Abstract

The research aimed to obtain the best stocking density for goldfish (Carassius auratus) which are kept using a recirculation system. The research was conducted for 60 days from March to May 2023 at Durian street, Bengkulu City. The research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisted of 4 stocking density treatments and 6 repetitions so it’s obtained 24 experimental units. The treatments consisted of stocking density of 15 fish/20 liters (P1), 30 fish/20 liters (P2), 45 fish/20 liters (P3), and 60 fish/20 liters (P4). The research used container in the form of plastic box measuring 50 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm. The results showed that stocking density had a very significant effect on biomass weight growth and specific growth rate, but had no significant effect on absolute length and survival rate. The stocking density of 60 fish/20 liters (P4) resulted biomass weight growth of 131.23 grams, survival rate of 99.00 percent, daily biomass weight growth of 2.45%, and length growth of 2.64 cm.

Abstract

In certain locations of Indonesia, Ritx Soil and Weather Sensor technology has been used in the agriculture industry. However, scientific reports on farmer technology uptake are not publicly available for scientific and policymaking purposes. As a result, this study was conducted to give scientific data on the acceptance of farmer technological advancements. This exercise was conducted in Cikembulan Village, Garut Regency, with 56 participants. According to the report, only 41% of respondents used technology. Cosmopolitanism, farmer motivation, farmer presence, self-efficacy, the function of extension personnel, frequency of extension, education, and farm experience are the elements of innovation adoption explored. Only farm experience has a favorable impact on the uptake of farmer innovations. Finally, there must be a significant push, particularly from the non-profit organizations and the government.

Abstract

The decline in the selling price of rubber caused farmers to mix jengkol planting on rubber plantations, with the aim of increasing land productivity and double profits for farmers. This study aims to determine farmers' decisions and the factors that influence farmers' decisions to plant jengkol on rubber plantations. The method used is descriptive quantitative analysis using a Likert scale, and to determine the factors that influence farmer decisions, multiple linear regression analysis is used. The results showed that the level of decision making by farmers in Ilir Talo Village, Seluma Regency was 35.23 with a very high category. The variable of farmer motivation (X1), and the proximity of farmers to farmer groups and PPL (X2) affect farmers' decisions. While the variables of farmers' involvement in traditional party activities (X3), land ownership (X4), farmers' land area (X5), income (X6) did not affect the decision to plant jengkol plants on rubber plantations in Ilir Talo District, Seluma Regency.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide information on the development of research results regarding technology in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in lowland rice cultivation in Indonesia. The method used is a narrative review with a limit of taking articles from 2003 – 2023. The results of the literature review of the articles obtained were grouped into five categories of technology types, namely low emission varieties, land processing, soil fertility management, irrigation management, use of greenhouse gas reducing bacteria. The information obtained in each category is still limited and does not yet describe integrated cultivation technology in reducing greenhouse gases. From this research, it is recommended that research development related to low greenhouse gas varieties, land processing, recommendations for organic and inorganic fertilization, irrigation and the use of greenhouse gas reducing bacteria still need to be carried out in order to achieve the target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This experiment aims to determine the response of several red chili varieties to doses of bokashi mixed with remunggai (Moringa oleifera)and water apple leaves (Syzygium aqueum). This research was conducted from December 2022 to April 2023 in Bukit Peninjauan 1 Village, Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency. Using a completely randomized factorial design. The first factor was variety (V) which consisted of V1: Panex 100, V2: Pilar, V3: Gada MK, and the second factor was the dose of bokahi (D) which consisted of D1: control (NPK), D2: 10 tonnes/ha, D3: 20 tonnes/ha, B4: 30 tonnes/ha. The treatment was repeated 3 times to produce 36 experimental units. The results of the analysis of variance were continued with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a level of 5% if the factors had a significant or very significant effect. The results of the research that has been done show that giving different doses of bokashi to 3 varieties of chili plants has no significant effect on all observed variable parameters, both plant height, number of branches, flowering age, harvesting age, number of fruits per plant, and fruit weight planted.

Abstract

Crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus is one of the fishery commodities that has business prospects not only as an ornamental fish commodity but also as a consumption commodity. Disease attacks caused by bacteria cannot be avoided, so one of the efforts made to increase the resistance of crayfish by giving kappa carrageenan is to increase the resistance of the crayfish. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of resistance of C. quadricarinatus to A. hydrophila bacterial infection by giving kappa carrageenan with different frequencies which is effective for increasing lobster survival after challenge tests with A. hydrophila bacteria. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (RAL) with five treatments and three replications, namely control (without injection of kappa carrageenan), 1 time, 2 times, 4 times, and 6 times of injection kappa carrageenan. During maintenance, kappa carrageenan was given at a dose of 5 μg/g of oyster by dissolving 2.5 mg in 1 ml of Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) and then injected into lobster as much as 20μl/head. on day 30, challenged with A. hydrophila bacteria. The results showed that giving kappa-carrageenan 2, 4, and 6 times showed the same results (P>0.05) on the absolute growth of crayfish. The survival rate of crayfish given kappa-carrageenan showed that the frequency of giving 4 times showed the highest survival rate. Water quality during the study consisting of oxygen 6.25 mg/l, carbodioxide 3.68 mg/l, pH 6.8, ammonia 0.17 mg/l, and temperature 26.9 °C showed that it was still in the range that was feasible as a maintenance media

Abstract

Freshwater lobster (C. quadricarinatus) is a commodity that lives in lakes, swamps, and rivers. Currently, freshwater lobsters are in great demand both for consumption and for aquarium aesthetics. This research is to increase the growth and survival of freshwater crayfish by using the method of different doses of glutamine in commercial feed. The research design carried out was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). consisting of 4 treatments with 3 repetitions. During the 35 day rearing period, research showed significant differences between each treatment in absolute weight growth, absolute length, weight growth percentage, daily growth rate, and survival of Freshwater Lobster (C. quadricarinatus). The use of glutamine in commercial feed shows that the best results in glutamine dosage for the growth of Freshwater Lobster (C.quadricarinatus) were found in the V2 treatment with a dose of 2% ml and the lowest in the control V0 treatment. This study recommends the use of glutamine in commercial feed to increase the growth and survival of freshwater lobsters (C. quadricarinatus)

Abstract

Inulin is a type of prebiotic that has been studied to be useful in increasing the growth of several fish species. This research was carried out to evaluate the effect of inulin supplementation on the abundance of lactic acid bacteria in the intestine, growth performance and feed utilization including weight growth, specific growth rate, and feed conversion ratio of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. Ten tilapia fish with an average weight of 4.41 ± 0.52 g were reared in plastic tanks with a volume of 30 L for 30 days. During rearing, tilapia are given commercial feed with inulin supplementation as a treatment, namely: 0.0; 1.5; 3.0 and 6.0 g/kg feed, three times a day ad satiation. The data obtained in this study was tested statistically using the one-way ANOVA test and Tukey's advanced test. The results of the study showed that the inulin supplementation treatment of 1.5 g/kg feed provided the highest abundance of lactic acid bacteria at the end of the study, the highest weight growth, specific growth rate and lowest feed conversion ratio (P<0.05) compared to other treatments. The highest total gut bacteria of tilapia fry at the end of the study was shown at a treatment dose of 3.0 g inulin/kg feed. Based on this, inulin at a dose of 1.5 g/kg feed can be used as a prebiotic for tilapia seeds to support their growth and feed utilization.

Abstract

The focus of this study was to evaluate the impact of applying liquid organic fertilizer (Eco-Farming) on the growth and yield of lettuce plants. The research location includes the experimental garden land of the Faculty of Agriculture, Tridinanti University, Palembang, located in Pulau Semambu Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The study took place from July to October 2023, using an experimental method with Group Randomized Design (RAK) involving 5 treatments and 5 repeats. In each experimental or mapped unit, there are 80 plants, with a total sample of 3 sample plants analyzed. The tested treatment involved P0 as a control (without liquid organic fertilizer), P1 with 5 ml of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) per liter of water, P2 with 10 ml of POC per liter of water, P3 with 15 ml of POC per liter of water, and P4 with 20 ml of POC per liter of water. Variables observed include plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), root volume (cm3), wet pruning weight (g), and plant dry weight (g). The results showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer 'Eco-Farming' had a positive impact on the growth and yield of lettuce plants. In the P4 treatment (20 ml POC/L water), the plant height reached 17.3 cm, with the number of leaves as much as 7.9 strands at the age of 4 weeks, and the weight of wet pruning per plant reached 14.15 g.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of types of soil processing and potassium dosage on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants in ultisol subsoil soil. The experiment used a Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot is a type of land cultivation consisting of 3 levels, namely: no tillage, minimum tillage, maximum tillage. As a subplot, the dose of potassium fertilizer consists of 4 levels, namely: without fertilizer (control), dose 75 kg/ha, dose 150 kg/ha, and dose 225 kg/ha. The research data was analyzed using Diversity Analysis to find out whether the treatment had a real effect or an insignificant effect. If the results of the analysis have a real or very real effect, then continue with the Duncant's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level.This research concluded that: maximum tillage had a significant effect on plant height at 8 wap, number of leaves in the flowering phase, and ear circumference, and was very significant on leaf width, weight of husked cobs per plant, and weight of husked cobs per sweet corn plant planted in ultisol sub soil. The dose of potassium fertilizer of 225 kg/ha had a real and very significant effect on the variables of plant height at 4 wap, 6 wap, 8 wap, weight of cobs with husks and weight of cobs without husks. gave plant heights of 4 wap, 6 wap, 8 wap, highest cob weight with husks and cob weight without husks in sweet corn planted in Ultisol subsoil soil. The interaction of the type of soil processing and potassium dose influences the weight of cobs with husks per plant and the weight of cobs without husks per plant. The maximum type of tillage and a potassium dosage of 225 kg/ha provide the highest weight of husk-free cobs per plant and the highest weight of husk-free cobs per plant.
