Abstract

Clean water is an important aspect of the human body, around 60-70% of the total composition of other elements. The availability of drinking water of adequate quality is a primary human need to maintain health and well-being, however, there is a lot of drinking water that is not suitable for consumption according to its suitability. The supply of clean water is also starting to run low while the use of clean water is increasing. The aim of designing this monitoring system is to produce a tool that can monitor water quality. This system was created using other devices including Arduino Mega 2560, Esp32 microcontroller, turbidity sensor, TDS meter sensor, flow meter sensor, and float switch sensor and using the Internet. Things with Blynk as the notification output and LCD as the display. This system is expected to help users find out the quality of the water they use. Keywords: Clean water, ESP32, Turbidity, TDS Meter, Flow Meter

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the utilization of rice straw waste into biogas by mixing chicken manure to achieve an ideal C/N ratio of 30. The method used in the anaerobic fermentation process uses SuperPro Designer software simulation and compares good biogas production from mesophilic temperatures (350C) and thermophilic (550C). The results of the research show that 4,000 kg of rice straw used to achieve a C/N ratio of 30 requires a mixture of 1,455 kg of chicken. Biogas potential from a mixture of rice straw and chicken manure with a C/N ratio of 30 at a temperature of 55°C produces the highest volume of biogas, reaching 617,887 m³, with a methane content of 81.83%. The increase in biogas yield of 20.15% at thermophilic temperatures compared to mesophilic temperatures shows that high temperatures increase the efficiency of biogas production. This research found the potential of rice straw as a sustainable biogas raw material with a C/N ratio of 30 with a thermophilic temperature that influences biogas production and the electrical energy produced. Keywords: Rice Straw, C/N Ratio, Temperature, Biogas

Abstract

The chemical and process industries require precise control systems to manage critical parameters, such as the pH level in solutions, especially in the treatment of acidic liquid waste. One of the main challenges in this industry is the effective neutralization of acidic waste to prevent damage to the environment and infrastructure. IoT-based pH sensors offer an innovative solution by enabling real-time, remote monitoring and control of pH levels. With IoT integration, pH sensor data can be accessed directly, improving operational efficiency and decision-making accuracy. Furthermore, automatic pH regulation based on collected data minimizes human error and enhances safety. In testing, the ultrasonic and TDS sensors integrated with relay and motor pump modules demonstrated 100% accuracy in controlling devices based on distance and TDS values. The entire system operated with a very low error percentage, confirming its reliability for application in the chemical industry. Keywords: Internet of Things (IoT), pH sensor, pH control, liquid waste, ultrasonic sensor, TDS sensor, automation, chemical industry

Abstract

The Construction Safety Management System (CSMS) is a system designed to ensure safety in the execution of construction projects. This study aims to identify the factors influencing CSMS implementation (X) and analyze the dominant factors affecting project performance, measured by quality improvement (Y1), time reduction (Y2), and cost reduction related to work-related incidents or illnesses (Y3). The research employs a quantitative method, collecting data through observation and questionnaires distributed to stakeholders involved in the Pasar Raya Kota Padang construction project. Out of 113 questionnaires distributed, 91 were analyzed using SPSS version 26. The results reveal that from the initial 40 variables, five new factors were formed, comprising 26 variables that influence project performance. The most dominant factor is Responsibility, Management, and Compliance with Construction Safety (X1), which significantly impacts Y1 (t-value 12.494 t-table 1.99773), Y2 (t-value 10.054 t-table 1.99773), and Y3 (t-value 9.218 t-table 1.99773). In conclusion, X1 plays a crucial role in improving quality, reducing time, and minimizing costs associated with work-related incidents in the Pasar Raya Kota Padang construction project. Keywords: Construction Safety Management System, Implementation, Project Performance

Abstract

This study analyzes the physical quality of agricultural road construction in four villages in Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, in the village fund food security program. The methods used include a questionnaire survey to measure community and village apparatus satisfaction and a Hammer Test to assess the quality of road concrete. The results of the study indicate that although the community is generally satisfied with the road construction, the quality of the concrete produced is still below the established standards (SNI 03-6468-2000 and ACI 318), with an average compressive strength value of 10 MPa. The main factors influencing the low quality of roads include a lack of technical understanding in concrete mixing, weak supervision, and limited resources in the construction process carried out independently by the community. Some common damages found include sinking, release of aggregate grains, and longitudinal cracks. Therefore, increased supervision, technical education for workers, and better road maintenance are needed so that the infrastructure built can be more durable and beneficial to the community. Keywords: Concrete Quality, Village Road Infrastructure, Community Satisfaction, Hammer Test, Construction Supervision

Abstract

The study was conducted at the SMK YATPI Godong building which has a land area of 1172 m2. 2017 to 2019 there was an increase in the number of students by 60.2%, so it is necessary to add new classrooms. Where the land area cannot be used to build classrooms horizontally, the school adds classrooms vertically by adding 1 floor to 2 floors. The study was carried out by testing the quality of concrete using the Hammer Test obtained 26.45 MPa, then modeling analysis using SAP 2000 software and manual calculations based on SNI 1729-2019. This analysis is made in 2 stages, first the initial conditions in the existing building, second the analysis of the existing structure with the additional load of the new classroom. Keywords: Structure, School Building, Hammer Test, SAP 2000

Abstract

One of the bridge projects in Kalimantan is built on soft soil. Soft soil has poor bearing capacity, low shear strength and permeability, and high compressibility. One of the substructures of the bridge project, consisting of two spun pile points, experienced failure (exceeding the allowable inclination, indications of breakage at a depth of -8,000 mm, and failure to achieve the planned bearing capacity). The failure occurred after excavation for the pile cap was carried out.The additional load from preloading embankments and a spun pile stockyard, located 20,000 mm and 15,000 mm away, caused lateral deformation in the existing soil. This lateral deformation influenced additional deformation and bending moments in the failed spun piles. An evaluation of the additional load on the spun piles was conducted using the Finite Element Method with Plaxis 2D software. The additional load from the preloading embankments and stockyard was analyzed to determine its impact on the spun piles. The analysis showed that the additional load from the preloading embankments and stockyard caused lateral deformation, leading to deformation and bending moments in the spun piles. However, this additional load alone was not sufficient to cause failure in the spun piles.
