Abstract

The determination of the thesis supervisor is very important to note for maximizing the results of the thesis. In the process of completing the thesis, students are usually assisted by a supervisor to direct the completion of the thesis. In determining the supervising lecturer, it must be very concerned, especially according to the field. The determination of the supervisor is determined by the Head of the Study Program, the work must be considered so that it takes time to adjust the thesis title and the expertise of the lecturer. The system that is needed is the Decision Support System for Determining Thesis Supervisors. Making this system starts from observing and searching data, analyzing data to determine aspects and criteria, then design the application flow, database design, design the user interface and then build the system with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and MySQL applications for its database. The final result of this research is to produce a decision support system to determine the thesis supervisor by applying the profile matching method.

Abstract

To supporting daily activities, humans are dependent on the technology. All these activities can take place well if there is a technology that can connect with each other. This technology is called the internet network. For that we need a special management that can regulate the condition of a network to have good quality. Because network quality will affect the productivity of a person. For this reason, we need a standard for measuring network quality known as Quality Of Service (QoS) to maintain the quality of Qos services by monitoring network traffic. In this study, an internet network service on an X topology will be tested. The result is that using QoS analysis produces a number of delays in good categories, the number of packet loss in good categories in scenarios 1 and 2, and the moderate category in scenario 3 and the number low inputput so that it has a good category in scenarios 1, 2 and 3. Based on this condition it can draw the conclusion that the number of delays is directly proportional to the number of packet loss, so that the higher the delay, the more the number of packet loss. While the number of delay and packet loss is inversely proportional to the amount of input in a network condition. So if the lower delay and packet loss, the resulting output will be higher. Keywords: QoS Analysis, Network Topology, Delay, Packet Loss, Troughtput

Abstract

Competence is the ability or skill possessed through a learning process that is correct in accordance with interests and talents and functions in deciding and doing something in a particular field in the right way. Someone who has competency will be competent in a field, so that the knowledge, skills, talents and interests that are in accordance with the activities / work carried out. Students who have competence will tend to be easier to find and determine the type of work that is available. Because the competencies possessed are in accordance with the type of world needs of employment, in addition, when students have competencies it is also easy to find and join groups that are in accordance with their competencies, thus helping in the learning process and job info.Keywords : Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Competence, Students, EmploymentKompetensi adalah kemampuan atau kecakapan yang dimiliki melalui proses belajar yang benar sesuai dengan minat dan bakat dan berfungsi dalam memutuskan dan melakukan sesuatu dalam bidang tertentu dengan cara yang benar. Seseorang yang memiliki kompetensi akan kompeten dalam suatu bidang, sehingga pengetahuan, keterampilan, bakat dan minat yang ada sesuai dengan kegiatan/pekerjaan yang dilakukan. Mahasiswa yang memiliki kompetensi akan cenderung lebih mudah untuk mencari dan menentukan jenis pekerjaan yang ada. Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan Pembelajaran berbantuan GeoGebra dan Pembelajaran Konvensional pada pokok bahasan Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel di kelas VIII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu, dimana dari dua kelas yang dipilih sebagai sampel yaitu kelas VIIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIIB sebagai kontrol. Dari hasil analisis statistik dengan uji t yang telah dilakukan terhadap kedua kelas maka diperoleh hasil dengan taraf signifikan α = 0,05 diperoleh thitung = 3,855. Selanjutnya thitung dikonsultasikan dengan ttabel  dengan dk = 58 diperoleh ttabel = 1,672 ternyata thitung > ttabel hal ini berarti H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil perhitungan tersebut dapat diketahui adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan Pembelajaran berbantuan GeoGebra dan pembelajaran Konvensional pada pokok bahasan Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel di kelas VIII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Medan.  Dari hasil perhitungan skor rata-rata untuk kedua kelas diperoleh sebagai berikut: pada kelas eksperimen, pada tes akhir diperoleh  = 80,50, SD1 = 13,39. Pada kelas kontrol pada tes akhir diperoleh  = 68,00, SD2 = 12,70. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbantuan GeoGebra lebih tinggi dari hasil belajar siswa yang diajar dengan Pembelajaran Konvensional.

Abstract

This study aims to melakukakan analysis of the effect of the transaction log on a computer based system either on a single system tired, and two tiered through simulated transactions bank system with technology client / server to get a log of transactions on the database system Microsoft Windows SQL Server 2008 R2 management studio a data base. Methods or algorithms are used to analyze the transaction log on the system used is a log-based recovery algorithm.The results based on the analysis, showed that the use of query local database and query the database using sotere procedure to get the transaction log for troubleshooting transactions on the database system via a user interface  is built to help job database administrator (DBA), much more good compared with conventional systems. Based on the experiments that the log of transactions to be controlled, in-undo, Re-do, or Rolled-Back, even deleted if no longer required automatically to maintain the scalability of computer users in the future, by setting the growth of a standard database from 10% to > 32%, and the establishment of a maintenance schedule to ensure that the reserve database is always available and up to date. Keywords : transaction log analysis, computer-based systems, simulated bank system, client / server two-tiered, SQL Server database.

Abstract

The development of computer technology is very fast, both in terms of hardware and software as well as application packages that are used as a tool to process data and provide detailed, accurate and efficient information. To design, create and implement an information system in the data collection of teaching and learning schedules is very important in the world of education, because it facilitates and facilitates data processing activities, data search related to the learning schedule needed in decision making. Raksana Medan Private High School has a problem in managing scheduling because it still uses a manual scheduling system. Abstract

PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk (IDX: ASSA) adalah salah satu perusahaan layanan transportasi di Indonesia yang menyediakan layanan transportasi yang mencakup penyewaan kendaraan untuk korporasi, logistik, layanan juru mudi, serta penjualan mobil bekas.Berdasarkan penelitian pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan, maka masalah yang dihadapi perusahaan adalah sebagai berikut :"Apakah terdapat hubungan antara pengembangan karyawan dengan motivasi kerja karyawan?". Hipotesayang dikemukakan sehubungan dengan masalah tersebut adalah : "pengembangan karyawan berhubungan dengan motivasi kerja karyawan ".Metode analisis data yang digunakan dengan dua metode, yaitu : MetodeDeskriptif; yaitu mengumpulkan, mengklasifikasikan dan mengintrepretasikan data sesuai dengan yang sebenarnya dan Metode Deduktif; adalah suatu penarikan kesimpulan khusus berdasarkan teori-teori yang diterima sebagai suatu kebenaran umum mengenai fakta yang diamati.  Dari hasil analisis dan evaluasi diperoleh kesimpulan sebagai berikut :1.Pengembangan karyawan PT. Assa Rent telah membuat karyawan mampu mengembangkan diri sedemikian rupa.Ini berarti bahwa banyak pengembangan karyawan yang diikuti karyawan atau yang dilaksanakan perusahaan lebih banyak yang bersifat umum dibandingkan yang khusus. 2.Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengembangan karyawan dengan motivasi kerja karyawan di PT. Assa Rent. Ini berarti bahwa peningkatan kualitas pelaksanaan pengembangan karyawan kerja diperusahaan tersebut akan meningkatkan motivasi kerja. Dari penelitian ini juga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hal tersebut merupakan factor yang dominan mempengaruhi motivasi kerja karyawan. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan Karyawan, Motivasi Kerja

Abstract

Analytic Network Process (ANP) is a method used to find the optimal alternative of a number of alternatives to certain criteria. Selection or the process is done by evaluating the media campaign by distributing questionnaires to students to find out what media will be evaluated further by choosing 4 media campaigns, determines the criteria and sub-criteria by distributing questionnaires to the Chairman of STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan, Wakil Ketua III of Student and Promotion Affairs and Chairman of Promotion Affairs, further it is performed data processing with the assistance from Super Decisions 2.4.0 software. Which the highest rating obtained results of the analysis and discussion shows that the Internet (0.329).This study concludes that for the promotion media selection of STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan, Analystic Network Process (ANP) method can be applied with the use of Super Decision 2.4.0. Software, And from the results of questionnaire data processing distributed in the management of STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan namely Chairman STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan, Wakil Ketua III Student Affairs and Promotion, and Chairman of the Promotion STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan, and application of Analystic Network Process (ANP) methods with the use of Super Decisions 2.4.0 Software produces the highest rank of media namely the Internet (0.329), followed by Visits to Schools (0.274), Radio (0.213), and Banners / Billboards (0.185).Keywords: Selection of Promotion Media, criteria, evaluation, Super Decisions 2.4.0.

Abstract

The results in this research show that the use of authentic materials is effective to improve the students’ reading comprehension. The use of these materials is effective when they were used together with authentic tasks which provide communicative activities. After the actions were implemented, the students showed some improvements. They could focus on the lesson and actively participated in the teaching and learning process. They got familiar with some reading strategies and could apply them. They were able to scan the detail information of the texts, deduce the meaning of unfamiliar words and understand information when not explicitly stated. They had more interest and motivation in reading. All the various activities made the class atmosphere enjoyable. Key Words: Reading comprehension, authentic material

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh diskusi belajar matematika dalam hal ini mata kuliah Kalkulus 1 pada Mahasiswa Semester 1 STMIK Pelita Nusantara Medan.Sampel penelitian ini diambil dari kelas semester 1 yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok dengan jumlah siswa masing-masing 18 orang.Salah satu kelompok dijadikan sebagai kelompok eksperimen yaitu kelas yang melaksanakan diskusi belajar kelompok dan satu kelas lagi dijadikan kelompok kontrol tanpa diskusi kelompok. Adanya pengaruh diskusi belajar matematika dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar dalam hal kalkulus 1 .Mahasiswa mengerjakan instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian non objektif sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakukan berupa diskusi belajar matematika untuk kelas eksperimen.Jenis penelitian ini eksperimen semu, maka sebagai langkah awal dilakukan pre test pada kedua kelompok kemudian perlakuan berupa diskusi belajar matematika pada kelas eksperimen dan tanpa diskusi pada kelas kontrol, dan selanjutnya diberikan post test. Mean dan Standart deviasi kelompok eksperimen adalah 8,2 dan 0,11 sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol adalah 6,439 dan 0,092.Berdasarkan analisis data uji hipotesis penelitian diperoleh harga thitung  = 1,438 untuk a = 0,05 dan dk = 16 adalah 1,746. Dalam hal ini t hitung ada diantara - t(1-1/2a)<t < t (1-1/2a) maka Ho diterima yang berarti diskusi belajar matematika berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa semester 1 STMIK Pelita NusantaraMedan. Kata Kunci : Diskusi Kelompok, Statistika Parametrik.
