School garden is one of learning sources to introduce students with environmental education. Environmental education through school garden can form a student’s perception that helps to develop a good atittude of school environmental management. The aim of this study was to find out the correlation between student’s perception about school garden with the attitude of school environmental management. This study was conducted in May 2015 at SMAN 4 Tangerang and SMAN 5 Tangerang. This study used quantitative method through correlational studies. Sampling was done by simple random sampling used 214 students of class XI who had been using school garden as a learning sources. The analysis prerequisite test results are normally distributed and homogeneous data. The regression models was Ŷ = 19.41 + 0,672X, and the correlation coefficient was 0.715 which means there was positive correlation between student’s perception about the school garden with the attitude of school environmental management. The coefficient of determination was 51.1%. It can be interpreted that student’s perception about school garden contributed 51.1% to the attitude of school environmental management.

Jakarta residents’ waste volume increased twofoldon 2015.If the waste is negligible, there will beaccumulation ofwastewhich in turn damage the environmentandharm thesurrounding community. That requires participation in processing waste in the community, including biology students. One of the factors that can affect participation of biology students in processing waste is their self-efficacy. The aims of this study is to determine the correlation between self-efficacy with participation of biology students in processing waste. The research was conducted at State University of Jakarta on May 2015. Survey method with correlational studies used in this research, andit took 116 biology students which were taken by simple random sampling. after prerequisites was tested, it was found that data of this research was nomally distributed and homogeneous. The simple regression equation is Ŷ = 35,04 + 0,74X. Correlation coefficient obtained is 0,68 which means that there is a correlation between self-efficacy with participation of biology students in waste processing. Self-efficacy biology students contributed a total of 46.11% in the participation of waste management.

The learning process in schools hasn’t been able to cultivate the habit of thinking in high levels, one of which is creative thinking. This skill can be improved by the-teaching-with-analogies model. The research aimed to know the effect of the teaching-with-analogies model application to students creative thinking. This research was done at Labschool Jakarta Junior High School on May 2014. Samples in the research were VII A, VII B, VII E and VII F with purposive sampling. Samples were decided by simple random sampling, which had 30 students from each class. The methods used quasi experiment with posttest-only control design. Based on calculation, the average score of student in experiment class was 80 and the average score of student in control class was 72. Normality test was tested by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogenity test was tested by F-test. Based on calculation, the data from experiment were normally distributed and homogeny. This research showed that implementation of the-teaching-withanalogies model has affected to creative thinking skills of student on junior high school.

Understanding about narcotics, psychotropics, and addictive substances is beneficial to prevent drugs abuse among students. One of the ways to provide knowledge about this topic may be done by counseling. This research was aimed to know the effect of narcotics, psychotropics, and addictive substances counseling toward students’ knowledge about drug abuse. The study was conducted in SMK Negeri 34 Jakarta during May 2012 using an experimental method. Simulation method was performed in experimental class whether speech method was applied in control group. This research design was pretest-posttest control group using multiple choice knowledge test instrument. Samples were selected by simple random sampling. Normality testing of the Kolmogorov Smirnov test and homogeneity testing of t-test showed a normal distribution and homogenous data. Meanwhile, hypothesis testing done by t-test at α = 0.05 result was t table < t count < ttable at -3.23 < -0.67 < 2.03, meaning that there was no effect of narcotics, psychotropics, and addictive substances counseling toward students knowledge about drugs abuse.

Mangrove is a coastal ecosystem that has been severely damaged because of irresponsible people. One of the ways to overcome this problem is by carrying out mangrove plantation program. Conservation knowledge is important to form a good perception about the activity. This research was aimed to know the correlation between conservation knowledge and fisherman perception about mangrove plantation activity. It was held on Kampung Garapan, Desa Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang, Banten on June 2012 using a descriptive survey method of Correlation Study. A total of 40 fishermen were selected by simple random sampling. Instruments of conservation knowledge test and fisherman perception were used to obtain data. The mean score of conservation knowledge and fisherman perception were 81.75 and 69.02, respectively. Prerequisite test using normality test of kolmogorov-Smirnov showed a normal result while homogeneity test of F-test showed a non homogenous data. The Spearman Rank correlation coefficient was 0.049 showing a very weak correlation. As the result, it can be concluded that there was a correlation between conservation knowledge and fisherman perception about the mangrove plantation activities.

Healthy environment is a basic need for toddlers to have a normal growth and development. Living around a landfill area will greatly impact to their morbidity and mortality rate. Although this condition may not be avoidable, it is assumed that maternal knowledge about toddler health influenced by maternal education level may be an important factor to keep their toddlers healthy. The aim of this study was to know the correlation between housewives education level and maternal knowledge about the toddler health. The study was conducted at RW 04 Kelurahan Kedaung Wetan, Tangerang from May to June 2013. A descriptive correlational with survey technique was applied in this study using 69 housewives with toddler who were selected by simple random sampling. An instrument consists of 27 points of true and false statements was used to obtain data. A strong correlation between housewives education levels and maternal knowledge about toddler health with correlation coefficient of 0.79 resulted from this study. As the conclusion, the housewives education level gave 62.4% contribution to maternal knowledge about toddler health.

A serious environmental problem has occurred due to the negative impact of household waste. Lack of knowledge and awareness of waste processing must be improved through an effective counseling method provided for housewives. The aim of this research was to determine different counseling methods about garbage toward housewives knowledge about processing of the household waste. This research carried out on Kampung Pulo, Jakarta Timur on April 2013. A quasi-experiment method with a randomized control group pretest-posttest design was used. Counseling methods of demonstration and movie display were given in two different groups as the treatment. Instrument of knowledge test was used to collect data. The normality testing of Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the Homogeneity testing of F-test at α = 0.05 resulted a normal distribution and homogenous data. The hypothesis testing of t-test showed t count > t table on 3.34 > 2.03 which rejected the H0, meaning that different knowledge level about processing of the household waste obtained from different method of counseling. It is concluded that, demonstration method was more effective than movie display to increase the housewives knowledge about processing of the household waste.

Managing soils is a beneficial effort allowing plants to grow and have dense fruit as well as to avoid them from damaging. Lack of knowledge about soil management may be related to poor soil management performance. To identify differences on farmers knowledge about managing soils based on their educational degree and participation in farmer group organization, this research was conducted on Villages of Sukatani, Cianjur and Wates Jaya, Bogor from November to December 2012. A descriptive method with survey technique was used. Knowledge score using a multiple-choice test was obtained from 89 samples selected by simple random sampling. In prerequisite testing, data was found homogenous but in abnormal distribution. Therefore, the hypothesis testing then was carried out with non-parametric tests. The average comparative rate of farmers knowledge based on educational degree using the Kruskal-Wallis test showed a non significant differences (p > α at 0.393 > 0.05). This occurred because farmers gained the knowledge through parental manner. Similarly, the average comparative rate of farmers knowledge based on their participation in farmers organization using the Mann-Whitney U test also showed a non-significant differences (p > α at 0.770 > 0.05). This happened because the farmers did not receive information delivered by the organization appropriately or they did not use the organization as a source of information in managing the soils. As the conclusion, educational degree and participation in organization did not cause differences to farmers knowledge of soil management.

Learning strategy is an important key for successful learning process. Inappropriate learning strategy causing student to get bored easily, more passive, and loss focus on the learning topic. ARIAS (Learning Strategy of Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assessment, and Satisfaction) is a learning strategy encouraging student to learn biology in fun and interesting ways by which higher learning result may be achieved. This research was conducted in MAN 8 Jakarta on November 2012 using an experimental method with posttest-only group design. An overall sample of 60 grade 10 students was selected by simple random sampling. They were divided into experimental and control groups consisted of 30 students. Instruments used in this research classified as multiple-choice questions. Based on the result, Average students cognitive learning result in experimental group treated by puzzle and control class treated by video display showed 74.03 and 61.93, respectively. Prerequisite testing of Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and F-test showed a normal and homogenous data. The hypothesis testing conducted by t-test at confidence level of 95% showed that t value > t table at 1.91 > 1.67, which rejected the null hypothesis. Therefore, it can be concluded that application of ARIAS learning strategy with puzzle has better effect on students cognitive learning result than with video display.
