Abstract

This research was initiated by the idea of making building materials and/or building components/parts into sources of electrical energy, especially on the roof and walls of buildings. Building roofs and walls have the potential as a means of utilizing solar energy into electrical energy with a thermoelectric generator (TEG) converter. Therefore, the aim of this research is to obtain the performance of thermoelectric generators with series and parallel circuits as power generators on the walls of building models. The research methodology used is experimental which begins with designing research equipment consisting of a building model frame and a thermoelectric system arrangement. In this research, a series and parallel TEG circuit was compared. Both sets of TEG systems have aluminum attached to absorb heat from the sun on the hot side of the TEG and a water block made of aluminum is attached to the cold side of the TEG. Styrofoam is attached to the surrounding sides between the TEG modules as a thermal insulator. The parameters in this research consist of independent variables, moderator variables and dependent variables. The independent variables are the temperature of the hot side of the TEG and the temperature of the cold side of the TEG. The moderator variables are good water temperature, water discharge, water temperature entering the waterblock, water temperature leaving the waterblock. Meanwhile, the dependent variables are electric current strength, electric voltage, electric power, and TEG efficiency. The research results showed that the maximum electric current was 0.54 A and the maximum electric voltage was 0.08 V. The maximum electric power as output power from the TEG system was 0.0432 W and the average thermoelectric efficiency was 4%.

Abstract

Solar energy is energy that is classified as new and renewable energy. Utilization of solar radiation energy into clean electrical energy through solar panels. This study uses solar panels that are integrated with thermoelectric modules. This study aims to improve the performance of solar panels that have been hybridized with thermoelectric generators arranged in parallel. The method used in this study is experimental, starting with the design and manufacture of research tools. The research tool is a model of a building whose roof has a slope of 30o and is equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a set of solar panels, a thermoelectric generator, and a cooling system that allows the thermoelectric generator to be cooled. The hybrid device includes two different systems. The first system, a solar panel with a thermoelectric generator, is assembled using a separate rack, so the solar panel with a thermoelectric generator is located on a separate rack. The second system, solar panels and thermoelectric generators are assembled into an integrated circuit on the same rack. The variables measured in this study are the intensity of sunlight, ambient temperature, solar panel temperature (top and bottom), water temperature, wind speed, humidity, thermoelectric generator temperature, open circuit voltage (Voc), maximum voltage, short circuit current (Isc), and maximum current. The research results show that the efficiency of hybridization with a combined rack system has an average of 18.3%, while with a separate rack system the efficiency is lower with an average of 14.7%. Based on this, hybridization using a fused rack system is more efficient than a separate rack system.

Abstract

Kyphosis is a physical disorder that occurs in the human spine. This symptom is characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine. For this reason, one of the healing therapies is needed, namely a kyphosis brace. This brace is designed and made by applying the reverse engineering method. The design begins with a scanning process using a 3D scanner. Then continued with the process of redrawing the body shape with reference to the image from the 3D scanner results. This redrawing process uses Autodesk Fusion software with various features including modify edit form, modify subdivide, modify merge edge, and symmetry. A kyphosis brace design is produced that can be continued to be produced to the next stage by 3D Printer.

Abstract

The air conditioning machine used at Head office BKN is air-cooled chiller machine. This chiller machine works by utilizing a vapor compression cycle. The four main components in the vapor compression cycle are: compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator. The vapor compression cycle will run repeatedly as long as the chiller machine is activated. The problem with this cycle is that when the chiller machine is deactivated, the liquid refrigerant (R134A) will return to the compressor, which can cause leaks/clogging. To keep the chiller in normal condition, a solenoid valve is installed between the evaporator flow and the compressor. A solenoid valve is an electromagnetic valve that functions to control the flow of air or water. In this research, tests were carried out on chiller machines that had solenoid valves installed and those that had not been installed. Abstract

Static solar panel systems have limitations in optimally capturing energy due to the sun's continuously changing position throughout the day. This study aims to design a single-axis solar tracking system on the altitude axis using the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) method through MATLAB software. The dataset, consisting of time variables (month, day, hour, and minute) as input and the sun's altitude angle as output, was obtained from the timeanddate.com website. The ANFIS processing focused on minimizing error in the form of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). The results showed that the ANFIS approach achieved an RMSE of 0.51 for training data and 0.56 for testing data. This system can accurately predict the sun's altitude angle, supporting the development of single-axis solar tracking systems.

Abstract

Goalkeepers need to practice their abilities in protecting the goal. Coaches often use ball throwing machines to train goalkeepers because the machine's throwing power tends to be stable and more controllable than humans. The current ball throwing machine still requires human assistance to pick up the ball from the floor, making the machine still very dependent on humans in picking up the ball. This research aims to design a ball throwing machine that has the additional capability of being able to pick up the ball from the floor and then throw it into the goal. By using rotating rubber cylinders, futsal balls that are on the ground can be picked up by the machine and then pushed to the throwing wheel. The torque and high rpm motor on the throwing wheel is capable of throwing the ball up to a distance of 4 meters. By using a combination of 4 omni wheels, a ball throwing machine can be built that is capable of moving with 3 degrees of freedom, namely forward-backward, turning right-left, and sliding right-left.

Abstract

Overall health depends on mental health or psychological well-being. Mental and physical well being are equally vital. One in two young people under the age of 25 will experience mental health issues at some point, and 75% of mental illnesses begin before the age of 25. Female university students are among those at the highest risk for mental health issues. Typically, students in their early and final semesters experience a high level of academic anxiety. One of the main factors causing psychological distress in students is the final project or thesis. This study aims to classify mental health levels, namely stress and anxiety, by training a classification model that makes use of the Support Vector Machine algorithm. The dataset used in this study is derived from a questionnaire distributed to final-year female students working on their thesis. The dataset consists of 249 records and is divided into two datasets for stress and anxiety classification. The results of this study show the highest accuracy in the stress classification dataset using the RBF and polynomial kernels, reaching 68% with the RBF kernel at gamma 1 and C 100. Meanwhile, the highest accuracy in the anxiety classification dataset reached 50% achieved with the polynomial kernel at degree 3 and C 100. The application of the best model indicates that the most influential features in the Stress and Anxiety datasets are Literature Review, Support System, and Analysis Method.  The obtained accuracy can be used as a standard for upcoming studies using more complex data.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze user sentiment towards the ShopeePay application using the Naïve Bayes and SVM algorithms with data obtained through web scraping. Of the 1500 data obtained through scraping, 63 empty data were removed in the cleaning process, leaving 1437 data. This data was then divided into a training set (1149 data) and a test set (288 data). The results showed that the Naïve Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy of 84.38%, a precision of 79.73%, a recall of 88.72%, and an F1-score of 83.99%, while the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm achieved an accuracy of 80.56%, a precision of 84.07%, a recall of 71.43%, and an F1-score of 77.24%. Overall, Naïve Bayes performed better than Support Vector Machine, especially Naïve Bayes was superior in detecting positive sentiment, while SVM was better in detecting negative sentiment. Data visualization shows that out of 1437 users, around 52.7% gave positive reviews and 47.3% negative reviews, with a diverse rating distribution from users. Based on this distribution, the ShopeePay application user experience can be categorized as predominantly positive, with a difference of 5.4% indicating the difference between 52.7% positive reviews and 47.3% negative reviews from ShopeePay application users.

Abstract

By studying investment, it will make a significant impact on future economic development, both or individually. Even so, there are not a few students who are less fond of and active in studying investment because of system that making students easily distorted by other content. With advances technology, using website as learning media is a powerfull way to attract students to study investment materials. “Jago-Investasi” website aims to develop investment skills, especially for stundents of Faculty of Business and Economy Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA (UHAMKA), so that students can easily take advantage of this website as learning material that focuses on investment without distortion while studying materials. The Design method used in this design is waterfall, there are four stages required, namely Requirements Analysis, System Design, Implementation and Testing. With the "Jago-Investasi" website, the result provided is a learning platform for students to access materials related to investment with achieving a success rate of over 70%.

Abstract

The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has led to the birth of various platforms that enable real-time management and control of devices. One of the prominent platforms is Blynk, an application that provides two-way communication between IoT devices and users through mobile applications. This study aims to analyse the communication mechanism in the Blynk application, including the protocols used, the efficiency of data transmission, and the level of security applied. Through this study, it is analysed how Blynk communicates with various microcontroller devices such as ESP32 and ESP8266 using TCP/IP, HTTP, and MQTT protocols. In addition, this study also evaluates the level of data encryption through SSL/TLS protocols to ensure communication security in an IoT environment. By conducting experiments on IoT devices connected through the Blynk network, this research found that Blynk is able to provide responsive and secure communication, with minimal bandwidth consumption.
