Abstract

Respiratory disease is the leading cause of mortality. One cause that affects lung damage is environmental factors. The International Agency for Research on Cancer states that the air has been contaminated with carcinogenic substances including volcanic ash that consequence the harmful effects. Mount Merapi is a high volcanic activity mountain located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Around Merapi, there are dense settlements so that volcanic particles will be inhaled and will cause respiratory problems. The study aims to determine the lung function in the population living in the Merapi zone. The study uses a quantitative method involving 32 respondents located at 15 Km from Merapi’s slope. Data collection was carried out for one week by the cross-sectional study. Descriptive data analysis on the short-term effects of volcanic ash exposure found that 50% of respondents experienced runny nose, 92.9% dry cough, 71.4% respiratory tract irritation at two weeks after exposure. Long-term effects found that 35.7% of respondents experienced cough with phlegm, 32.1% wheezing, 50% dyspnea, 50% shortness of breath gradation 5 according to MRC scale, and 82.1% experienced PEFR value decrease. Researchers suggest to routine health screening so that early detection of lung function can be reduced especially in the Merapi eruption zone.

Abstract

Depression is one of the psychological responses experienced by breast cancer patients. One of the actions to reduce the psychological impact of breast cancer patients is with music therapy. Music effects can calm the soul, provide comfort, calm, so that arises a sense of enthusiasm and positive thoughts. The music used in this study is nature sounds. This music is very close to the environment and each individual recognizes the sounds of nature so that it is more easily and efficiently applied. Natural sound music with a combination of dzikir can be used as an alternative therapy to improve the mental status of breast cancer patients who experience depression. This study aims to determine the effect of combination therapy of nature sound and dhikr on the level of depression in breast cancer patients. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-equivalent non-equivalent without control group approach, to see differences in the average level of depression before and after giving a combination of music therapy and dhikr. Giving music therapy is given with a rhythm of 60-80 bpm, stable, low frequency and relaxing melody has been done 2 times a week. The data was processed with SPSS statistical software version 20.0 with normality test and paired t test. The results showed that the majority of patients aged 36-45 years (46.7%) and undergoing 3rd cycle chemotherapy (33.3%). Natural sound music therapy and dzikir significant to reduce depression scores with p value = 0.001. In conclusion, this study proves that nature sounds music therapy effectively to reduce depression scores in breast cancer patients

Abstract

The ability to make ethical problem decisions is a requirement for nurses to carry out the professional nursing practice. Decision making is a systematic approach to resolve a problem. World Health Institution in 2017 identified 98.000 patients died every year because of bad decision making. One strategy in the transformation of organizations in health services today is empowerment. Empowerment is a leadership design that can influence a nurse in decision making. The study aims to know the influence of empowerment leadership on the nurse’s decision making. The method in this paper is a literature review. Search for research articles using a database of sciences from Google Scholar, Science Directs, Clinical Key and the final results found 10 articles to be reviewed. Results: 5 empowerment resources can be used by nurses in improving decision making. The empowerment that contains reward, coercive, expert, referent, and legitimate can be used by nurses in improving decision making Result: 5 sources of empowerment can be used by nurses in improving decision making. The empowerment that contains reward, coercive, expert, referent, and legitimate can be used by nurses in improving decision making. Empowerment leadership style can be an alternative way to improve the quality of nurse decision making. Reward and coercive can influence experience, an expert can influence facts and rational, a referent can affect intuition, and legitimate can affect authority.

Abstract

Labor pain is a physiological condition that most experienced by all women giving birth. Labor pain of the active phase is caused by cervical dilatation and distention of the uterine corpus. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences of acupressure effect on the combination of BL32 (Ciliao) and LI4 (Hegu) points with BL32 (Ciliao) and SP6 points (Sanyinjiao) toward the intensity of labor pain. The research design used Quasy Experiment with the approach of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with the Purposive Sampling technique. The population of this study was all maternity women at PMB Siti Zulaikah Jogoroto Jombang. The sample in this study was 22 respondents who include to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The pain scale instrument used was the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The data were analyzed by using Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test with α ≤ 0.05. The results have shown that there was an effect of acupressure in both intervention groups on the intensity of labor pain with a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). There were no differences in the influence between the two intervention groups (4.09 ± 1.044 vs 4.82 ± 0.982; p = 0.108 (p>0.05). Acupressure on BL32 (Ciliao) and LI4 (Hegu) point combinations with BL32 points (Ciliao) and SP6 point (Sanyinjiao) effectively reduce the intensity of labor pain so it can be used as an alternative non-pharmacological intervention in reducing labor pain intensity.

Abstract

In the world, around 1.62 billion people have low HB levels, around 30.2% occur in the group of women aged 15-49. In Indonesia, anemia cases rank 4th in the top 10 most disease groups. Prolonged iron deficiency can cause anemia, so it needs to be treated immediately so it doesn’t continue into pregnancy age which can cause complications until maternal and perinatal death. Papua has an abundance of marine wealth; one of those is Kerang Dara. Through this study, researchers wanted to explore the health benefits of nature. The aim is to see the effect of Consumption of Kerang Dara Cookies (Anadara Granosa) on Changes of Hemoglobin Levels of in Woman of Childbearing Age as an Effort to Prevent Anemia in District Aimas, Klaigit Village. Type of this research is quasi-experimental by pretest-posttest control group design method. The population of all the women of Childbearing who live in Klaigit Village, with a total sample of 14 people divided into 2 groups: control and intervention. Data collection techniques using random sampling. The time of data collection occurred for 2 weeks, starting from September 20th to October 4th. The results based on statistical tests using T-Test, then the value 884 is greater than the value of the table 0.05, then the conclusion is there is an Effect of Consumption Kerang Dara Cookies (Anadara Granosa) Towards the Increased of Woman of Childbearing Hemoglobin Levels in Klaigit Village in District Aimas in 2019.

Abstract

Acute respiratory infections (ARI) are a disease that can cause death in infants in developing countries including Indonesia. Exclusive breastfeeding and formula milk and environment are factors that influence the incidence of ARI. This study aims for determine differences in infants aged 0-6 months in Lameuru public health center. The study uses a comparative descriptive method with a retrospective study approach. Until in this study were all infants aged 0-6 months. The total sample of 116 babies. The data used are secondary data take from medical records using observation sheets. Data analysis using chi square test. The results of this study showed that babies who were given formula milk experienced more ARI namely 30,2% while babies who did not experience ARI were given 34,5% exclusive breast milk. There is a difference between formula feeding and exclusive breastfeeding for the incidence of ARI p= 0,003 (p<0,005). It was concluded that there was difference between formula feeding and exclusive breastfeeding for the incidence of ARI in infants aged 0-6 months at the Lameuru public health center. It is recommended for nursing mothers to continue breastfeeding with exclusive breast milk to their babies until the age of 6 months.

Abstract

The prevalence of stroke in Indonesia increased from 7.0/mile to 10.9/mile. The facilities and infrastructure become a national problem especially in the health sector. The initial 3 hours of a stroke is the time span for treatment and help to obtain optimal results. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the transportation of stroke patients to the emergency department at Ratu Zaleha Martapura Hospital. Method: This research was analytic descriptive with cross sectional approach and consecutive sampling technique was used to get 30 samples. The study was conducted from October to November 2019 using a questionnaire. Data analysis included frequency and percentage tables. Results: The results showed that 46.47% of respondents used non-ambulances, 73.34% of the reasons were free, 53.33% of medical devices in their modes of transportation were not available, 56.67% of respondents stated that the travel time to the hospital was ≥165 minutes, 50% during the transportation process was not accompanied by a health worker, and for the distribution of locations was the most in the District of Martapura as much as 26,67%. Conclusion: Many stroke patients who were taken did not use ambulances, many were used for free reasons, the majority of medical devices in the mode of transportation were not available, most patients took more than 3 hours and when referred were partly not accompanied by a health worker and the majority of patients were from Martapura District.

Abstract

Cancer is the main cause of death in children, the majority of treatment is chemotherapy. besides having a therapeutic effect, chemotherapy also has a psychological impact on children and their parents. Among other disorders of sleep, anxiety, stress to depression. Coping strategies can be used to eliminate or reduce stress from stressors. Locus of Control affects personal coping strategies in tolerating the threats that may cause stress or solve the problem. The aim of this research was to find the correlation of locus of control with parents’ coping strategy who have child with cancer undergoing chemotherapy in Hematology Oncology pediatric ward at Ulin Hospital of Banjarmasin. 60,5% of respondents showed the using of Internal Locus of Control. 94,7% of respondents indicated the using of Problem Focused Coping. Fisher Exact analysis showed the p value of 0,509 which indicated that there was no correlation of Locus of Control with Parents’ Coping Strategies who have child with cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan asset bangsa, diharapkan mempunyai perilaku yang baik agar mempunyai masa depan cerah. Perilaku yang tidak sehat seperti merokok hendaknya di hindari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat beberapa factor determinat yang mempengaruhi para remaja berperilaku merokok. Dalam pengambilan data selain melakukan pengamatan langsung berkaitan dengan perilaku merokok, peneliti juga memberikan kuesioner kepada 400 subyek yang berkenan untuk menjadi responden. Kuesioner tersebut diberikan kepada remaja yang aktif sekolah di SMP dan SMA di Kulon Progo Yogyakarta. Selanjutnya data di analisis dengan analisis jalur menggunakan program stata 13. Hasil dalam penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh pengetahuan tentang bahaya merokok melalui sikap remaja (b= 1.70; 95% CI= 1.26 sampai dengan 2.14; p< 0.001) dan melalui persepsi kendali perilaku remaja (b= 1.59; 95% CI= 1.15 sampai dengan 2.05; p< 0.001) terhadap perilaku merokok. Kesimpulannya adalah ada pengaruh secara langsung dan bersifat negative antara niat dan persepsi kendali perilaku untuk tidak merokok terhadap perilaku merokok remaja. Ada pengaruh secara tidak langsung antara pengetahuan, sikap dan persepsi kendali perilaku terhadap perilaku merokok remaja di Kulon Progo Yogyakarta.

Abstract

During illness, children had a lot of unpleasant experiences. That experiences can reduce the quality of life in children. Music therapy is expected to improve the quality of life in sick children. This study aims to determine the effect of music therapy on the quality of life in sick children. Several online databases were searched from 2010-2020. The inclusion criteria of the articles are research articles, free full-text articles, articles written in English, and concerns on music therapy intervention programs for sick children aged 0-18 years old. There were six articles used for the review of this paper. The six articles are similar in the results that music therapy can improve the quality of life for sick children. The type of music therapy is active music therapy (the child is directly involved) and responsive (listening to music). Pediatric patients who are proven to be able to effectively improve the quality of life through music therapy are children with palliative care, brain tumors, Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplants (HSCT), mental disorders, and children who are treated in ordinary inpatient rooms. Music therapy is proven to be effective in improving the quality of life of sick children with the various accompanying disease.
