Abstract

Fluctuating demand and diverse products pose significant challenges for supply chain management in manufacturing, leading to production disruptions and increased costs. This study aims to optimize the supply chain of the industrial machinery sector through demand forecasting with artificial neural networks (ANN). Demand data covering 24 months for three products—water tanks, mixer machines, and conveyors—were analyzed using time series clustering based on autocorrelation and complete linkage. Stationarity was tested using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) and Box-Cox transformation prior to modeling. The ANN was trained with a learning rate of 0.001, 20 hidden neurons, and PACF-based lag inputs. Results showed that cluster one achieved a MAPE below 30%, indicating strong predictive accuracy, while cluster two achieved a MAPE below 50%, considered acceptable. Predictions for the 25th month from cluster one are recommended for inventory planning. The study demonstrates that ANN-based forecasting effectively supports decision-making and enhances supply chain optimization in multi-product manufacturing.

Abstract

Agribusiness companies face challenges in green supplier selection due to subjective judgments and information gaps. To address these linguistic ambiguity and subjective uncertainties, this study develops a hybrid MCDM framework integrating the α-cut based Fuzzy BWM and Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy MABAC (IVIF-MABAC). F-BWM α-cut derives stable weights from linguistic preferences, and IVIF-MABAC provides robust ranking by handling hesitancy. This approach, novel for the Indonesian tropical fruit sector, involved three experts (academic, manager, consultant) via questionnaires and FGDs. Results show Product Quality and Transparency & Traceability are critical. The 4th Green Supplier consistently achieved the highest ranking. The framework offers managers a reliable tool, enhancing sustainability and competitiveness within tropical fruit supply chains.

Abstract

Integrating environmental considerations into supply chain performance measurement has become increasingly critical, growing sustainability and corporate responsibility. In the textile industry, particularly the non-woven sector, complex activities and mounting environmental pressures underscore the need for sustainability-oriented evaluation. The company lacks a supply chain performance measurement system that considers environmental aspects, creating a research gap that this study addresses. This study evaluates supply chain performance by embedding environmental dimensions into the measurement framework. The research was conducted in four stages: (1) identifying indicators through the Content Validity Index; (2) weighting indicators using the Analytic Hierarchy Process; (3) assessing performance with the Objective Matrix; and (4) classifying priorities through the Traffic Light System. A total of 22 validated indicators were applied, including three green indicators: Recycled Material Usage, Reusable Material, and Truck Load Optimization Rate. Recycled Material Usage was introduced as a novel indicator and validated as contextually significant for industrial supply chains. Results show a 2024 performance score of 5.678, classified as yellow under the Traffic Light System with five indicators as critical priorities for improvement. This study provides a regular monitoring tool that enables managers to establish a sustainable supply chain.

Abstract

This study aims to design a system dynamics model to analyze and improve sugarcane-based procurement at PT Sukses Mantap Sejahtera (PT SMS). The model integrates three subsystems—plantation, production, and demand—to represent the interactions among supply sources, milling capacity, and regional sugar needs. Model validation using Theil's Inequality Statistics confirms the simulation results with actual data, indicating that most deviations arise from random noise rather than systematic bias. Five policy scenarios were designed to enhance system performance: (1) increasing sugarcane prices, (2) introducing subsidies for machinery rental and fertilizers, (3) improving sugarcane yield to 7.68%, (4) expanding livestock routes in the nucleus estate to 210 hectares, and (5) combining Scenarios 2, 3, and 4. Scenario 5 demonstrates the best performance, increasing sugarcane and WCS production by 4.06% and 8.32% annually. By 2030, sugarcane reaches 510,396.56 tons (+6.74%) with 68.05% milling utilization, producing 39,198.46 tons of WCS (+12.14%) and meeting 64.91% of demand in Eastern Indonesia. These results underscore the importance of integrated management, stakeholder collaboration, and Good Agricultural Practices.

Abstract

The Fast-Moving Consumer Goods [FMCG] industry plays a strategic role in the Indonesian economy, where raw material logistics management remains a key challenge directly impacting production efficiency and competitiveness. This study analyzes the logistics performance of raw material suppliers at an Instant Noodle Company to identify performance patterns and their impact on operational efficiency using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method across three main categories: seasoning, seasoning and vegetable oil, and packaging over one year. The results reveal significant variations in supplier performance, with the seasoning category showing substantial improvements in Cikampek and Semarang facilities correlating with increased production, while Surabaya experienced a notable decline. The seasoning and vegetable oil category demonstrated stable performance despite minor production fluctuations, whereas the packaging category revealed consistent performance deterioration among key suppliers, negatively affecting production capacity. The findings indicate that supplier performance directly influences logistics efficiency and production capacity. This study recommends supplier development programs, performance monitoring systems, and supplier portfolio diversification to enhance consistency and competitiveness in the FMCG sector.

Abstract

Building projects continue to experience persistent cost overruns, quality inconsistency, and schedule slippage, indicating a lack of integrated managerial mechanisms that translate control practices into sustainable performance outcomes. An integrated monitoring model is empirically tested using SEM–PLS based on survey data from 263 construction practitioners, triangulated with operational project records including Earned Value Management, S-curve analysis, and BIM 4D/5D outputs. The results demonstrate that DES exerts a strong influence on cost and quality performance, COM is the dominant driver of quality stability with indirect cost effects, and SCH is the primary determinant of time performance. The framework contributes by linking managerial control practices to measurable sustainability outcomes, offering a practical project-control architecture particularly relevant for developing-country construction contexts.
