depressed. Less of knowledge about how to prevent and treat depression may result in fatal impact that is suicide. This inductive quantitative research with cross sectional design was aimed to know the relationship between mechanism koping with the level of depression in the last year student of the level of education ners study program college Alma Ata Yogyakarta. Samples were obtained by total sample technique which consisted of 47 respondents. Analysis test used Chi-Square test. The result of this research showed that there was a significant relationship between coping mechanisms at the level of depression (p<0.05) however there was no signifi cant relationship between coping mechanisms with age, gender, and place of residence (p>0.05).

Abstract

Stress, fear and anxiety are the factors which having contribution of pain perseption those influence labor process and birth experience.Birth ball is not only a non farmacological pain relief but also increasing emotional and psychlogical care. Self effiacy is a belief or an abiity to exert her ability to pass adversity in labor process. These is an important aspect which influence women motivation to make birth normally. It was quasi–experiment research. Treatment group was given birth ball exercise since 32 weeks of gestation until before labor process.Research period is from june until october 2014 at 5 (five) privat  midwife's private clinic and used consecutive sampling. The research analysis used t-independent to compare self efficacy level on control and treatment group that was taken at first self efficacy test. It also used t-independet on those group to compare self efficacy level at second test. In conclusion, there was influence of birth ball exercise to self efficacy of primiparous with normal labor, there was no difference on self efficacy level at 4 cm cervic dilatation on both groups, also there was 6.48 point of self efficacy level increase at 4 cm and 8 cm cervic dilatation after doing birth ball exercise. Birth ball exercise shoud be done since third trimester of pregnancy, which can be held integrated in antenatal class. There shoud be variety at physic exercise facility for pregnant woman and parturient at health services.

Abstract

Malnutrition in patients in the hospital have to know anything to do with the increase in the old days of hospitalisation, clinical conditions change, the increased use of hospital resources support, and increased risk of complications. The high malnutrition in hospitals have also been widely reported, at the time of going home from the hospital an average weight loss of 5.4%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of malnutrition is still relatively high, the prevalence of malnutrition by 40% -60% of patients digestif malnutrition. The results of the study in 2007, using the parameters Subjective Global Assessment (SGA), Body Mass Index (BMI), haemoglobin, hematocrit and albumin found the prevalence of malnutrition by 52%, 15%, 55%, 26% and 93%. Research in the UK found that promotional text messages to monitor the weight in the community have helped to identify the risk of malnutrition. Research purposes. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of nutrition booklet on food intake and levels of albumin surgical patients. Research methods. This study uses a pure experiment with Post Test Only with Control groups Design. Involved 60 respondents were divided into treatment group and 30 respondents 30 respondents comparison group. Statistical test using independent t-test with CI 95% Results: There were significant differences average remaining meal among surgical patients who use the nutrition booklet that does not use a nutrition booklet on alpha 5% with the p-value of 0.03. There are differences in the average value of serum albumin among surgical patients who use the nutrition booklet that does not use a nutrition booklet on alpha 5%, p 0.0001. Serum albumin levels and food intake increased significantly with the use of nutritional booklet.

Abstract

Background: Cough or breathing difficulty is a common problem that causes the increased rate of mortality and morbidity in infants. According to the chart of Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) in 2015 shows the difficulty in breathing or coughing is categorized into three cough diagnosis is not a cough but not pneumonia, pneumonia and severe pneumonia. Nutritional status of infants is important to forming body immune, especially in preventing infection. Malnutrition in infants results in children is vulnerable to various infections.Objective: Determining the relationship between nutritional status of under five years children and cough classification based IMCI in Public Health Center (PH) of Piyungan Bantul.Methods: The study was a descriptive correlational retrospective approach. Sampling technique by using simple random sampling. Subjects in this study amounted to 46 respondents, i.e children who come to the piyungan’s health center with complaints of cough in the period from June to August 2017. Data collection using secondary data by identifying the medical record data about weight and age and cough classification based IMCI. Results: The result showed the majority of nutritional status in both categories by 74%, the classification of a cough mostly not pneumonia at 69.6%. There was a relationship between the nutritional status of the classification of a cough in infants with a value of p = 0.001 (α <0.05) with the relationship (r) of -0.558 (medium). Conclusion: The hypothesis is acceptable. There is a significant relationship between nutritional status and classification of a cough by IMCI in PHC of Piyungan Bantul. It means better the nutritional status of children under five years making a lower classification of a cough in under five years children. Advice to parents is paying attention to nutrition for under five years children (micronutrients and macronutrients) who useful for the growth and development of them and improve the body's resistance to infection.

Abstract

Perineal Rupture is a laceration on perineum when delivering a baby. Perineal rupture is one of lacerations on birth canal which can cause complication which is dangerous for mother. The danger and complication of perineal rupture are bleeding, hematoma, fi stula, and infection. Based on the baseline study in RSUD Muntilan Magelang District, the number of normal deliveries in November 2013 to June 2014 found 612 people with normal delivery (spontaneous), as many as 243 people with a rupture perineum and the majority occur in women primiparous total of 37 people (15.22%), at a birth spacing >2 years as many as 87 people (35.80%), maternal aged 20-35 years as many as 46 people (18.93%), and 2.500-4.000 grams birth weight as much as 73 people (30.04%). The purposes of this study were to know the frequency distribution of perineal rupture on normal delivery and to know the relationship between perineal rupture and partum, birth spacing, mothers’ age, birth weight on normal delivery in RSUD Muntilan Magelang District of 2015. This study was observational analytics with cross sectional design. The research samples were 41 women of spontaneous vaginal delivery in RSUD Muntilan. The data were collected by using checklist. Based on the statistical test, there were no signifi cant relationship between perineal rupture and partum (p-value=0.893), birth spacing (p-value=0.682), and mothers age (p-value=0.434); while on birth weight there was a signifi cant relationship with the occurrence of rupture perineum (p-value=0.000). In conclusion, there was no infl uence between partum, birth spacing, and mothers’ age on perineal rupture. In this study, the factor that infl uences perineal rupture was the birth weight.
