Abstract

Research of Arabic Education (AE) is a systematic investigation of interesting research questions about the Arabic language. Arabic Education Research can use a variety of approaches, types, and designs. For this reason, diversification of research methodology is needed so that it is not concentrated in certain research approaches and types. This study aims to describe: (1) the approach and type of research used by students in thesis research; (2) mastery of scientific substance and research methodology of students; (3) weaknesses that occur in student thesis writing. This research is descriptive-quantitative. Data collected by documents and interviews. Data were analyzed with percentages and reflective thinking. The results showed that: (1) most students conducted research using a quantitative approach, with the type of experimentation, and quasi-experiment design, (2) the substance and methodology of the students showed good mastery, and (3) weaknesses that occurred in student thesis writing lies in the weakness in making research abstracts and discussing research results. For this reason, it is suggested the need to increase students' insights in the field of research methodology, so that student research is not focused on specific approaches and types of research, so that it spreads to all approaches and types of research. However, the choice of approach and type of research must still adjust to the scientific characteristics and the problem under study.

This platform is a kind of the learning management systems (LMS), it is specially designed to manage interactive electronic lessons, with the aim of supporting the learning process, whether hybrid learning (in Classroom and via platform) or completely virtual learning. In this research, we will focus on the most important uses and features it provides, as well as the contribution of the educational activities to creating new tools of communication between students and teachers and how to make learning process more interactive than classroom courses, so we describe and analyze in this study the most useful educational activities in Moodle platform (forum, chat, wiki, glossary, survey and database) and the different uses through the examples that we created. The most important results of this study are: The E-learning platforms Moodle provided an environment for active learning through communicative and collaborative activities that simulate the Learning process in the classroom. Indeed, these activities made it easier for teachers to follow the learners better than what is available in the classroom, and enabled their learning to be assessed better. Therefore, the challenge is how to design educational activities for achieving the objectives of the lessons in E-learning platforms.

Abstract

This research titled: “Effect of Learning Simile on Essay Writing Skills of SSI Arabic Secondary Students in Kaduna State, Nigeria,” tried to unravel the subject matter. The research problem emanated from the weaknesses experienced by the researchers in the essay writing of the students in the course of their teaching at secondary levels. Thus, they formulated a research question with the aim of answering it through the usage of the experimental method. As such, they grouped their students into two: experimental and Control group, in which each of the groups consisted of ninety (90) students. The experimental group was taught simile using particular treatment, while the control group was taught conventionally. Consequently, it was vividly clear that those exposed to special treatment performed better than their counterpart in essay writing. Thus, the researchers recommend that: Teachers should give serious attention to the use of special treatment in the course of teaching rhetorics, as this would enhance their performance in writing skills. The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) was also advised to consider what will improve the teaching/learning of rhetorics in the course of their curriculum development and implementation.
