Abstract

Renal and urinary tract diseases can caused severe problem if its diagnose late. That is because Renal organs have ability to compensate and human can live normally with one renal organ. Urinalysis test as a screening test can be performed without any indication and there are parameters which are represent so many condition that are affected by renal function. Abnormal urinalysis may indicate renal and urinary tract disease or renal damage caused by other disease. The source of uncertain component in urine specimen were estimated on biological variation or influenced by end product of metabolism and the question is whether or not this approach represents good laboratory practice should be identified. In conclusion, urinalysis could detect chronic renal disease in its early stage and also good laboratory practice could give reliable result. Keywords: renal; urinalysis; proteinuria; urine sediment

Abstract

Essential fatty acids play an important role in brain development and visual acuity. Essential fatty acids are needed for optimal health, but human can not synthesize and must be obtained from food. There are two types of essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6. The balance between these essential fatty acids is very important. Deficiency of these essential fatty acids in the critical period may affect the development of children in the future. Several studies have proven the importance of essential fatty acids in the period of brain development and visual acuity in childrenKeywords: essential fatty acids; brain development; visual acuity

Abstract

Functional dyspepsia is common in adolescents. School absenteeism and poor quality of life are associated with the severity of the symptoms. Pathophysiology of functional dyspepsia is very heterogeneous. Currently there is no satisfactory therapy in the treatment of functional dyspepsia. Biopsychosocial factor is one of the contributing factor causing the symptoms of functional dyspepsia. One of the alternative therapy is Tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) such as amitriptyline. Amitriptyline is theoretically advantageous because their overall effect on the brain-gut axis, both at the center and in the intestine. Keywords: amitriptyline; functional dyspepsia; adolescent

Abstract

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma constitutes 0.05% of all head and neck tumors. It is histologically benign, but locally invasive tumor with a high incidence of persistence and recurrence. Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is still poorly understood with regard to its origin, greater incidence among males, and the specificity of its site of origin. Treatment of juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is mainly surgery. There are various surgical approach such as: transpalatine, transpalatine and sublabial, extended lateral rhinotomi or degloving approach and extracranial-intracranial and intratemporal fossa. Treatment options for angiofibroma nasopharyng include chemotherapy, hormone administration, radiation therapy, embolization. Today, these modalities are used only as occasional complementary treatment. We reported a case report with recurrent juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma that occured in a 13 years old young boy and have been done previous operation. Keywords: juvenile; nasopharyng; angiofibroma

Fourteen employees (29.2%) suffered from NIHL who worked at '3d85 dB and 34 employees (70.8%) didn’t suffer from NIHL. With chi-square test found no significant difference between the noise level in gas power plant with GPAB incident (P = 0.937). Abstract

Functional dyspepsia is common disorder of the upper gastrointestinal tract, occurring in 26% to 34% of the general population and very common in children with 80% with chronic abdominal pain. In the last one and a half decades, the concept of free radical mediated oxidative stress has gain tremendous scientific momentum right from studying its role in the pathophysiology of disease to its therapeutic implications. Almost all gastrointestinal diseases have been evaluated for underlying Oxidative stress as a causative factor and intervention with antioxidants attempted it. Selenium is one of many antioxidants. Selenium is an essential component of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which functions as part of an antioxidant system to protect cells from the potential damaging effect of reactive oxygen. The result in these studies have been limited, but the antioxidant function of selenium plays protective roles in human disease, including prostate, stomach, lung, colon cancer, immunodeficiency and heart disease, its known as enzymes effect of selenium. Keywords : functinal dyspepsia; oxidative stress; selenium

Abstract

Nowadays, TB continues to be a major health problem and a global public health issue. Latent tuberculosis is the clinical state characterized by the presence of lasting mycobacteria specific T-cell responses, assessed by tuberculin skin test (TST), in case of the absence of clinical and radiological manifestation of tuberculosis. Detection and treatment of latent tuberculosis is a key strategy in the control of TB. The Quantiferon TB Gold and T-Spot TB did not show higher sensitivity neither specificity than TST in detection latent TB in children. Tuberculin skin test is remain a recommended method to diagnose latent TB in children. Keywords : latent tuberculosis; children

Abstract

Mother who gave birth to premature babies often have difficulty getting adequate milk production. Various attempts to increase milk production have been made, including pharmacological interventions. One of the drugs that can be used is domperidone. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine receptor antagonist, works by blocking the inhibitory effects of dopamine-mediated prolactin secretion, thereby increasing milk production. Three randomized double-blind study showed that domperidon can increase milk production without causing any side effects to the mother and baby. Keywords : domperidone; premature; breastfed
