Abstract

The equal education program is designed to expand access to educational services for the community in order to improve the quality of human resources with character. PKBM Ash-Shoddiq as a provider of equal education that grows from, by and for the community contributes to producing graduates with character. The aim of this research is to describe data regarding the application of character values in the equality education program at PKBM Ash-Shoddiq. The theoretical study used is the concept of character education and equality education programs. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a case method. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, literature study, documentation and observation. The research subjects were managers, tutors, learning residents and the foundation's board of trustees. The research results show that the application of character values in the equality education program is carried out in an integrated and holistic manner that combines character values and life skills education. The character values that are built are politeness, healthy lifestyle, independence, usefulness, having work and filial piety, where in the holistic-integration approach, the tutor's competence in developing the character and life skills of students is not separated from their competence in teaching academic subjects. On the contrary, both are considered an integral part of the tutor's responsibility in forming individuals with integrity and potential. The researcher concluded that this approach recognizes the importance of developing the character of students in a balanced manner with the mastery of academic knowledge and life skills.

Abstract

Numeracy is a critical skill that underpins a wide range of cognitive and practical abilities such as logical reasoning, problem-solving, and the capacity to analyze and interpret data. How students eventually grasp this skill is influenced by a complex interplay of factors that include gender, area of residence, and study habits. Through a comparative study, this research aimed to compare students’ numeracy skills according to certain categories, such as students’ gender, area of living, as well as study habits. A total of 506 randomly selected secondary school students (Female = 285; Male = 221) participated in this study. To collect the data, an online survey was administered to targeted students with a total of 56 questions in the form of structured questionnaire. Through both descriptive and inferential analysis this study revealed that in terms of gender female students outperformed male counterpart with significant statical difference. Moreover, students who live in urban areas had the highest numeracy skills compared to other areas. Lastly, students who set pre-lesson preparation and post-lesson review displayed significantly higher numeracy skill compared to those who are not. Elaboration for each finding further discussed in this paper.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of the project-based learning model on student’s 21st-Century skills about environmental pollution. This article was written using a meta-analytic research design. This was done using effect size testing by analyzing 7 relevant research publications. Research data can be obtained through online database based on google scholar and semantic scholar. The result of the study of critical thinking skills in the influence test were 3.85 and 4.52 showing that the influence criterion is very high. The result of communication skills research in the influence test were 3.44 and 0.83 showing that the influence criteria were very high and large. The result of research on creative skills in the effect size test are 3.55; 2.94; 1.42 and 5.4 represent very high and large influence criteria. The research result on collaboration skills in the influence test is 0.89 demonstrating large influence criteria. Based on impact test, implementing a project based learning model on student’s 21st-century skills about environmental pollution has a great impact. Through materials on environmental pollution has a great impact. Through materials on environmental pollution using a project based learning model, student’s critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity skills can be improved

Abstract

The digital-based school leadership health diagnosis is a continuation of previous research that developed concepts and instruments for diagnosing school leadership health. The application created in this study utilizes a streamlined process based on the first five stages of Borg and Gall's model, which aims to produce an efficient diagnostic tool. Initially, the application included five stages: self-evaluation, interviews, observations, preparation of recommendations, and implementation of recommendations. However, through limited trials, the diagnosis stages were reduced from five to four, by eliminating the observation stage. The refined process now consists of self-evaluation, interviews, preparation of recommendations, and implementation of recommendations. It was observed that the objectives of the removed observation stage could still be effectively met during the interview process, where the validation, analysis, and discussion of leadership health issues were conducted. This digital application demonstrates an enhanced capacity for diagnosing school leadership health in a more efficient and streamlined manner, without compromising the accuracy of the diagnosis. The results of this study indicate that the application successfully reduces the time needed for analysis while maintaining a high level of diagnostic precision.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the application of the problem-based learning (PBL) model to improve students' problem-solving abilities in Mathematics subjects in class. This research is classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. The research subjects were students of the class. The research procedure consists of 4 stages in each cycle: planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The biology learning process uses the problem-based learning (PBL) learning method. The indicator of learning outcomes in this research is an increase in students' ability to solve problems in mathematics subjects. The results of the research showed that students' problem-solving skills increased in each cycle; in cycle II, there were nine people in the 90 - 100 (excellent) range, 16 people in the 80 - 89 (good) range, and seven people in the 80 - 89 (good) range. Value range 70 – 79 (medium). These findings underscore the potential of the PBL model to effectively enhance students' capacity to solve mathematical problems, offering a more engaging and effective learning experience.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the cooperative learning model with Baurus pattern problem solving method on the collaborative skills of students of SMP Kristen 2 (Christian Junior High School 2) on the subject of Indonesian Ecology and Biodiversity. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive (quasi-experimental). The research subjects were students of class VII-D (control class) and class VII-C (experimental class) at SMP Kristen 2 Salatiga. Data analysis is carried out using inferential statistics with the Wilcoxon test, Man Whitney, and N-Gain score. The results of the validity and reliability test on the research instrument show that the instrument is valid and reliable. Based on the results of observations, the syntax of the cooperative learning model with Baurus pattern problem solving method is included in the fully implemented category with a score of 4.9. Students also give positive response with a score of 0.9. The results of the Wilcoxon test show that the cooperative learning model with Baurus problem solving method has an effect on collaborative skills with a p-value of 0.00 α 0.05 and an N-Gain score reaching 0.7 (high). The results of the Man Whitney test show a p-value of 0.00α0.05, which means there is a significant difference in influence between the cooperative learning model with Baurus pattern problem solving method and STAD cooperative learning model.

Abstract

Collaboration skills are vital for 21st-century success, particularly as advancements reshape various aspects of life. At SMK N 1 Kedawung, The Basics of Plant Agribusiness, a subject for tenth graders, emphasizes cultivating these skills. This study investigates the effects of different learning models-discovery learning and project-based learning (PjBL)-on enhancing vocational students' collaboration skills. Conducted using classroom action research with a qualitative descriptive approach, the study spanned five cycles. The findings reveal that both models significantly improve collaboration skills. Discovery learning fosters inquiry and problem-solving through active exploration, gradually enhancing teamwork and critical thinking. In contrast, PjBL centers on collaborative, real-world projects, promoting hands-on engagement and deeper learning. Quantitative results show that collaboration skills improved in all cycles, with PjBL demonstrating a more pronounced effect. Discovery learning yielded consistent yet gradual improvements over three cycles. However, PjBL facilitated quicker and more substantial progress within two cycles, underscoring its effectiveness in fostering teamwork, participation, and practical knowledge application. In conclusion, both methods positively influence collaboration skills, with PjBL offering superior outcomes. Its practical, engaging approach makes it particularly effective for vocational training, addressing the demands of 21st-century education. PjBL is thus recommended for optimal skill development.
