Abstract

The data of non-active students is an obstacle in a university because it is counted as a student body, thus affecting the lecturer ratio. For that reason, in order to improve the lecturer ratio, a way is needed in addition to adding lecturers, but also by evaluating the data of students who are not active and active to be filtered back by looking at academic data that is known so that students can continue their studies or should be advised to resign or also drop out . To solve these problems a system model is needed that can recommend students as drop out students and can also provide other recommendations that can be used as evaluations. Case-based reasoning method is used to see new data matching with old data, where active student data to be evaluated will be matched with student data that has been dropped out or received a warning letter, so that it will be used as a new solution. Case-based reasoning methods can help in recommending students to drop out or get a warning letter.

Abstract

Stainless steel 316L is widely used in medical applications. AISI 316L has good mechanical properties, good corrosion resistance and easy fabrication. On the other hand, 316L should be upgraded its surface mechanical properties for implantable materials. One of the treatment used is shot peening. shot peening can increase surface hardness in the presence of micro structure changes. These changes are due to plastic deformation and residual stress. This study discusses the effect of shooting time duration of 2, 4, 10, 20, and 30 against the micro structure and surface hardness. The steel balls used are 0.6mm in diameter and 40-50 HRC hardness with 8 bar pressure during shooting. the results of surface hardness on the duration of 2, 4, 10, 20, and 30 minutes obtained respectively are 296.7 HV, 380.8 HV, 425.8 HV, 445.0 HV, 504.9 HV and 523.1 HV. The surface hardness is increased due to structural changes on the surface and sub-surface of the shot peening material. The result of micro structure obtained is that with increasing duration of shot peening and the increasing of hardness value of surface hence grain size at sub surface that is smaller after treatment. Shot peening caused hardness of material 316L stainless steel and made grain of microstructure sub layer.

Abstract

Pertemuan 5 Menit (P5M) is a routine activity that is always carried out by instructor in Politeknik Manufaktur Astra (Polman Astra) to students in each Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) before or after lectures begin. Students who do not follow or violate the rules at the time of P5M will get a penalty in the form of minus hours. Minus hours are penalties given to students. Data minus hours of P5M are recorded using a form that is recapitulated one by one for every week and inputted into academic information system  Polman Astra. The input time for minus P5M clock data is 565 minutes. Therefore we need an information system that can help overcome or automate it. In this research an analysis and design will be carried out using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) stages with extreme programming methodology which will reduce the recapitulation time from 565 to 280 minutes.

Abstract

There are many benefits of using information technology in the health sector such as to make hospital information system, clinic or puskesmas. Now, queuing reservation system is still done manually or just using SMS / by phone, required a system that can be used patient to find and do doctor reservation. Thus, the patient when it comes can be directly checked without having to wait for a long time. Another problem when someone goes to a new area, then need medical services as soon as possible because of that is needed an application which contains information of doctor / clinic nearby. Therefore, in this paper will be discussed draft doctor reservation application by displaying a list of doctors. So the patient simply open the application and will be displayed a list of doctors, this will certainly facilitate the patient in finding and make a doctor reservation.

Abstract

Information technology (IT) applications in organizations are very important to do this to support the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's business processes. IT assets are the most important component in the company's business processes (organization) today, which has a high vulnerability to the risks that occur. non-functioning of IT assets because threats (risks) can systematically disrupt performance. The technical implementation unit (UPT) at STT Pagar Alam is responsible for managing IT assets. IT assets that are the object of this research include hardware consisting of monitors, CPUs, projectors, stavolt, printers and laptops with a considerable quantity. departing from the management's needs when identifying risk factors that need to be given maintenance priority and the type of IT assets to identify and measure IT assets using the Quantitative risk analysis (QRA) method so that known aspects and factors need special attention effectively and efficiently. This study produced recommendations on the type of IT assets in the form of CPUs and the types of power loss risk factors that require priority for further control measures.

Abstract

Iron is chosen for the manufacture of air batteries because it is cheap, widely available in nature. One solution currently being developed is the creation of air batteries. This study aims to determine the effect of electrolyte of seawater and the temperature of air that is in direct contact with carbon cathodes and iron anodes of air batteries as a source of electrical energy.The method used in the voltaic cell which is an electrolyte, anode and cathode solution. It is this anode and cathode that causes a reduction and oxidation reaction, as well as an electrolyte as a conduit to produce electrical energy from chemical reactions. The higher the temperature of the air in contact with the battery will reduce the battery's electrical power.The decreasing air density will reduce the amount of air mass, so that the air mass that is in direct contact with the electrode gets less.

Abstract

Lignocellulosic filler such as gmelina wood flour is an alternative of synthetic reinforcements which is ecofriendly, abundant in nature and inexpensive. This research aims to investigate the effects of gmelina wood filler addition on tensile properties, impact strength and morphology of epoxy composites. Filler volume fractions evaluated were10, 20, 30 and 40 percent with 30 mesh filler size. Hand lay-up method was used to manufacture the composites. Tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation and impact strength were determined based on ASTM standard. Results show that filler addition up to some extents improves the mechanical properties of materials. The optimum tensile properties and impact strength are achieved when 10 percent filler is added into epoxy matrix. Further addition of filler degrades the tensile and impact properties of composites. This phenomenon is due to the existence of weak interfacial interaction between the gmelina wood filler and epoxy matrix for higher filler volume concentration beyond 10 vol. %. The scanning electron micrograph of tensile fracture surface reveals that there are voids, agglomeration and pull-out mechanism which are the cause of the composites failure.

Abstract

Genset modified with biogas, when biogas empty genset can’t used gasoline. Beside that, when genset operated with biogas are corrosion at fuel system, because in the biogas are water steam. So to solution this problems must to research modifications genset with hybrid fuel (biogas-gasoline). A research with modified on carburetor to assembly venturi mixer. Step a research are engineering design, manufacturing design, and performances test  genset modified. Performance parameters are power (watt), voltage (volt), frequency (Hz) and current (ampere).  The conclusion of the research are the genset can operate with carburetor modified, and optimum performances at throttle open 25%. On load 0 the result are voltage 212 Volt, frequency 50,9 Hz, current 0,01 A, power 0 watt, with 800 result voltage 196 Volt, frequency 31,5 Hz, current 2,89 A, power 594 watt. Optimum 700 watt with result voltage 217 volt, frequency 44,3 Hz, current 3,09 A, power 694 watt.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create a Web-based Literature Culture Information System Besemah Pagar. Besemah Literary Culture comes from the besemah tribe that grew up in Kota Pagar Alam. Besemah literature is now rarely heard by the Pagar Alam people inside and outside the City of Pagar Alam and is also almost unknown to the public, especially Pagar Alam among young people today. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development. With the web-based information system program, the public will gain knowledge about the literary culture that is weak in the City of Pagar Alam, and also help disseminate information in the introduction of the culture and literature to the public at large to increase outside tourists in supporting the City of Pagar Alam program. Tests carried out using Black Box Testing with no error results. The results of research in the form of Web-based Literature Culture Information System Weak Besagar Pagar that can be implemented and used by the general public.

Abstract

AISI 316L stainless steel is one of the metals that are widely used to meet medical needs. In its use of these materials must meet several requirements such is violence, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and tenacious. To meet these requirements, the modification techniques continue to be developed, such techniques include electropolishing techniques and cold deformation. This research will be carried out merging technique electropolishing and cold deformation which might be expected to obtain the quality 316L stainless steel is better. Research carried out by deform the specimen with a thick reduction of 40% and then do electropolishing process, then performed the test roughness and hardness on the surface of the specimen. Cold deformation 40% increase surface hardness up 105%  from the initial violence. Electropolishing can reduce the surface roughness of up to 14 times.
