Abstract

Survival  analysis  is  a  statistical  technique  used  to  analyze  the  data,  aims  to determine the variables that affect the outcome of a beginning to end the incident. One model of survival is a cure model is useful for estimating the proportion of patients who recover and the probability of survival of patients who did not recover until   the   deadline   given.   Analysis   on   Cox   regression   cure   model   Hazard Proportional with Maximum Likelihood Estimates and Algorithm Expectation Maximization (EM). Keywords: Cox Proportional Hazard Cure Model, MLE, EM algorithm, likelihood ratio test, Wald test.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the practical implementation of the morphology of the plant biology education students FKIP UMS 2017/2018 school year. This research is descriptive research with the research sample is a student semester 1 Biology education UMS, which travels the eyes of practical morphology of plants taken with Taro Yamane formula to get the number of samples in overall by as much as 81 students. Data collection techniques by using question form. The results of the analysis of the data shows that in practical plant morphology, 91% of students familiar with plants/preparations are used, 53% of the students stated the time used in practical enough to complete the practical work, and from the a series of practical work each meeting there is a 65% of students who have difficulty in observing and drawing plant organs into practical report. Key words: analysis, practical plant morphology

Abstract

This type of research is Research Action class (Classroom action Research). While  the techniques and data collection tool that is the test, and observations. Mathematical literacy ability test percentage of students on a cycle I was 63% to 82% in cycle II. With the amount of the percentage increase in the students' mathematical literacy ability tests of 19%, activity levels of students learning math increases, it is retrieved from the percentage of 63% levels of math learning activities cycle I, and 82% in cycle II rose to 19% and the ability to manage teacher learning percentage of 74% in cycle I and 94% in cycle II, with an increase of 20%, and the results of this study showed that the model of learning Problem Centered Learning (PCL) can improve mathematical literacy ability of the students in class X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 West Angkola. Keywords: Problem Centered Learning (PCL) learning model, literacy

Abstract

Entomopathogenic fungi often used as bioinsecticides to control pest insects. Entomopathogenic fungi infect through penetrating cuticles of insect or inedible. Entomopathogenic fungi can be found in the rhizosphere. The purpose of this study was to explore the types of entomopathogenic fungi in various rhizosphere of horticultural plants in Padangsidimpuan. This research was conducted at the Agrotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, South Tapanuli Muhammadiyah University. The results showed that the use of Tenebrio molitor as bait, can effectively obtain entomopathogenic fungi from the soil. The highest mortality of Tenebrio molitor where infected by entomopathogenic fungi was 64% on soybean plant and the lowest mortality due to infection of entomopathogenic fungi was 11% on mustard plants. There was only one genus of entomopathogenic fungi found in this study was Metarhizium sp. Keywords: soil, Metarhizium, Tenebrio molitor, infect, moist chamber

Abstract

This research is a development research using a modification between the 4-D development model developed by Thiagarajan. The stages of this research are define, design, develop and disseminate . The development of problem-based mathematical modules at the disseminate (dissemination) was   carried out in a limited manner in schools that are the subject of research.   The   subjects   in   this   study   were   class   X   students   of   SMA   Negeri   4Padangsidimpuan. From the results of the development test: (1) problem-based mathematics modules fulfiill validity criteria with valid predicates, (2) the problem-based mathematics modules was practical based on revised and interview results from the expert teams, and (3) this  problem-based  mathematics modules was effective to used based on observations the time ideal of percentage achievemen , the results of the mathematical problem solving ability test fulfill classical completeness, that was 80% of the test subjects, and (4) the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills by using the module from test I to trial II and fulfill the classical completeness. Keywords:  Development,  Problem  Based  Mathematics  Module,  Mathematical  ProblemSolving Ability

Abstract

This research is a research experiment, with the entire population of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 11 Padangsidimpuan which consists of 3 classes. Sampling in this research is done by using the technique of cluster sample, which of the engineering cluster sample. Data analysis techniques include test normality, test its homogeneity and test hypotheses. Hypothesis testing is carried out by two roads at anava extent confidence α = 0.05. The results of the analysis on two path with cell anava not same retrieved F_a = F_tabel =18,51 with 1,079. Furthermore the research results obtained from the average of 78.00 experiment class while the average classroom control now and results at 71.96 class experiment 4.15 while 3.48 control class. The descriptive data analysis used in the observation activities of the students and the students answer patterns.   Observation results acquired the levels of activity of the students in the class of experiment of 75.81% with good qualifications while at 67.81% control classes with qualified enough. As for the pattern of experimental  class  students  answer  better  than  the  class  of  the  control.  Based  on  the research results, it is recommended to apply the cooperative learning model type of the talking stick. Keywords: the talking stick, creative thinking, research experiment

Abstract

Elementary school sixth-grade students still experience misconceptions fractions causing low student mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to find out the student's misconceptions in the fraction material. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects studied were 6 grade VI elementary school students, 2 subjects with high mathematical ability levels, 2 subjects with moderate mathematical ability levels, and 2 subjects with low mathematical ability levels. Data collection  methods  used  were  interviews  and  multiple-choice  tests  based  on  fraction material. The results of the study stated: (1) The students' dominant misconceptions in the concept of calculating fraction distribution operations. (2) Misconceptions experienced by students with high mathematical abilities are less than students with moderate and low mathematical abilities. With this research, the teacher can find out the students' misconceptions in the subject matter fractions and the teacher can be more maximal in teaching the concept of fractions. Keywords: Misconception, Fraction Material, Mathematical Ability

Abstract

This study  aims to discussed  about Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method (DRBEM) with a predictor-corrector for steady infiltration problems with impermeabel layer with root water uptake in homogeneous soils. Steady infiltration in homogeneous soils is governed by Richard equation. This equation is transformed using a set of transformation including Khirchoff, dimensionless variabels and dimensionless parameters into a type of modified Helmholtz equation. Furthermore with DRBEM, numerical solution of modified Helmholtz equation obtained. The proposed method is tested on problem involved infiltration from rectangular and trapezoidal channels with impermeabel layer with root water uptake. Keyword : infiltration, root water uptake, modified Helmholtz equation, Richard equation, DRBEM

Abstract

Abstract:  This  action  research  aims to  describe  the understanding  of  students'  science concepts and describe the teacher's ability to manage learning on the actual problems of learning  in  the  classroom  by  applying  problem-based  learning  models.  The  research subjects  were  students  of  class  VII-4  totaling  44  people  and  1  science  teacher.  This classroom action research is carried out in two cycles, each of which consists of the stages of planning, implementing actions, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the ability of students to understand the concept in the first cycle was 59.09%, and in the second cycle there was an increase with a percentage of 86.36%. While the ability of teachers in the first cycle the average score of 3.1 and in the second cycle there was an improvement in learning practices so that an increase in the average score (3.8). Keywods: concept understanding, management of learning, problem based learning

Abstract

Candida albicans dan Pityrosporum fungal caused micosis infections such as candidiasis and dandruff. The altervative medicine as antifungal bioactive substance is obtained from Bulbus Allium cepa L. exstract. The ekstraction of Bulbus Allium cepa L. has held by maserasi technic using etanol 96% as a solvent. The phytochem skrining result of the Bulbus Allium cepa L. extract is composed by alkaloid, flavanoid, tannin, and saponin compound. The test of these extract as antifungal is held by disk diffusion method with concentration variation of the extract is 50 %, 75%, and 100% (w/v). The extraction variation of the extract is implemented to inhibitory test and the result of the test to Candida albicans is 13,5 mm ; 16 mm ; 19 mm respectively and 12 mm ; 15 mm ; 17 mm to Pityrosporum . Base on the data ( zone diameter test of those fungal ) is concluded the extract of Aulbus Allium Cepa L. has a strong category inhibitory test. Keywords : Allium cepa, Candida albicans and Pityrosporum ovale
