Abstract

Based on the researcher's interest in the ability of students 'learning styles that can be used with Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic learning models (VAK) is an appropriate way to improve students' science process skills, so students can feel comfortable and not easily feel bored because rarely once the teacher in his learning activities uses all three learning styles. And based on the theory of Jean Paget, Accelerated Learning, and Bruner. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' science process skills in temperature and heat material through VAK learning. The design of this study was quasi-experimental with the population of all fifth grade elementary school students in Cimaung sub-district. The sample was SDN Jagabaya 02, VA class as the experimental class and VB class as the control class.  The instruments used were science process skills tests, student response questionnaires, guidelines for observing student activities and teacher performance. Based on the results of the study, there were differences in the improvement of science process skills of students between those using the VAK model using conventional learning models.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research in this study is an improvement of the problems found by teachers in learning, namely the lack of analytical skills and student motivation. Improvement aims to improve planning, implementation, learning motivation, and ability to analyze students. The subject was a fift- grade student at Pasirbenteng II Elementary School. As a result, the implementation of the Number Heads Together (NHT) model with Jarum Pintar can improve teacher performance in the first cycle planning stage 81.8%, cycle 2 93.9%, cycle 3 100%, phase 1 implementation cycle 81.3%, cycle 2 92 %, cycle 3 100%, student learning motivation criteria very good cycle 1 48%, cycle 2 64%, cycle 3 92%, ability to analyze cycle 1 32%, cycle 2 52%, cycle 3 89%. Then it is evident that the application of NHT models with Jarum Pintar can improve the ability of students to analyze and learn motivation on material forms of human interaction with their environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in the ability to understand and solve mathemadarical problems using the Problem Based Learning approach in fracdarion material. This study used a quasi-experimental method and design research design for nonquivalent control groups. The study populadarion was all class II Cisarua sub-districts with samples of class II experimental class students at SDN Cisalak II and class II students at SDN Cisalak III in the control class. The conclusions of this study: 1) Problem Based Learning with the content of the local culture of Sumedang Regency to improve understanding skills, 2) Problem Based Learning with the contents of the local culture of Sumedang Regency to improve mathemadarical problem solving abilidaries 3) Problem Based Learning with the local culture of Sumedang Regency improve understanding and problem solving skills mathemadarically compared to convendarional learning.

Abstract

This research was taken because of the mistake of understanding the data processing concept, and lack of learning motivation in elementary students. Most of students immediately given questions in the form of data, students are not taught how to get a way where the data came from. The steps that are suitable to improve the ability of mathematical understanding and learning motivation of students on data processing material by using the Cooperative Type Two Stay Two Stray approach. Two Stay Two Stray is one type of learning from a cooperative approach. The purpose of the research conducted was to see the effect of using the Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray approach to the ability of mathematical understanding and student motivation in data processing material. This research used a quasi-experimental method using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all fourth grade elementary school students in Ujungjaya District, Sumedang Regency. While the sample was fourth grade students at SDN Cibuluh and fourth grade students at SDN Trijaya. The instrument used was a test of the learning outcomes of mathematical understanding, the scale of learning motivation, the observation format of teacher performance, and the observation format of student activities. The results of the research with a significance level = 0,05, showed that the Cooperative Two Stay Two Stray approach was better at improving students’ mathematical comprehension and learning motivation in the data processing material than learning that has been done in the control class using conventional learning.Keywords: Cooperative Type Two Stay Two Stray, understanding and motivation.

Abstract

Mathematics communication and student’s wiliing for learning is a focus of mathematical learning that important to grow in elementary school. Discovery learning with quantum strategy is the one of best alternative to increase mathematical communication skills and student’s willing for learning. The purpose of this research is to compare learning with discovery learning method with learning that use konventional approach. Research method that use is quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Research sample is 31 students and 32 students. SDN Cintaasih I as experiment class and SDN Cintaasih II as control class. Result of the research shows that there were differences in the influence between discovery learning with quantum strategy with conventional approach for student’s mathematical communication skills and student’s willing for learning. The biggest influence is on class by discovery learning with quantum strategy. In other way, there is a positive connection between mathematical communication and studen’s willing for learning, with a contribution rate of 20,79%.

Abstract

This research is based on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The goal of this research is to find out how the influence of cinematic video media towards students' critical thinking; to find out the different influence of cinematic video media and conventional learning on students' critical thinking skills; and to find out how the students’ respond to learning using cinematic video media. The design of this research is quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research is the class V elementary school students in Cisarua Subdistrict with a research sample of SDN Ciuyah II class V as the experimental class and SDN Cisalak II class V as the control class. The instruments used in this research are thinking ability test questions, teacher observation sheets and student activities, attitude scale questionnaires, and interviews. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that: There is a positive influence that shows an increase in the ability of students in the experimental class, the use of better video media on how to improve students' thinking skills, and most students in the experimental class respond positively to learning using cinematic video media.

Abstract

Latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian ini karena masih terdapat siswa yang belum tuntas pada materi menulis saran di Kelas III SDN Panyingkiran 3. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut maka diterapkan Model Pembelajaran Bermain Peran Berbasis VCT Berbantuan Media Kertas Gulung. Tujuannya yaitu untuk meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan observasi, wawancara, tes. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara, catatan lapangan, soal. Hasil penelitian ranah afektif siklus I diperoleh 63%, siklus II  80%, siklus III 100% mendapat kriteria baik. Ranah kognitif siklus I terdapat 43%, siklus II 63%, siklus III 91% siswa tuntas. Untuk ranah psikomotor pada siklus I terdapat  26%, siklus II 43%, siklus III 86% siswa tuntas. Dapat disimpulkan dengan menerapkan Model Pembelajaran Bermain Peran Berbasis VCT Berbantuan Media Kertas Gulung dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis saran siswa kelas III SDN Panyingkiran 3.

Abstract

Mathematics is a science that applies continuously and universally. Because mathematics is obtained based on reasoning. The mathematical concept that is learned through reasoning  is  very  helpful  for  humans  in  matters  of  daily  life.  The  scope  of  the mathematical material taught in elementary school is geometry, one of which is many facets. To master material as much as it is regular and irregular, it requires the ability of mathematical  understanding  to  master  it.  Determining  a  lot  correctly  needs  to  be believed, because there are some students who are not confident in the results that have been calculated. One of the efforts to improve students' mathematical understanding and self-efficacy is to use the CTL (Contextual Teaching Learning) approach. This study used a group control pretest-posttest group design, with a fourth grade sample at SDN 3Arjawinangun Cirebon. This study aims to determine the effect of the CTL approach to comprehension  and  self-efficacy,  knowing  the  effect  of  conventional  approaches  to comprehension and self-efficacy and knowing the correlation between comprehension and self-efficacy. The results of this study are posttest scores on the ability of understanding and self-efficacy in the experimental class and the control experienced an increase from the results of the value of the pretest of comprehension and self-efficacy. In addition there is an increase in N-Gain on the results of the pretest and posttest results. But there is no correlation  between  the  ability  of  mathematical  understanding  and  self-efficacy.  The conclusions obtained from this study are 1) there is a positive effect of the CTL approach on the ability of mathematical understanding and self-efficacy, 2) there is a positive effect of conventional approaches on mathematical understanding and self-efficacy abilities, 3) there is a correlation between mathematical and self-understanding abilities efficacy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine students conceptual and procedural abilities in solving problems in multiplication operations and to know the factors that cause students to experience solving problems difficulties in multiplication operations in third grade students in  SDN Sukamaju, SDN Panyingkiran I, and SDN Panyingkiran II. This reseacrh uses descriptive methods with the subject of reseacrh is all third students in SDN  Sukamaju, SDN Panyingkiran I, and SDN Panyingkiran II that amount to one hundred people. Data collection techniques and research instruments that used are diagnostic test, interview guidelines, and teacher performance guidelines. The data analysis technique that used is descriptive statistics. The result of the research indicate that students’ conceptual abilities in the multiplication counting operation material are still fairly low. Students make a alot of mistakes when they’re completing test question. The most mistakes that student do in diagnostic test is in the final result and the least error is in the use of mathematical symbols. Students’ procedural abilities in solving problems in multiplication operation is fairly low. If viewed based on the stages of problem solving, the most ability that mastered by students is the ablity of understand the problem and the least ability is the ability of check back the solution and expend the problem. The factors that caused students to experience difficulties in solving problems in multiplication operations, includes by the factors that cause errors in working on diagnostic test question, internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

Education requires innovation to be able to compete with other countries, one of which is in the field of scientific literacy. This study was conducted to determine the increase in scientific literacy of class V students of heat transfer material through blended learning. The research method used is a quasi-experiment that compares two different groups of classes. The design used is nonequivalent control group design or the presence of a control and experimental group. Cijambe I Elementary School as a control group using offline blended learning and Cijambe II Elementary School as an experimental group using online blended learning. The findings are that the increase in scientific literacy of students in the experimental class is higher than the control class, this is evidenced by the difference in the average in the control class is lower than the experiment. The value of the difference in the average experimental class was 16.94 while the control class was 0.93. The improvement of students' scientific literacy skills in heat transfer material through online blended learning compared to offline.
