Abstract

Student learning outcomes are the most important thing in learning activities. The success of students in learning is influenced by the ferformance of good teachers and the activity of student in classroom, especially in science lessons that emphasizes students to play an active role during learning activitis. One the learning approaches that can be used to improve student activity in classroom is Discovery approach. This research was conducted using PTK, and model used is spiral Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Discovery approach. Subject research are student SDN Sukasirna II subdistrict Sumedang Selatan residential Sumedang. Instrument in this study are observation guidelines ferformance teacher, activities student, test results, interview teacher, interview student, field notes, and dokumentation. Based on the results of research using Discovery approach can improve student learning outcomes. This can be see in the creasestudent learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Lack of students 'understanding of the benefits and usefulness of mathematics for their life has become one of the factors causing the low ability of students' mathematical connections. Alternative solutions for this problem is to use a contextual approach with talk think write strategy (TTW) in mathematics. The method used was the method of quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of  5th grader in SDN Kecamatan Pasirjambu with  sample 5th grader A-class students of SDN  Cisondari I as a control class and 5th grader B-class as  experiment class. Based on the research that has been done, there was a conclusion that : 1) contextual approach to the strategy think talk write (TTW) and conventional learning can improve the ability to connect mathematical students on material ratio, 2) contextual approach to the strategy think talk write (TTW) is better than conventional learning to improve students' mathematical connection to the material ratio, 3) most of the students in the experimental class gave a positive response to the study by using  contextual approach with talk think write strategy (TTW).

Abstract

The researched was purposed to find out whether there was any significant increasing who have been taught of social science and self-regulated learning from student by using social inquiries strategy and conventional strategy, to knowing correlation between understanding of the social science and self-regulated learning of students. This type of the research  is quasi experimental with using non equivalent control group  design. The population is all of student of 5th grade of elementary school in Pamulihan District. The results of data analysis showed that no significant a difference between experimental class or control, value of P-value (2-tailed) for amount 0,096 ≥ 0,05 impact on  H0  for received and H1 for rejected. And there is no difference between learning using social inquiries strategy and conventional strategy to improving self regulated learning of the students to show 0,079 ≥ 0,05 impact on  H0  for received and H1 for rejected. There is no related to understanding between a social science with self regulated learning students is value of P-value (2-tailed) for amount 0,580 ≥ 0,05, so that the value H0 for received and  H1 for rejected.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning to Improve Science Literacy on Food Relation with Health. Science literacy is ability to review a problem or phenomenon on the point of science view. Science literacy can be enhanced trough the problem-solving process in science learning. Teacher roles as the information center, transforms into facilitator, motivator and creator to help construct student knowledge. Problem based learning process allows students to be actively involved because  given the opportunity to solve a problem related to an event.. Problem-based learning affects both the science literacy students of class V on the relationship of food to health. This is evidenced by the research using pre-experiment method with pretest-postest one group design which shows that problem-based learning can significantly increase students literacy ability in high, medium and low group. Based on the results of the study problem-based learning can be used as a solution to improve literacy skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This research aims to compare problem-based learning approach and guided inquiry approach that has a greater influence on mathematics communication ability and students’ learning motivation. This research used quasi experimental research method with the nonequivqlent control group design. The population of this research is all fourth grade students in the elementary school of Lelea subdistrict who use school based curriculum (KTSP). The sample in this research is taken fourth grade students of SDN Tugu II and fourth grade students of SDN Pengauban I.  The instrument used in this research is test of mathematics communication ability and attitude scale test of learning motivation,  teacher performance observation and students’ activity and interview. Based on the value of significance and the mean of final value, it is concluded that the PBL has a better effect than the guided inquiry approach to students' mathematics communication ability. However the students of PBL class, guided inquiry students have equal learning motivation in mathematics.Therefore, there is no positive and significant correlation between mathematics communication ability with students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improved understanding and connection mathematical ability by applying problem-based learning approached and conventional learning, the differents of improved about both of them, the connection between understanding ability and connection ability also students response after given the treatment used  problem-based learning approached. Quasi-experiments method with control teams design wasn’t equivalent to used. The instrumen which used pretest and posttest questions, observation paper both teacher performance and students activity, also interview students guided. Based on the purpose of the research, the result student’s understanding and connection mathematical ability was improved, both at class experiment and control class. But, the result not refered that learning used by problem-based learning approached was better than conventional learning.  A lot of factor which can make it happen. But, students responed was good after the class meeting used problem-based learning approached. Based on signification degree 0,05, the result showed that understanding and connection mathematical ability, both of them has positive connection.

Abstract

Lack of student motivation to follow the learning and use of methods used by teachers in learning to determine the main thoughts less attractive for students, causing less motivated students to follow the learning well. Therefore, the use of game Pepetic-assisted analysis Adiksimba to improve the value of the process and student learning outcomes. The use of Pepetic game is used to improve the result of lesson plan, implementation or learning process, student activity, and result of student learning test in cognitive aspect and psychomotor aspect. The method used in this research is PTK with Kemmis model design and Mc Taggart. After using Adiksimba-assisted Pepetic analysis game, the learning cycle I learned 84.8%, 83% learning, 59% student activity, and student learning test result in the subject matter determined 75% of complete students. While in cycle III, the results of planning and implementation of teacher performance learning reaches 100%, student activity reaches 90.3%, and learning test results reach 88.5%.

Abstract

In problem solving, the students have to need creative thinking ability that will show the creative solutions without any hesitation. An open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy is one options to improving students' creative thinking ability. The research uses quasi experiment method with nonequivalent control group design. Research population is all students of grade V SD in North Sumedang Subdistrict. Meanwhile, the samples are SDN Bendungan 2 as the experimental class and SDN Sukamulya as the control class. After learning during four times, both at SDN Bendungan 2 or SDN Sukamulya have increased on mathematical creative thinking ability. Hence the open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and conventional approach have a positive effect on mathematical creative thinking ability. However, based on the average of N-gain obtained there is no a significant difference between the positive effects of the open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and the conventional approach.
