Abstract

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong (Unamin) merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat Kabupaten Papua Barat Daya dan sekitarnya. Keberadaan kampus ini menjadi faktor penarik mahasiswa yang berasal dari berbagai daerah untuk datang memenuhi kebutuhan pendidikan. Faktor penarik ini kemudian menimbulkan adanya pergerakan menuju ke kampus. Hal ini menuntut ketersediaan beragam moda transportasi yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan mobilitas mereka. Perbedaan pilihan moda transportasi mahasiswa menuju kampus menunjukkan adanya faktor-faktor yang perlu dikaji lebih lanjut. Variable yang digunakan untuk mendukung penelitian ini yaitu karakteristik mahasiswa Unamin yang meliputi lokasi tinggal, uang saku bulanan dan kepemilikan kendaraan pribadi, serta faktor penentu pemilihan moda transportasi yang meliputi jarak menuju ke kampus, waktu tempuh dan biaya perjalanan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan alat analisis distribusi frekuensi. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan 5 moda transportasi yaitu berjalan kaki, menggunakan mobil pribadi, motor pribadi, angkutan umum dan transportasi online. Poporsi alasan pemilihan moda transportasi menuju kampus yaitu faktor biaya perjalanan (23%), uang saku bulanan (16%), jarak tempuh (14%) dan waktu perjalanan (6%).

Abstract

The success of a project is the primary goal for companies engaged in construction services. The aim of this study is to identify the factors influencing the main success of contractors in road construction projects in West Sumatra Province and to propose solutions for improving contractor performance in future construction projects using the POAC method. This study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing questionnaires to collect data. The research results reveal six key factors affecting the primary success of contractors in road construction projects in West Sumatra Province: Physical Evidence, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, Empathy, and Workforce factors.Keywords: Success, Project, Factors, POAC

Abstract

Research and development in the paint industry continue to evolve along with market demands for innovative and high-quality paint products. This study focuses on the development of an automated microcontroller-based paint mixing device to enhance the efficiency and quality of products in the paint industry. The process of mixing basic paint materials, such as pigments, binders, and solvents, is often carried out manually, which is prone to inaccuracy and takes more time. The application of microcontrollers in paint mixing offers a more precise and automated solution, allowing better control over mixing consistency and parameters. Test results show that this device can produce accurate color mixing using the TCS3200 color sensor to detect RGB variations, as well as an ultrasonic sensor to detect the presence of objects during the mixing process. Abstract

This research discusses the performance analysis of supervisory consultants in road construction projects in West Sumatra Province. The objectives to be achieved with this research are to identify factors that influence the performance of supervisory consultants on road construction projects in West Sumatra province, to analyze the dominant factors that influence the performance of supervisory consultants on road construction projects in West Sumatra province, and to obtain solutions. to improve the performance of supervisory consultants on road construction projects in West Sumatra province. In this research the author used a combined research method, namely by distributing questionnaires to respondents and conducting interviews with experts. The selected respondents were owners, namely the Department of Highways, Human Settlements and Spatial Planning of West Sumatra Province, consultants and contractors involved in Periodic Road Maintenance work activities in West Sumatra Province in the 2018 to 2023 Fiscal Year. The research results showed that there were 10 factors that influenced performance supervising consultants for a road construction project in West Sumatra Province and the dominant factors influencing it.

Abstract

The effective management of fire hoses is critical for ensuring rapid and efficient response in emergency situations. This study explores the implementation of a 350W Brushless DC (BLDC) motor for improving the speed and efficiency of fire hose retraction systems. The research aims to enhance the performance of fire hose reels by replacing conventional methods with a more advanced motor-driven system. The methodology involves an experimental approach with phases including design, implementation, testing, and data analysis. The system was evaluated under various conditions, including both unloaded and loaded states with water. Results indicate that while the BLDC motor significantly improves retraction speed compared to conventional methods, its performance is affected by additional load, showing the need for further optimization. Abstract

The lack of workers' understanding of the importance of OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) contributes to the high rate of workplace accidents in electrical projects. This study aims to identify internal and external factors affecting the implementation of OHS Management Systems (SMK3) among electrical contractors and to formulate strategies using SWOT analysis. Data was collected through observations and questionnaires, then analyzed using IFAS, EFAS, IE Matrix, and SWOT.The IE Matrix results indicate that the company is in the "Growth and Build" category with an IFAS score of 3.8835 and an EFAS score of 4.0000, reflecting significant external pressures and opportunities for growth. Recommended strategies include improving SMK3 practices and intensifying SMK3 program development. SWOT strategies include: (1) S-O Strategy: enhancing SMK3 implementation and increasing workforce competency; (2) W-O Strategy: providing OHS training for workers; (3) S-T Strategy: conducting education and outreach on SMK3 implementation; and (4) W-T Strategy: developing detailed and strict OHS regulations. Abstract

The problem of air pollution is one of the negative health impacts that occur in society. The high level of population allows active smokers to increase. This is also exacerbated by the growing development of buildings which causes a reduction in green space that functions as a filter for dirty air. To keep the air clean, several efforts are made such as planting trees outdoors and using air filters for indoors. This research is made to create a design tool that will be a detector for the presence of cigarette smoke and will suction the air if smoke and dust are detected. With the use of the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller as a G2y1010 dust sensor data reader, MQ-135 gas sensor and DHT 22 temperature sensor which will process inputs and produce outputs based on fuzzy logic control rules. Equipped with a room fragrance after the filtering process is complete as a complement to the comfort process in the room.In addition, an alarm notification system will also be raised as a warning if cigarette smoke is detected.Keywords: automatic system, water truck, ultrasonic sensor, infrared sensor, air filling efficiency

Abstract

Padang City with the largest consumption of diesel fuel in West Sumatra Province will have an impact on fuel availability and global warming which increases the effects of greenhouse gases such as carbon emissions. The use of used cooking oil as a biodiesel substitute for diesel fuel can reduce dependence on diesel consumption and reduce the impact of greenhouse gases. The purpose of this study is to calculate the potential of biodiesel from used cooking oil and analyze the impact of greenhouse gases produced. The transesterification method simulated in the Superpro Designer application is able to produce 314,732.55 liters of biodiesel per year with a density of 875.34 Kg/m3 at a temperature of 35℃. The calculation of carbon emissions refers to the IPCC Guidelines 2006 equation showing a decrease in carbon emissions produced by 279.75 tons of CO2 per year. The results of this study indicate that the biodiesel from used cooking oil obtained has met the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) and the use of biodiesel from used cooking oil can reduce the impact of greenhouse gases from carbon emissions.Keywords: Solar, Used Cooking Oil, Biodiesel, Greenhouse Gases

Abstract

Penelitian pengendalian kinerja proyek Penataan Kampung Seni Borobudur dari segi waktu dan biaya dengan metode analisa Schedule Performance Index (SPI) dan Cost Performance Index (CPI), memperkirakan waktu dan biaya penyelesaian proyek dengan metode analisa ETC dan EAC, menyusun jadwal percepatan bagi pelaksana sehubungan dengan adanya potensi keterlambatan melalui program Microsoft Project. Dari hasil analisa kinerja proyek diketahui bahwa schedule varian (SV) bernilai negatif dengan nilai SPI 1 berarti pelaksanaan proyek lebih lambat dari jadwal yang direncanakan sedangkan cost varian (CV) bernilai positif dengan nilai CPI 1 itu menandakan bahwa biaya pelaksanaan lebih kecil dari yang dianggarkan hingga periode bulan ke-6 mengalami efisiensi sebesar Rp.10.798.692.000,59 apabila dibandingkan dengan anggaran yang direncanakan yaitu sebesar Rp.74.388.708.248. Dengan adanya indikasi keterlambatan pelaksanaan dari jadwal yang sudah direncanakan maka perlu dilakukan program percepatan pelaksanaan pekerjaan yang mampu mempercepat waktu pelaksanaan pekerjaan struktur. Dari hasil program percepatan pelaksanaan maka didapatkan jadwal pekerjaan dengan durasi waktu yang lebih cepat 31 hari kerja dibanding jadwal pekerjaan semula.

Abstract

Theft cases are the most prevalent crime in Indonesia, with various variations in each case. One type of theft that often occurs in residential areas is breaking into houses, which can happen due to weak traditional security systems. To address this issue, an adaptive and technology-based home security system is required. Advancements in technology have driven innovation in enhancing home security systems, one of which is the “Automatic Door Lock Security System Based on Raspberry PI3 with Camera and Smartphone Integration.” This research aims to develop a security system that allows users to monitor the status of their front door in real-time and control it at any time using a smartphone in a practical and efficient manner. This device uses an application tailored to user needs on a smartphone, with input from a SW420 vibration sensor for security detection, a push button for the doorbell, and a webcam to display the door's status in real time. The Raspberry Pi 3 serves as the microcontroller, with output via a buzzer as an alarm and an MG996R servo motor for opening and locking the door. The research process began with modifying the door handle according to requirements and testing the app's connection with the microcontroller, testing the SW420 vibration sensor's readings, testing the webcam, and testing the MG996R servo motor to operate the door lock and handle. Based on the research results, the app can control the device in real-time at a distance of 1m to 15m. The system is designed such that when the SW420 sensor detects vibrations deemed hazardous, the Raspberry Pi 3 sends a danger notification to the user via smartphone and also triggers a buzzer on the active door as a danger signal.
