al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is published by Association of Secondment Lecturers (Asosiasi Dosen DPK) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung Indonesia. Focus of al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is on publishing original empirical research articles and theoretical reviews of Islamic Studies, it covers various issues on the Islamic studies within such number of fields as Islamic Education, Islamic thought, Islamic law, political Islam, and Islamic economics from social and cultural perspectives and content analysis from al-Qur’an and Hadist.
In other than forementioned field in Islamic Studies, al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies also accepts articles which cover the topic on the cross section between Islam Studies and other scientific field, such as sociology, law, economics, and others.

<![CDATA[This research aims to determine the conduction model between the worship and rite vertically and the effect on the economic empowerment of communities sustainaglely which aimed to improve people's viable living, self-sufficient in the competitive sector of the primary sectors of public life. These results indicate that the level of spirituality and leadership of Jemaah congregation widely impact and gain the sympathy of the local Muslim community and where the congregation stands branding company. <![CDATA[The Book of Bid?yatul mujtahid whose full title is Bidâyatul mujtahid wa nihâyatul muqtashid is the work of Ibn Rushd in the field of Jurisprudence which is the most famous and most qualified when compared to his other Jurisprudence books. Basically, the view of fiqh Ibn Rushd was no different from the previous fiqh scholars in terms of the relationship between Shari'a and benefit. What distinguishes between Ibn Rushd and the others is the emphasis. If the Jurists emphasized the benefit and interests, Ibn Rushd emphasized his views on the moral side. He believes that the Shari'a was born to improve human morals. In this case El Abidi stated that Ibn Rusyd was the only Jurist who built the objectives of the Shari'a on a moral foundation (morals). Kitab Bidâyatul mujtahid yang judul lengkapnya adalah Bidâyatul mujtahid wa nihâyatul muqtashid adalah karya Ibn Rusyd dalam bidang Fikih yang paling terkenal sekaligus paling berkualitas jika dibandingkan dengan buku-buku Fikihnya yang lain. Pada dasarnya, pandangan fikih Ibn Rusyd tidak berbeda dengan para ulama fikih sebelumnya dalam hal hubungan antara syariat dengan kemaslahatan. Yang membedakan antara Ibn Rusyd dan yang lainnya adalah penekanannya saja. Jika para ahli fikih menekankan sisi kemaslahatan dan kepentingan, Ibn Rusyd menekankan pandangannya pada sisi moral. Ia berpendapat bahwa syariat itu lahir untuk memperbaiki akhlak manusia. Dalam hal ini El Abidi menyatakan bahwa Ibn Rusyd adalah satu-satunya ahli fikih yang membangun tujuan syariat di atas fondasi moral (akhlak).]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract: Islam as a religion that rahmatan lil’aalamiin still experiences a moral crisis in practice. This study aims to see how the practice of the Islamic concept of rahmatan lil’aalamiin, which, along with the development of the times, has increasingly shifted from the value of humanism. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The objects in this study are books and other documents that discuss humanism and the Islamic concept of rahmatan lil'aalamiin, by looking at how the practices that occur today. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by the author based on analysis and assessment needs. The data analysis technique used in this study is library analysis, which will be taken from several books relating to humanism and the rahmatan lil'aalamiin Islamic concept. Where the results of these studies show that Islam as a religion that rahmatan lil'aalamiin still deviates from humanism, is too narrow in thinking and not roomy, so that it is easily justified against other people who do not understand. Abstrak: Islam sebagai agama yang rahmatan lil’aalamiin masih mengalami krisis moral dalam praktiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana praktik dari konsep islam rahmatan lil’aalamiin yang seiring perkembangan zaman semakin bergeser dari nilai humanisme. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah buku-buku maupun dokumen lainnya yang membahas tentang humanisme dan konsep islam rahmatan lil’aalamiin, dengan melihat bagaimana praktik yang terjadi saat ini. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan penulis berdasarkan kebutuhan analisis dan pengkajian. Teknik Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis pustaka, dimana akan diambil dari beberapa buku yang berkaitan dengan humanisme dan konsep islam rahmatan lil’aalamiin. Dimana hasil dari penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa islam sebagai agama yang rahmatan lil’aalamiin masih banyak menyimpang dari humanisme, terlalu sempit dalam berfikir dan tidak lapang dada, sehingga dengan mudahnya menjustifikasi sesat terhadap orang lain yang tidak sefaham.]]>

<![CDATA[The term inter-religious harmony is synonymous with the term tolerance. Harmony is a term that is filled with the contents of good meaning and peace. The point is living together in society with unity of heart and agreeing not to create disputes and quarrels. Living in harmony is everyone's dream. Differences on one hand can be a strength if managed properly and professionally. However, if not, differences in worldview among multicultural nations will be a factor of nation disintegration and prolonged conflict. This article aims to find out how the strategy in building harmony among religious believers in Indonesia. The method used in this study is library research (Literature Study), which is to trace books and findings from studies of interfaith harmony. The results of this study explain that there are 6 strategies that can be carried out in building harmony between religious believers, namely internalizing tolerance, maintaining kinship (ukhuwah), mutual respect and respect, mutual trust and avoiding prejudice, clarifying and confirming the information obtained and acting fairly . <![CDATA[Organizing and personnel management is one of the most important parts in the management of educational institutions. Organizing and personnel management theories are important to run in educational institutions in order to realize organizational goals. this research aims to determine and identify the application of organizing and personnel management at Islamic High School Raudlatul Mut’allimin, which is located in Pangauban Village, Pacet District, Bandung. In this research, using qualitative approach and descriptive method. This source of information is the Head of Madrasah, the teachers and employees of the Islamic High School. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and document analysis. The results of this research showed that Organizing and personnel management at Islamic High School Raudlatul Muta’allimin is carried out through planning by setting direction and goals, setting targets, formulating who will carry out tasks, setting priority positions, identifying various problems and needs and setting criteria in the recruitment of personnel. The implementation is by creating an organizational structure, assigning personal assignments and assigning tasks and programs. As for the supervision carried out intensively, both daily monitoring, supervision, monthly meetings and meetings that are incidental. In its application, organizing and personnel management can’t be used effectively and efficiently at this Islamic High School. It identifies the need for improvements internally in many ways, including in the organizational structure, division of labor, coordination, communication and others.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menjawab pertanyaan berikut : Bagaimana Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) dapat meng-efektifitkan pendidikan ?, Bagaimana Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) dapat memenuhi harapan para stakeholder ?. Dengan mengaplikasikan pendekatan kajian pustaka (library research). Adapun metode penelitian yang dipergunakan adalah deskriptif sebab dilakukan dengan menganalisa data melalui penelaahan yang dilakukan secara intensif, mendetail, dan komprehensif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa : Pertama, pendidikan yang dikehendaki Islam yang efektif dan efisien bertujuan mengembangkan seluruh potensi peserta didik menjadi ‘hamba Allah’ yang sejati, yang berperilaku positif dan kontributif buat diri dan lingkungannya. Kedua, Manajemen Pendidikan Islam (MPI) memenuhi harapan para stakeholder, sekolah mampu memfasilitasi proses pendidikan dengan cara menjalin kerjasama yang efektif dalam upaya mengembangkan proses pendidikan yang benar dan berkualitas. Selain itu MPI memiliki misi ganda yaitu profit sekaligus sosial. Misi profit ini dapat dicapai dengan efektif dan efisien, untuk memperlancar operasional. Misi sosial untuk mewariskan dan menginternalisasikan nilai luhur. melalui modal human-capital dan social-capital yang memadai. melalui profesionalisme yang tinggi. <![CDATA[Implementation of habituation-based management strategies in growing the religius character of students in SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan can change the character of students more religius. The students look polite and polite in various ways. The results showed that: firstly, there was a habit-based strategy planning in growing students' religius character at SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan, namely by involving stakeholders to develop a plan for growing religius character as outlined in curriculum documents through various extra activities and subjects. Both implementations are by activating positive religius activities, such as prayer in congregation, reading short Al-Qur'an letters and Yasin letters before learning, reading prayers before and after learning, and kissing the teacher's hand. The third evaluation in the implementation of customary-based strategy management in growing the religius character of students in SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan is the supporting factors, namely; (1) there are similarities in School Rules, (2) there is support from Teachers and Stakeholders, and (3) there are adequate facilities. While the inhibiting factors namely; (1) there are differences in the character of students, (2) lack of attention from parents of students, and (3) the existence of negative community responses.]]>

<![CDATA[Islamic religious education is not solely about discussing how Muslims carry out their religious teachings, but it also discusses issues with a wider range of educational interests capable of creating human happiness and success in the world and the hereafter. For this reason, a proper education system must be created so that it can produce humanity in accordance with Islamic teachings. Reformation in Islamic education requires the contextualization of Islamic religious education in accordance with the original sources in the Qur'an and Assunnah so that there is a relevance between Islamic religious education and current situations. Although Islamic education keeps updated to the current situation, spiritual values (asceticism) and ahlakul karimah are not abandoned. The spiritual values (asceticism) in relation to Islamic religious education must be developed and taught, but how to teach and internalize them to people, especially to students, requires basic thoughts and findings so that ascetic attainment of Islamic religious education can be reached.]]>
