Abstract

The main objective of this study, as mentioned on the title, is to determine whether there is any effect of music on physical task performance. Three different kind of music were used in this study: easy listening/slow music, hard rock music, and subject's own favorite music. The same physical task without music was also conducted for every subject as the control. To simulate the physical task, each subject has to walk on a treadmill at a constant speed (3 MPH) and inclination (4º) for six minutes. Enough rest was given after a subject finished each task. Four undergraduate and six graduate students were volunteered as subjects in this study. They are three females and seven males. Statistical analysis software programs were used to analyze the results. It is shown from this study that slow music and favorite music have significant effect on the physical task. The heart rate is significantly lower when the subjects listened to a slow music or their favorite music while performing a physical task compared with performing the same task without listening to any music. The heart rate is not significantly different when subjects listened to hard rock music compared with no music listened. On the other hand, VO2 consumption is not significantly different between without music and with all kind of music. Therefore, according to this study, it is beneficial to listen to a certain kind of music while performing a physical task since they lower the heart rate. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Tujuan utama dari paper ini adalah untuk menentukan apakah ada pengaruh dari musik terhadap performance dari seseorang saat melaksanakan pekerjaan fisik. Tiga jenis musik digunakan dalam studi ini: musik ringan, hard rock, dan musik favorit masing-masing subjek. Pekerjaan fisik yang sama tanpa musik juga dilaksanakan sebagai kontrol. Sebagai pekerjaan fisik, setiap subjek berjalan di atas treadmill dengan kecepatan konstan (4.8 km/jam) dan kemiringan konstan (4º) selama 6 menit. Setiap subjek diberikan istirahat yang cukup setiap kali selesai melaksanakan satu eksperimen. Sepuluh mahasiswa, tiga wanita dan tujuh pria berpartisipasi secara sukarela dalam studi ini. Program statistik digunakan untuk menganalisa hasil studi. Dari hasil perhitungan, tampak bahwa musik ringan dan favorit secara signifikan mempengaruhi performance fisik. Detak jantung per menit lebih rendah saat subyek mendengarkan musik ringan atau musik favorit mereka sambil melaksanakan pekerjaan fisik, dibandingkan tanpa mendengarkan musik. Pada saat mendengarkan musik hard rock, detak jantung menurun tetapi tidak signifikan. Di lain pihak, konsumsi oksigen tidak menurun secara signifikan bila tanpa musik dibandingkan dengan mendengarkan musik. Karena itu, akan lebih menguntungkan bila pada saat melakukan suatu pekerjaan fisik, pekerja mendengarkan musik ringan atau musik favorit mereka. Abstract

Airline revenue management (ARM) is one of emerging topics in transportation logistics areas. This paper discusses a problem in ARM which is dynamic pricing for two parallel flights owned by the same airline. We extended the existing model on Joint Pricing Model for Parallel Flights under passenger choice behavior in the literature. We generalized the model to consider multiple full-fare class instead of only single full-fare class. Consequently, we have to define the seat allocation for each fare class beforehand. We have combined the joint pricing model and the model of nested Expected Marginal Seat Revenue (EMSR) model. To solve this hybrid model, we have developed a dynamic programming-based algorithm. We also have conducted numerical experiments to show the behavior of our model. Our experiment results have showed that the expected revenue of both flights significantly induced by the proportion of the time flexible passengers and the number of allocated seat in each full-fare class. As managerial insights, our model has proved that there is a closed relationship between demand management, which is represented by the price of each fare class, and total expected revenue considering the passenger choice behavior.

Abstract

The paper discusses the application of Analytic Network Process (ANP) to support the weighted of design performance measurement system with Balanced Scorecard method. During the time, the weighted uses method that disregarding interdependence between objectives strategy and Key Performance Indicator (KPI's). The method which often used in this weighted is Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). In fact this condition does not express the concept of strategy map of Balanced Scorecard. Therefore is needed apply the other weighted method which attention to the interdependence between Key Performance Indicator (KPI). Application of the weighted with ANP method is conducted at one of the power company. This company represents result of restructuring of PT. PLN (Persero). The result of design performance measurement system of PT. X are objective strategy, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and strategy map, will be weighted by method of ANP. Further more Modeling of ANP based on strategy map. The result of application indicates that related of model of strategy map in Balanced Scorecard at PT. X is Feedback Network (hiernet) with phenomenon of inner and dependence of outer dependence. The perspective on Balanced Scorecard is identically with cluster on ANP, while objective strategy and KPI are identically with sub-element and element. Result of weighted with ANP method shows the existence of culmination of weighted on financial perspective of Strategy Map at PT. X. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Makalah ini membahas aplikasi Analytic Network Process (ANP) untuk mendukung pembobotan pada perancangan sistem pengukuran kinerja dengan metode Balanced Scorecard. Selama ini, pembobotan yang ada menggunakan metode yang mengabaikan saling keterkaitan antar strategi objektif dengan Key Performance Indicator (KPI-KPI) -nya. Metode yang sering digunakan didalam pembobotan ini adalah Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Kondisi ini sebenarnya tidak mencerminkan konsep Strategy Map dari Balanced Scorecard oleh karena itu perlu diaplikasikan metode pembobotan lain yang memperhatikan saling ketergantungan antara ukuran kinerja yang satu dengan yang lain. Aplikasi pembobotan dengan metode ANP dilakukan pada PT. X salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak didalam penyediaan listrik. Perusahaan ini merupakan hasil restrukturisasi dari PT. PLN (Pembangkit Listrik Negara). Dari hasil perancangan sistem pengukuran kinerja PT. X berupa strategi objektif, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dan Strategy Map-nya, akan dilakukan pembobotan dengan metode ANP. Pemodelan pada konteks ANP didasarkan atas Strategy Map-nya. Hasil aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa jenis keterkaitan model Strategy Map pada Balanced Scorecard di PT. X adalah Feedback Network (hiernet) dengan fenomena inner dependence dan outer dependence. Perspektif pada Balanced Scorecard identik dengan cluster pada ANP, sedangkan strategi objektif dan KPI identik dengan elemen dan sub elemen. Hasil pembobotan dengan metode ANP menunjukkan adanya kulminasi nilai bobot pada perspektif finansial dari Strategy Map di PT. X. Kata kunci: Sistem Pengukuran Kinerja, Balanced Scorecard, Analytic Network Process.

Abstract

Pekalongan is one of the batik cities in Central Java, many batik SMEs thrive in Pekalongan. Batik SMEs indicated a cause of environmental pollution that occurred in the city of Pekalongan. Pollution caused by the use of chemicals in the dyeing process. This study aims to measure the eco-costs and eco-efficiency rate of batik products, as well as looking for suggestions on improving eco-efficiency. Eco-efficiency rate is measured by using LCA (Life Cycle Assess-ment) doped with SimaPro software. This method is used to evaluate the environmental impacts arising from the use of the constituent materials. The results of the data processing show that the value of eco-costs for chemical dye batik is Rp 188,028.32, with eco-efficiency rate is 68.74%. Batik industries are not sustainable and affordable. Economizing of the resourcing and applying cleaner production can be accomplished to enhance the eco-efficiency rate. Cleaner production can be achieved using natural dyes and implement End of Life strategies.

Abstract

This paper presents a study about new heuristic algorithm performance compared to Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) method in solving flowshop scheduling problem to reach minimum makespan. Performance appraisal is based on Efficiency Index (EI), Relative Error (RE) and Elapsed Runtime. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Makalah ini menyajikan penelitian tentang performance algoritma heuristik Pour terhadap metode Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) dalam menyelesaikan masalah penjadwalan flowshop dengan tujuan meminimalkan makespan. Abstract

In this article we discuss several methods for predicting nickel ore content inside the soil under a given area/region. The prediction is the main objective of the exploration activity which is very important for conducting the exploitation activity from economic point of view. The prediction methods are based on the data obtained from the drilling activity at several ‘points’. The data yields information on the nickel density at those points. Nickel density over the region is approximated (with an approximate function) by applying interpolation and/or extrapolation based on the data from those points. The nickel content is predicted by applying integral of the approximate function over the given region

Abstract

Mofularity design has been applied in many European countries, especially in industrial assembling and manufacturing. Modularity design cause manufacture process and assembly process easier and cheaper. Many industries in Indonesia usually doing corrective maintenance or preventive maintenance. So, in this research, modularity design will be applied in preventive maintenance in fish mill Indonesian factory. In this research, corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance cost will be compared to preventive maintenance cost using modularity design. From the research, the application of preventive maintenance using modularity design reduces cost up to 35.98% from the initial condition (corrective maintenance) Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Modularity design telah banyak diterapkan di negara-negara Eropa terutama dalam hal perakitan dan manufaktur di bidang industri. Modularity design menyebabkan proses manufaktur dan perakitannya lebih sederhana dan murah. Perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia biasanya lebih banyak melakukan kegiatan corrective maintenance atau preventive mainternance. Dalam penelitian ini, modularity design dicoba diterapkan dalam kegiatan preventive maintenance di perusahaan tepung ikan di Indonesia. Pada penelitian ini dibandingkan biaya yang diperlukan untuk kegiatan corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance dan preventive maintenance dengan modularity design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penerapan preventive maintenance dengan modularity design dapat menurunkan biaya sebesar 35,98% dari keadaan awal (corrective maintenance). Abstract

The selection of supplier is a strategic decision in supply chain which increase competitive advantages. Every manufacture needs to have a standard supplier selection that appropriate with the requirement of the company. The aims of this paper are promoting some criterias of supplier selection and testing whether there are differences interests against priority criteria referred to of strata tenure distinct. Weights and priorities of the criteria tested with a method of analytic network process (ANP) are also intended to bring up a relation of mutual influence among the criteria. ANP can be used to help making decision of selection supplier and to manage supply chain performance. This paper shows the criteria that influence are the past perfomance, price, communication systems, and a supplier of professionalism is the priority for the production of the company. In the other hand, the importance of management is the delivery time, consistent quality, price, and number of delivery. The difference in perspective is influenced by the level of interest and different responsibilities. The difference this assessment formed the basis of decision-making and strategic policies of the supply chain according to the condition of the company.

In this paper we sketch briefly some Bootstrap methods for independent and dependent data. Finally we give an Bootstrap example for constructing confidence interval in the forecasting for stationer data. Abstract

In today’s global era, the electronic service quality (E-SQ) development has swept across almost all service sectors. This development represents not only a new paradigm for providing services, but also a weapon for winning competitions. This research aims to examine and determine the key service attributes of E-SQ which is adopted from service quality (SERVQUAL) methodology as the reference model. The proposed E-SQ framework will be illustrated with a web service performance example of some public and private hospitals in Indonesia by integrating fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). Finally, this study shows the implementation of the E-SQ framework in evaluating the complexity of service attributes observed in the hospital healthcare services via websites.
